So I totally read what I wanted to read; "Hellinistic Classicism" read "Helenism" in my head until you actually read it out loud. Here I thought you were quoting something our dear Helen Wang once said. The sticker with the black hair helped make the connection. Now I'm laughing at myself.
HECK YEAH NEW LAUREN JUST DROPPED. this made me excited to tap into my standard size common planner for next year. i'm planning to set it up this week while i recover from surgery!
Just people mentioning being ABD triggers my PTSD 🤣 5 years and a field shift later I'm still having those feelings about my PhD. (The guilt I built up being clueless about my ADHD over all the missed deadlines and stuff I just couldn't wrap my head around is insane.) I'm so glad you're almost done! Yeepeee!
I can relate to hyperfixation moments. I'm similar in that if I'm reading and I find something I don't know or that I'm unsure of, I stop reading to research the item. I fall in rabbit holes. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Original CBT (before Mindfulness became a component) is very similar to Stoicism in that it's heavily focused on thinking and addressing fallacies of thought. Gary Emery wrote a very good book called "Own Your Own Life" that I found interesting because it didn't include any emphasis on Mindfulness that's almost synonymous with midern CBT books. I enjoyed the flip through and your notes on what you've found interesting.
I love seeing your academic musings on paper. Do you keep more of your "actual notes" in a safe place like on obsidian? And these pages are just your inner thoughts after reading?
thank you so much!! yes I have a separate research notebook that i try to keep the bulk of my dissertation related research in. I also have a lot of reading notes on specific books housed in notion. these pages in my TN are just my own thoughts about the readings i am doing for "fun" :)
Great video . being a mental health counselor in training, your quest reading about cbt caught my attention. May I ask which type of white pen you use for your headers,? Just subscribe too.
What is your research and dissertation focused on? I remember those days, it’s stressful and exciting all at the same time. My doctorate is in Social Work.
I’ve always wondered about your black with white labels or headings - are those stickers or your writing? If so, what pen do you use because it looks great!
