I have driven an nsx before and it was an unbelievable experience. There was no rattling in the one I drove and the exhaust sounds on sport plus mode is very nice. Love the downshift noises too.
Honestly Ayrton barely had much part in the development in the OG one. He suggested they should stiffen the body more, and only drove it for a couple promo shoots lol
Skye Higa I think purposely they left the room for improvement on chassis and suspension for Type-R, but major problem seems to come on track where computer has its own mind to apply assist on the cornering. NSX is hand built so having rattle is very normal, you’ll be surprise how many high-end sports vehicle comes in for service for the rattle noise to the dealership. Rattles are very easy to fix most cases with simple micro foam tapes.
My first time watching one of your videos and I loved it. You got yourself a subscriber. :) The editing and content felt balanced, which made the video feel very soothing or calming to watch. Keep up the great work!
It’s taken me quite some time to warm up to the new NSX if I’m honest, but I think I’m getting there. For some background, I credit the 911 for making me a car guy. Our neighbor across the street had a 996 and he was nice enough to let me sit in it, and from that moment on, I was hooked on cars. Since then, I’ve really come to appreciate how steadily and carefully the 911 has evolved from generation to generation as I’ve grown up. When the new NSX first came out, I thought Acura went wayyyyyyy out over their skis with the tech. It seemed so detached from the purity and simplicity that the original NSX represented and way too video gamey and digital to me to be a rewarding driver’s car. I still think that to a certain degree, but much less so than when it first came out. And hey, NSX does stand for NEW Sports Experimental, so by it’s very name, it can’t be what a 911 is. Maybe I didn’t quite approach it with an open enough mind at first. Still, though, what I’d like to see is a RWD NSX - keep the rear electric motor for the torque fill and the electric only driving capability, but ditch the two front motors to get some of the organic feel back. I’d be willing to take the hit to the 0-60 and handling numbers to get that feel back. Just my thoughts, though.
My 06 Acura RSX type s made the same rattling sound. It was the windshield rubbing against the top of the dash. I fixed it by placing some insulation between the two, a problem Acura was aware of.
I’m a big fan of Acura. Currently have a 2019 TLX A-SPEC SH-AWD. I’m looking at getting the Type S when it’s available but I must admit the rattling in the video is unacceptable. I don’t have that on my car much less expect it from an NSX. I hope that’s a one off that can be fixed because I’d be a bit annoyed if that was a daily occurrence. But great video, love the car and always love the effort you put into these!
Powerful but not super flashy, even kind of basic when you consider the interior, and it's a hybrid, which is super cool imo. I love it. The only other hybrid supercars are pushing $1m, and to me, that makes this car very unique.
In my opinion, a very underrated vehicle for what it is. Wouldn’t be surprised if the market for it ends up to be like the 1st gen, under appreciated until years later the market takes notice to it being a bargain then climbs in value. I don’t understand how people say this can’t be called an NSX. The original was designed to compete with the other super cars of its day, and in that era manuals were still a thing. These days, super cars have evolved with DCT, dry sumps, turbochargers, hybrids, and other technological advances etc. To me, it was natural that this high performance vehicle from Honda/Acura had to be called the NSX, because that is what the 1st gen represented for the brand in the past.
One of my friends own this car and after driving it a few times, I have to say that it was a splendid experience. The only problem I see is that price, and my buddy agrees. Wish it was closer to $100k, a much better price.
the car is very advanced, basically the same technology as a 918 porshe...which is over a million...so the NSX is an underpriced hand built bargain....what hurts it is the badging.

Ok so the car itself is absolutely badass and just a great review as always. That dash rattle tied to this specific unit though WOULD DRIVE ME CRAZY lol.
Glad it's such a great DD because having the same infotainment screen that's in my Civic Touring is rather chintzy for the price point, bargain supercar or not. That said, you give the best driving experience on the interwebs.
Great review. I love this NSX. Great show piece for Honda/Acura Engineering. It does need some interior upgrades but what car doesn’t from time to time. I certainly hope the 21 TLX has some of this fun in an affordable package.
Quite different from the NSX I bought new in 1995. Much simpler car at a much lower price that came with a great 6 speed manual. Was a great car for it's time but this is quite the performer!

Brake by wire is frightening, just like the steer by wire on those infiniti's (forgot which one). I dont know I could ever feel comfortable with that. Maybe if there was a manual e-brake
These systems have back-ups but they suck. In my older cars, the connection is so direct I can literally feel the texture of the brake rotors through the pedal. On this you feel nothing but resistance.
So this thing, basically weighs 3900 lb? What was Acura thinking? I like it, but I doubt it's around for very much longer? It's amazing and beautiful, but i wish they made it for half the price, around 400Hp, without hybrid parts and the cost of research and development that went for years into the hybrid technology. Acura would have made a lot more sales/profit at ~$75000 price range which is slightly more than a Shelby GT350, Corvette / cheaper than Cayman GT4 , and it would have made a lot more people happy. Instead they went chasing numbers , improve brand recognition and marketing which i don't think was the right choice. No matter how good NSX now is, not many will chose it over a AMG GT-R , Audi R8 or $30k more Mclaren 570s in it's class. NSX instead could have been a leader in a class below considering it's amazing design. For reference Acura sold only 170 NSX in US in 2018, Ford Mustang - 8739, Mclaren 570s - 1100
