Tragically underrrated band. Great songs in the 70s. Good as anything that came out in that era. Yet probably will never make the rock n roll hall of fame. God/Jesus bless and save all that read this.
I saw these guys in a bar in Rockford, Illinois in 1975 on the Bandolier tour. By then I'd photographed Zeppelin 4 times, the Stones twice, and 50 other bands and Budgie blew my shit away!
Never heard of them before last week. Now actively listening to everything of theirs I can find. Haven't found one stinker yet, every last tune DELIVERS!
Bandolier might just be the best Budgie ever made, which is really saying something. They were never quite the same after this record, but boy did they hit this one out of the park. That ending part is mindblowing.
In every album's comment section there is one dude that says the current album in the particular video is by far the best. Welp I guess they are all awesome. I still can't decide which is my favourite one but I don't care as long as I like and listen to this band .
I started listening to this before reading the comments. Had I read the comments, your forewarning could have at least prepared me for a punch in the face.
I just discovered this band in my search for vinyl. I’m blown away. And i just discovered Jerusalem as well. I’m 42 and getting to know new bands weekly. The beauty of music!!
My fave 3 piece band of all time, simply stunning !!! The sheer & unpredictable changes in dynamics & power are just incredible. . . And they make it all fit together seamlessly, like 5 songs melting into one. . .
This is a great track that delves into funk! I'm surpised rappers haven't sample this. Burke, Tony, and Steve lay down a solid groove on this track but rock out!
Oh well, I ain't got nothing, I got nothing to say to the right one I don't need nothing, I got nothing to feel for the bright one I ain't loving you dear, running away with no one Who do you want for your love? I got nothing taking my time, I'm a wild one, one And if I'd ever tried another to stay, I'll lie like a son Yeah I don't know when who can play At the same way Who do you want for... I ain't messin', burn your hand Don't you ever turn your back on a friend Slowly come girl, to my bed Underrated, underfed, dead! I've been getting bad vibes living in the smoke Try and tell you good friend but it sounds a joke Giving up the good things changing all my ways Meat is going bad girl, now I will be saved Yeah, I wish I could be strong Living with the good wins, that I wear them long Ooh now hear me calling out your name Has a lesson there's a game Don't you fool it, do it friend Keep your cool girl or you're dead Songwriters: Anthony Bourge / Burke Shelley
In the queue waiting for the doors to open at a Budgie gig, Trinity College, Carmarthen 1980. A few underage local lads turn up and are told by the doorman they are too young to get in. A few minutes later he re-appears and the youngsters are allowed in to watch the band soundcheck. To the boys in Budgie, I remember that incident all these years later so I'll bet those young lads never forgot how special you made them feel that night. It was a fantastic performance too!
WOW !! - This takes me back !! BANDOLIER was my 1st Budgie album;... then later when I was working in a Record Shop, some guy brought in the entire Import Albums of "Budgie" thru "In For The Kill" as a "trade-in." My heart BOUNCED !! Mint Condition Classic Welsh Blues/Metal for $4, total !! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS AWESOME SONG, ALBUM, & BAND :)
I remember where I was and what i was doing when the space shuttle exploded, Princess Diana's car crash, the twin towers and when I first heard Budgie!!! 🤘
Please anybody tell me that Rush didn't "pelfer" ! everything from budgie !🐦 I remember when my brother brought this album home in the '70s I think I was about 9 at the time and that was about 1976 and I know the album came out in 1975 and in my opinion bandelier is my favorite album and I still have it today and it's not in the best condition but it still plays !......
Despite being one of the most underrated bands of that error Budgie albums were very difficult to find. I know I am 60yrs Old. Tower Records was probably the best place and on 5 Ave in New York City. But still it was a hard to find them. And they were never on sale.....as in discounted prices!
you gotta think... if they were played on the radio, who knows the direction of their music would've went. There have been a lot of good bands that went on to tailor their sound to the general masses with pressure from the record companies because of that first radio hit.
I think it was more vocal damage in his case. Lost some range on this album and has a rasp. He reached his vocal peak on in for the kill, listen to Crash course in brain surgery for instance.
Heard my first Budgie today and I'm 68. F***ing great. Just goes to show you youngsters, you're never too old to learn something new.
listen to orang-utan and growers of mushroom both from 1970

Every day's a school day.
@@edjones6837 silberbart - 4 times sound razing 1971 - 🤯😬
Most underrestimated band of all time.
This is what is so good about 70s heavy bands. They were very influenced by soul music. Heavy, and funky.
This one certainly does
Spot on
Tragically underrrated band. Great songs in the 70s. Good as anything that came out in that era. Yet probably will never make the rock n roll hall of fame. God/Jesus bless and save all that read this.
may the grace of God be with you.
I LOVE this band!
Hail Satan. Hail Budgie.
It's just great stuff & who cares if it's not in the hall of shame
You can not better this
Hall of fame 🤔? Quality does not need that shit 😂🤣
Without a doubt the most underated band of all time.
This Song, Never Sounds Dated !!
I'm 19 years old, but I love Budgie band so much🤘🏻. This song is never gets old but gold🤘🏻🎸🔥

Old man is awesome the only song I don't really like is Allison
I saw these guys in a bar in Rockford, Illinois in 1975 on the Bandolier tour. By then I'd photographed Zeppelin 4 times, the Stones twice, and 50 other bands and Budgie blew my shit away!
Jay Jensen they were hot in their live performances
WOW! Do you have those photographs placed somewhere in the internet like Flickr or any site to see them?
You were lucky that you saw them. I never get tired of there music. So awesome
Never heard of them before last week. Now actively listening to everything of theirs I can find. Haven't found one stinker yet, every last tune DELIVERS!

Seen them a dozen+ times starting 1972
Top 5 band
Bandolier might just be the best Budgie ever made, which is really saying something. They were never quite the same after this record, but boy did they hit this one out of the park. That ending part is mindblowing.
Stoned Meadow Of Doom Just wanna say I love your channel - long live Budgie!
I always find myself coming back to this album, there’s something so pure about it.
You've must of overlooked there last album impeccable

Hello stoner god
Love how they transition from melodic soul music to big, heavy guitar rock.
Perfect fusion of soul funk and Hard Rock Incredible Musicianship
The opening part of this song is so cool, and kind of funky. Then it changes and punches you in the face! I love this song!
+James K. Yeppers!
The contrast makes the heavy part even better!
I started listening to this before reading the comments. Had I read the comments, your forewarning could have at least prepared me for a punch in the face.
hit the nail on the head James...
One of the BEST bands of the seventies, eighties and beyond 💜🖤💜

Agree with you..
I like them more than Rush, they had a longer career with magnificent songs and lps as Cream, they are way better than Motörhead
I totally agree, they were the best!
They're such a tight band. Incredible what 3 guys, who really know their shit...and their partners, can do.
This is a great track that delves into funk! I'm surpised rappers haven't sample this. Burke, Tony, and Steve lay down a solid groove on this track but rock out!
Legends Budgie Should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Yeah true, they're should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame
Ah der hat einen Schmelz und gleichzeitig einen Rock in der Stimme. Fantastisch. Da zieht es einem doch echt die Schuhe aus. So geil.

Its Funk-rock-metal for me

Went through far too much of my life without being hip to this band.

One of favourite band in the 1977.
best band of all time!
Guess Who were also underrated in this era with their jazz grooves progressing into hard rock.
Прошло больше 30 лет ,а до сих пор срывает крышу- классика!!!
this beat is out of this universe
I tell everyone this is the best band they never heard of
Preach it, brother 😀

Defines 'boogie rock' in a song.
Certamente uma das grandes bandas do Heavy Rock 70. Longa vida ao Periquito(long live to the Budgie)!
Bandaça cara! Amo demais o som desses caras, infelizmente encerraram os trabalhos em 2010.

What the fuck did I just find....this is LIT!
Budgie, never heard a number that i dislike.
R.I.P. Burke Shelley.
You can blame radio stations for this band never gettin the recognition they deserved. THEY NEVER WERE PLAYED
you gotta think... if they were played on the radio, who knows the direction of their music would've went. There have been a lot of good bands that went on to tailor their sound to the general masses with pressure from the record companies because of that first radio hit.

man i fucking love budgie!
Best song ever made
Gentlemaninpa fucking damn right
You clearly haven't heard Napoleon Bonaparte by Budgie.
I wonder why they didn’t put this song on Never Turn Your Back on a Friend
Good advice there: Never turn your back on a friend.
Radio headphones on 10 - Yay!!
Just how I like it!!
The gentelman below me knows HIS music
marvellous
Thank you san Antonio
does anyone really understand the geniusness of this tune?
2:11 "master of puppets"
They covered 'breadfan' also.
This makes me feel sexy and depressed at the same time
The groove the drummer gets into @02:56 is pretty sweet
Steve Williams was so tight and groovy!! Great addition to the band.
god I am young again!
The singer has a great Little Richard rasp
I think it was more vocal damage in his case. Lost some range on this album and has a rasp. He reached his vocal peak on in for the kill, listen to Crash course in brain surgery for instance.
Brill rift
Heard this on BBC's Guitar Heroes
It was from the Old Grey Whistle Test, and is one of my favourite clips from the programme and that is really saying something.
Too bad Rufus and Chaka Khan didn't cover in a R&B style since this has their sound and massive hit written all over it.
Reminds me of Glenn Hughes.
How the fuck can you dislike Budgie?
I wonder how many babies were made to this song. 7, maybe?
Budgie produced so many iconic musical bites that have been copied by myriad others.
Anyone else notice that the lyrics are missing a verse?
Я понял почему нет в этой песне рифмы- он читает РЭП.
