I can't help but to SMILE EVERY time I hear him sing. His singing can turn my bad days into GOOD days.
(Edit: I feel bad, and I remembered that Daniel and his singing can give me a boost to feeling better. It DID, again, and it does it each time I listen to him. Therefore, I needed to change something above. The word "every" got changed to all caps.)
He said he was from Canada, but had never performed there till now. That is why he went on the show.

@@Jadyn_Sage okay. But still difficult to understand how his world success wasnt seen in canada. maybe only because he lived in the US his entire life. For example, if someone in europe was famous in the US, he would be at least famous in europe for being famous in the US, you know :D

There are many artists where you know the song but may not recognize the singer. Remember he only said his first name so I'm sure most couldn't identify him. I felt the emotion when hearing the song and seeing the audience reaction.

Many years ago, Daniel Powter’s 2005 album was one of the first albums I ever owned. I was always disheartened that his career never got as big as it should’ve (in my opinion).
Last year I did have a thought that it would be nice for him to audition for CGT but I thought it would never happen - you can imagine my shock when it happened 😂
I’m glad he got to perform on Canadian TV if it really was his first time. CGT needs to have more than a top 14 acts if acts like him get cut because of it. If he performed free loop in the semi-final and the full version of bad day in the final, I think he could’ve had a chance to win or at least make the top 3.
