I like this new series you are doing, Looking forward to the next one.
I have been using pocket notebooks for more than 10 years. I jot down notes about what is going on that day, things I need to do, or things that happened that I want to remember. I also note down how I'm feeling both mentally and physically. Then later I can look back on those notes and expand on them in my long form journal.
I've been journaling for more than 40 years now, and I have found it to be kind of a meditation, and getting stuff out of my head, along with keeping a written record of my life.
So many good things to say about journaling. I never go anywhere with out my pocket notebook, I call it my Sidekick :-)
Thanks again for the great videos.

I love the idea of journaling things that are not for you/ things that are for you. I am focused on curbing my shopping habits, and I think journaling these things will really help me be less impulsive. Thank you!

Very interested in this topic when it comes to journaling that is beyond just documentation/log of life events etc. I have more of the issue of venting and how that can go on forever with no resolution, you know?

So I think that this idea is very nuanced. Mainly because there is something to be said about the pure benefit of a brain-dump especially when directed in a specific way to really let out all those bottled up emotions that hasn't been expressed yet.
Having said that I don't believe that the best tool for that is using a pocket sized notebook. I think the size of the notebook and the size restriction creates this beautiful boundary around how long we allow around brain to dwell on a particular issue and a particular challenge and obstacle.
Sometimes less is definitely more in that sense. 🤎

@@alignedplans That makes sense... it's interesting how differently people use pocket notebooks. It's true they are smaller and there is limited space. But I generally think of it as having a space to dump thoughts whenever - since it's supposed to be "in your pocket" even if not literally. All very interesting to think about!

@@tortagialla See I love how you look at it and how it may differ from the way I would approach it. I feel like I do have a ton of things that my mind processes on any given day so I always try to streamline it to uncomplicate things lol. Not sure if I'm as successful at it as I'd like to be but I do this that like with anything we learn and we evolve to try to find what works for us. I appreciate you being here!!
