I topworked a tree 2 years ago, this year i had total of 4 on the tree and let me tell you the hype is real truly delicious cant wait for next year, hoping for alot more fruit
Really enjoy Walter Zill videos. I have a ZINC tree that is a little challenging to pick also. Was watching your older videos with Walter picking ZINC mangoes and what to look for as far as coloring and that spotting on the top. Very helpful!!!
My young tree, only held one fruit this year, which I picked yesterday, it just had a hint of yellowing like this one, but mine popped off much easier, I got it sitting in my warm garage to ripen. anyway, I have tried a few of this variety and found it very delicious, different ripeness you will either get more pineapple or more coconut flavor. *update* it ripened up a few days later, the fruit was excellent, this was the first fruit it every put out, so there is always a sigh of relief that the nursery did not get the tags messed up and I got the right tree.
@@greatergood3706Many of us have had horrible production problems with this one many years now. It cant make it past the powdery mildew at all. Not for backyard growers at all. I pulled my tree out.
@JRPBC561 I haven't given up yet. I am convinced that spraying sulfur will be an ongoing practice in the future. Never seen powdery mildew like this. Older trees usually power through with some fruit.
I had a mallika mango the size of a papaya this year...it weighed 1.1 kg with a thin seed inside...I have no idea where it came from or how such a fruit came to be...I'm trying to grow the seed hopefully the seedling produces the same size fruit...
@@greatergood3706 I don’t know 🤷🏼♂️ However, I did end up getting one almost a year ago and it’s struggling. Seems to have some fungus or disease. My Glen, and Pickering I bought at the same time are doing great. Also bought a lemon zest which is struggling too. I’m hoping they recover and survive.
This guy is such a OG. Old ass ladder, old ass home made picker, old knife. I hope this guy has transmitted what he knows!!
Great video. Enjoyed watching. Thanks.
Quite informative, this should help a lot of backyard growers.
Thank you for another fantastic video
“I’m mangoed up” ha love it

Did the tree produce again?
How is your fruit production this season?

Very good Mango and video presenting it but I have a question, where can I buy a GOMERA mango tree, thank you for any help
Would love some more info on his picker, or at least a close up photo. Was planning on making one myself but I defer to his wisdom.
Looks like an interesting design. You had to make your own during Walter Zill's Dad's era
ideal for container growing? Or semi dwarf?
Which cultivar is called "King of Mangoes". Do you have that cultivar ?.
Is Sugarloaf early, mid or late season mango? What month does it fruit in Florida?
Mine is ripe now , But has a little bit of that overly ripe on one end and under ripe on the other, I should’ve picked it about a week ago
Good afternoon sir
So sounds like sugar loaf probably isn’t a good choice due to the ripening characteristics?
If that was true, why are they one of the hottest selling trees. My wife sampled one and asked me to track down a tree 🌳 for the backyard.

My name is Sello I like mango trees please assist me
I'm wondering if this variety is all hype. Low production and uneven ripening. Hmmm.
