Even years after graduating, thinking of my PhD still gives me PTSD. As an ADHDer with a very forgiving supervisor, I was so lost all the time that the overwhelm was excruciating. But it's really therapeutic listening to his chill you are about it all. 😊 Best of luck, you're doing an awesome job!
yay new Lauren vid!!! i feel you about sometimes having to rot after therapy. i used to have therapy on tuesday mornings as well and depending on the session, i would be out of WACK all day. this semester, i started going to therapy on tuesday evenings instead since i work in the office on tuesdays now and it's made that a little better 😅 i find i am not consistent at using weeklies, so i enjoyed seeing how you do it!
Thank you Lauren! You do "have a life" just when we're working & working on a dissertation and being a T.A. & tutoring we don't really get to have room/energy for social, movies, etc. You are a total rock star🤩 and making a huge positive contribution to the lives of so many and the ripples will keep rippling so beautifully and powerfully. And when you've completed this "phase" of your education (life-long learning) you will eventually have a different life with social activities, & reading books without requiring a hilighter & pen (except when you feel like it🥰) ~kari in Lekwungen Territory, BC
Great video! I really like how you utilized the kit for your week plans! P.s. I hope you don’t mind my sharing, Pho is actually pronounced like “fuhh” 😊
it’s so cool to see someone in a phd program planning their life/work! i finished my phd in 2021 and remember searching youtube at the time for examples of others on their doctoral journey and not finding much (if anything at all). thanks for helping to demystify the phd process 😊😊❤
hello!!!!! i try to do it based on time, so if i have box stickers that span 1-2 hours i typically designate it to those events in my week that are 1-2 hour! then if i know if something is going to take a long time or span many hours, i use my pen 😁
I’m a full-time UX writer and an EdD student who just bought my first Hobonichi. This video was immensely helpful and gave me lots of ideas! Thank you!
@ thumbs up or down sign is a bit of a tricky response 😂 I’m not sure I like that you feel my pain and a thumbs down could be interpreted as I don’t appreciate your reply 😂 In any case-good luck. I’m happy to report I’m done with grad school and life gets more beautiful as time goes by! Kudos to you for keeping a planning/journal hobby while being in GS. My approach to GS was not healthy 🤦🏻♀️
My life is complete
i love you helennnnn

Hi Lauren! Perhaps a silly question but how do you decide whether to use your pen or boxes to time block your event/appt?
hello!!!!! i try to do it based on time, so if i have box stickers that span 1-2 hours i typically designate it to those events in my week that are 1-2 hour! then if i know if something is going to take a long time or span many hours, i use my pen 😁
I loved this video. I don't usually use any stickers, but they always look cool when other people use them.
