I take 4 grams of high EPA and DHA fish oil a day, and my mood is much better than it used to be, and my memory seems to have improved, although this is harder to quantify, as I have chronic migraine and a TBI from a car accident years ago, so my memory is very temperamental from day to day.

Have you tried a good magnesium supplement? It can help with pain, and with good i mean something like magnesium bisglycinate or citrate not oxide form that is poorly absorbed. I am a big fan of transdermal magnesium oil

@@jozefien1702 Yes! I use magnesium glycinate. I just have to carefully time how I use it, as I'm on gabapentin and magnesium can reduce its absorption.
I've never tried magnesium oil; what's it like?

    two ideas come to mind:
1.it takes about 2 years to change omega 3-6 ratio, that is if you have a good source in the diet. fatty fish is best and other sources.
2.I remember reading in one of Lisa Feldman Barret's books that cell membranes with high omega 3 make for faster neuron firing., thus better brain function. this point is really important when raising kids. it should be visible, some kids think faster.
some studies have been made, can't remember anything in particular.

I know this fact that omega-3 take long time to be reach to brain cell...therefore the people with inflammation need to supplement for years before they see any impact I am not talking about brain inflammation
Since I am a chemist and worked in pharmaceutical industries in (QA DEPARTMENT) for 19 years very picky on selecting my omega-3 supplements
I have no issues with memory, no brain fog I always ask the supplier of my omega-3 for C of A for the batches /lot #s that I purchased from them and I like to have my omega-3 sourced from a single fish type, from cold water if it comes with vitamin E and astaxanthin even better and Molecularly distilled is the way to go

I looked into supplementing with fish oil capsules but one caution I got was that most fish oil is rancid and you have to buy the "good stuff" to know what you're getting. Okay, so the good stuff is $50 a bottle so nuts to that. I guess I'm stuck with gagging down sardines. (because everything else is loaded with mercury) --and now you tell me it takes six years to start to do any good? Surely the mercury will have turned me into the Mad Hatter by then.

Would be nice yo dissociate omega 3 from "fish oil". Plants omega 3 is best (algae or ALA etc).
I will just copy me last comment here to detail a bit:
true that fish oil seems safer than whole fish themselves but rumors is also on the use of supplementing in fish oil or dha/epa in the fist place (compare to just enough ALA).
fish oil is a byproduct of the dirtiest kind of fish industry (even if you care only about your personal health you should look it up).by dirty i mean more than infection, pesticides, plastics, heavymetals...
polutants bioconcentrate in these fishs and for most(lipophilic kind) in the lipid part. so the for a supplement it need good quality control (often corrupted though) and good filteration process. polysaturated fat oxidize faster especialy in these conditions (from living animal products, poor condition, additional processing etc). then there is cold chain etc. they sometimes add fruit flavor to cover up rancid smell. all fish oil samples tested by consumerlab in 2012 contained PCBs but still better than a whole fish. there is even a lawsuit against the main fish oil companies for excess level PCBs.
vegan dha/epa are generally made from algae so lowest in food chain plus phytonutrient/antioxidant that protect against oxidation and even help with detoxification of pollutant etc. can be supplement or fortified food or whole food (nori, dulse etc). they might come with iodine (seawater one especially), bioavailable b12, vitamin d, rare phytonutrients(phycocyanidins etc), taurine etc...
though you do not need long chain omega3 as the body can convert way enough of it from short chain one (and you let the body be in control of it so less risk of excess and immune system and coagulation problem etc, also short chain compete for omega6 fatty acid elongation which has a problematic long chain form). vegan epa/dha pills cost few cents too. vegan means obviously better for our planet, our ocean, human labor conditions, sentients wellbeing, zoonose/disease risks etc...
Definitely if one take fish oil then leave the fish out of your menu/predation.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't work for a number of reasons, from the added brain pressure to the single dose wouldn't carry over long term. I like the idea, though.

@@Physionic it sounds initially like a crazy idea but it may not be far off. It's been proven that if you put alcohol in your eyes you will get drunk because it goes straight to your brain. No blood , breath or urine test will approve you are drunk . But if this is correct then wouldn't putting drops of omega oil in your eyes be also directly absorbed into the brain ?

What happens if you take omega 3 and smoke weed everyday? Asking for a friend. Does it reverse the affect? I’m so high rn
