This is the first BBT-episode I ever watched. I was visiting my parents and my dad was like "that show doesn't look like much fun" so we ended up watching just to see what it was and we both broke down laughing when "cousin Leo" showed up - we were big fans from that moment.
I don't know if it makes it better or worse, possibly worse, but the actor playing Leopold is gay in real life and just became engaged. Great reaction, I always enjoy watching you watching Big Bang!
They are not refering to a Terminator movie but the tv show The Sarah Connor Chronicles where Summer Glow (the actress that plays River in the tv show Firefly) plays a "petite hot 17-year-old killer robot" badass Terminator that protects the protagonist. That's all you have to know. If you don't know what she looks like, you might want to check her out because it will come up again in The Big Bang Theory.... Bye friend!
I don't think I've ever clicked on a notification so fast! I think my favourite lines I this one are 'un-unravelable' and when 'Leo' says "I am Sheldons cousin Leo" and Leonard's reaction.
I don’t see how it was transphobic. I wouldn’t want to wake up to a transsexual either. My preference is women. I don’t hate transsexuals but I wouldn’t want to wake up to one. Especially if you were drunk and don’t know what happen
Seems like you don’t understand what the word transsexual means. A transsexual person (whether mtf or ftm) means they’ve already had their gender reaffirming surgery. Meaning you would have no idea you’d have sex with not a born-male or born-female
I think what you’re referring to is transgender. Transgender means someone is experiencing gender dysphoria and taking steps such as hormones to reaffirm their gender and may choose to later take the gender reaffirming surgery
I think the idea was trans people were not as accepted then, therefore others would have looked down on you more for sleeping with them and so it was seen as worse? Still not okay but not as deliberately offensive. Also at the time there were supposedly prostitutes that would not be truthful about being trans so there would have been an element of being tricked as well.
the idea was lee was attracted to females and he was so drunk/high he didnt realize the prostitute he slept with was actually not entirely female. i'd freak out/be super upset if I woke up next to a female one day lol.
Exactly what the person above me wrote, there's another comment on this video that explains it too, the joke was not offensive at all, and you completely missed it becauae you were looking for something offensive about it
I'm thinking they referred to the Fox TV Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Which unfortunately like most Fox programs got cancelled too early to give the show a real chance.
I know this is old but if you went through the whole show, there's a few, one of the first lines of the show is when Leonard and Sheldon meet penny Leonard: I significant improvement over the old neighbor Sheldon: A 300 pound transvestite with a skin condition? Yes she is Don't get me wrong, I love the show and humor as much as the next guy but when the "Jokes" aren't even laughable, it leaves a stale taste
Out of all the 'she thinks she can sing but she can't' storylines I've seen in tv shows, Penny was definitely the least worst. With some singing lessons she'd be ok. The bigger problem however is that the character she's playing, judging by how she's singing, is Mimi Marquez who, though it's never actually said out loud, is generally seen as being at least partly Latina.
A bit late maybe, but trust me, as a transgender person myself, the transjokes in this episode are not transphobic! Unlike others I won’t call you out or anything for virtue signaling, I will however just implore you to keep anything you find offensive as related to yourself ^^ there’s no reason to be offended on behalf of others.
Sheldon definitely has OCD, and the thing about OCD is often overthinking, and something that seems simple turns into a three-headed Harry Potter dog and it's almost impossible not to do something about what's bothering you because it's constantly in your head. Another characteristic of OCD is the person's need to be in full control of all situations to avoid surprises that could cause stress. That's one of the reasons for some of Sheldon's attitudes throughout the show, for example the spot on the couch, or the organization, difficulty in changing habits like the restaurant where they go to eat, the three knots in the door and the list goes on. I kind understand some of Sheldon's attitudes, I have OCD and although it affects me differently than it does him I can perfectly understand why he sometimes acts like this, he can't help it.
Yeah, not one of my favorite episodes either. I do like the little detail that later in the episode Sheldon and Leonard are wearing "Queen Mary" T-shirts (and Leonard has what looks to be a Quenn Mary souvenir towel on his night stand) - so, they really did go all the way to Longbeach. LOL. (By the way, if anyone's a fan of Postmodern Jukebox, I know they filmed the video for their cover of "Never Gonna Give You Up" on the historic Queen Mary: ruclips.net/video/NTmk0Pqk6hs/видео.html )

This anti trans joke rambles you put on are more annoying than the jokes. Trans jokes are funny in the same way that jokes about ethnic groups, nerds, good looking women etc in this show are funny. Why laugh at one and frown at the other. They were different times and many people enjoy a show where they just go for some more risky jokes

The Terminator girl they were talking, it's the tv show call ''the Sarah Connor chronicles''
Is this the first time that Sheldon knocked three times?
It might be
But... he knocks four times here
Oh no! He's a Time Lord!
First time I was both amused and frustrated by Sheldon. His adding layer upon layer to Leonard’s deception drove me nuts!!

While "Summer Glow" is a lovely name, the actress's name is "Summer Glau". 😉
@@victorsixtythree lol you're right! I guess I'm counting the days to my own summer glow ;p

I enjoyed DJ Qualls’s performance. I think he has great timing.

Re-watching the show now I wonder how a lot of this stuff. I truly enjoy your reactions to the show
i was surprised when philippines was mentioned because almost ever american sitcom i watch they keep mentioning my country lmfao
Really feels like youre actively trying to be offended by these "transphobic" jokes.
There was no transphobic joke, you're trying too hard.
Some people apparently think that just a mere mention of a transgender person makes something transphobic.
the world is too sensitive nowadays@@renx81

Why are you marginalizing poorly singing struggling actresses? Imagine how bad you make struggling actresses feel.
Ok you were offended by a "transphobic" joke? *sighs* We have a virtue signaler here. Yeah I'm out smh.
