Yes/No. Yes anytime you are carving something from the Earth it is labor intensive. No in that compared to building say a pyramid carving a tomb was much, much cheaper and less time consuming.
Remember that unlike with a pyramid which required "outside" labor - provided by the corvee in that case - who had to be housed/fed and supplied with tools etc. in this case the workers who created these tombs were = _"salary workers."_
Just as with Deir el-Medina* the worker village outside of the Valley of the Kings where the workforce lived there year round and were already "on the payroll" as working in the Valley was their full time job - so here a small workforce of say several dozen working in shifts would carve such a tomb out.
      * - the worker village appears to have supported perhaps upwards of ~1K people at it's height which would have included families et al. The actual workforce however was much less. At its' height it is believed to have been perhaps a bit over 100 people whereas normally it was probably half that or less - 30-50 workers laboring on the tombs in specialized gangs.
The Great Pyramid workforce as an example was estimated to be as much as 20K-30K at its' peak. This is one reason they stopped building massive pyramids and went to these tombs as they were less costly to create and easier to protect.

The only reason why anyone would leave the images of the king and his great wife worshipping the Aten when everything else was desecrated would be to avoid offending the Aten. That would be the only reason I could think of to leave those intact while destroying everything else.
As far as the chambers closer to the surface being unfinished, that may have been because they were later additions to the complex. They might not have been intended as burial chambers at all. Those could have been intended as rooms for grave goods or as a form of royal apartments for the king after his death or even a palace for him within his tomb. Other tombs for kings who lived longer have similar chambers beside the burial chamber, such as in KV5.
Were there remains of a funerary temple outside of the tomb? That might indicate the purpose of the unfinished chambers as a part of the tomb itself. Considering the king it was built to house, it may have been entirely possible he was doing away with the external funerary temple and locating his within the tomb itself. That would prevent his temple being torn down by later kings as so many before had been.
I love studying that king. He threw a monkeywrench into the works of not only his dynasty, but of the entire culture.

Just think about it, if Prince Thutmose hadn't died, Akhenaten wouldn't have become pharaoh. However, the cult of Aten had been introduced by Amenhotep III, the father of Akhenaten and prince Thutmose, so in that respect it would hardly have been much different.

Is the damage to the art the results of the "erasure" of Akhenaten? Or was it intact when it was rediscovered in the 19th century, simply eroded by time?

Akhenaten is a very interesting character pharaoh in Egypt.
    Some believe that he worship
The AHTEN is to give reverence to
    YHWH in the bible
and that Akhenaten was aware of Moses and the Israelites when they left Egypt.

601st. like. Yesterday evening I was in a live chat where a video of Ross Coulthart & Ben Van Kerkwyk was playing. The chat was horrendous. The nonsense being spewed by the Coulthart and Kerwyk was the typical bs about the fictitious desire of the establishment to ignore the truth. I was in the minority in there and the usual name calling ensued. It feels as if the audience for those videos have been inocculated against reality. Keep up your excellent work.

This documentary will give you a veiw of the Narmer Palette.
All the elements on the Narmer Palette are clearly shown.
1 The installation of the new king.
    2 The Preist.
    The standard bearers.
4 The unification of the two lands.
5 The speeches of the Chiefs and the King, on how to deal with enemies within and without.
The Narmer Palette is therefore a how to do manual for future generations.

      -Sub-Saharan African
      -Southern European "Spanish-Portuguese"
      -Ashkenazi Jewish
      -Broadly Northwestern European
      -Scandinavian
      -Finnish
      -Northwestern European
Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews share significant amounts of similar DNA. Studies have shown that both groups have a common genetic lineage tracing back to the Middle East, with Ashkenazi Jews showing about 30% to 60% European ancestry, and Sephardic Jews typically having a mix of Middle Eastern, North African, Iberian, and sometimes additional Mediterranean components. Despite the different histories and migrations, the genetic similarity between Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews is notable, with both groups sharing many genetic markers indicative of a shared ancestry from ancient Jewish populations in the Middle East. This shared genetic heritage is consistent across various genetic studies, which have examined both mitochondrial DNA (passed down from mother to child) and Y-chromosome DNA (passed down from father to son), as well as autosomal DNA that looks at the entire genome. -Grok

Ashkenazi is an word to reference to "Them", the word come's from Ashkenaz the first son of Gomer descendants of Noah.
Still today some do not Consider Ashkenazi Jews to be real Jews, that they are Khazars that converted to Judaism.
