    Can you do videos for 800-1000 about how to take advantage of players that just ignore opening principles?

    • @bucketspree4952
      @bucketspree4952 Месяц назад +9

      He has lots of ratings climb videos from around that rating, lots of great videos to watch
      The short answer is that sticking to solid opening principles and knowing good forcing moves will win you lots of games. Keep studying! 😀

      @@bucketspree4952 I think Nelsons real short answer was even simpler: dont blunder

      Losing to 800-1000 players with no opening principles is a huge skills issue

    The only explanation for 8:48 is that he premoved the rook thinking you would take on d4.

      Really? I mean, another explanation is that he's stupid. I mean, who would give up an entire rook for nothing in a winning position.

    Love love love when you analyze your own games. Not so much the live gameplay (which is still good), more so when you go back and analyze games you already played.

    Hey Chess Vibes! Question. When you have an opening or position and you pin a knight on it's natural squares (for example c6) and he pushes both pawns to kick your bishop out (for example a6 b5). How do you know if you can sac with knight on c3 to b5 for the two pawns if ever. Thank you

    10:37 Why not Nd5 to not block your queen and to try to trade off the knight on f6?

    • @enderyu
      @enderyu Месяц назад

      Don't trade just because you can, trade if you think it could give you an advantage. In this case you are giving *him* the chance to trade into you and completely mess up your pawn structure (2 sets of doubled pawns). Also that knight on the rim was a great weakness for black later on

    • @GodsPlan156
      @GodsPlan156 Месяц назад

      Nd5 would probably force a trade, but Black would trade it off to give White isolated doubled pawns in the centre, where they can be picked apart. Furthermore, the pawns are doing a wonderful job dominating the centre and limiting Black's space to develop their pieces - the plan Nelson was using was relying on Black being too underdeveloped to take advantage of the weak King, and Nd5 would allow Black to trade pieces and get space to develop.
      In the video, not making the trade actually gets vindicated - e5 gets played to attack the queen while opening up lines of attack for both the bishop and the queen. The queen line would not have been there with Nd5, and the e pawn would not have been able to attack the queen if it had instead gone exd5 after Nxd5.
