In 1978 I was 13 years old, a friend had the album Best of Budgie, he put it on and I was hooked. He said to me "ever heard of Budgie", of course I hadn't. I bought the album myself, I am now 55 and I don't know how many times I have repeated "have you ever heard of Budgie". Every single person I have played Budgie to fall in love with it. I have two kids,21 and 24 and they both love Budgie, plus everything else I listen to, Sabbath, Priest,TOOL, Led Zep, you name it they love it. Took them to see Sabs last show in 2013 and to TOOL Feb this year. I am so blessed to have kids that love what their dad listens to. Same as me ...13 in '78. First saw budgie at Hammersmith oden at 14! Last saw them at Colchester a few years back. Our local pub even has a few budgie tracks on their jukebox!!
That was my first Budgie album as well. Went on to get them all. Saw them twice, once at reading festival 79 or 80. Great band. I’m still listening to them aged 58

Born in 1969, got to know them through this CD in 1986 in Korea where few people knew Budgie at the time, saw them at London Astoria in 2003, and still listening in 2020...
My mum gave me this vinyl along with some others from her collection. I'll admit to not having heard of Budgie, but i loved the album cover so stuck it straight onto my turntable. Got through the whole album and loved the Black Sabbath style. Great songs. Then this song came on. All i can say is wow, just wow. Utterly stunning lyrics and vocal delivery. That guitar solo too! Beautiful. I couldnt believe Burke Shelley was a man though! Such a feminine voice. 10/10 from me
I commented on this amazing band recently and then I figured icomment was fair and precise. They grabbed my sences but tonight I'm for the most part without words. Timeless poetic and very original.
One of the best bands that somehow never made the big time.It just blows me away that they didnt because they definately were good enough and they have a sound that is kick ass and uniquely there own.
Saw them dozens of times in mid seventies in london. Live, they packed a mighty punch. Never many girls in audience mind you ! Era of greatcoats, denim, and warm beer
Superb, watched Floyd, sab, Gallagher, ash, genesis etc, from 1970, Great music will never be rivalled.. Norm . Aged 64, true rocker. Peace and love. Out there. Xx
My favourite song from that awesome band. The seagulls echoing the rythm of the solo at the end is just something... so amazing! give me the chills and reminds me why I love rock and roll so much. What a band dudes, what a band.
A song that really resonates with me, being 24 and turning 25 next month, still living at home, grappling and struggling between truly growing up and moving out on my own and hanging on to the very last remains of my childhood, still living with with my parents.
Tears in my eyes listening to this and reading the comments. Discovered Budgie when they supported Ozzy on Blizzard of Oz tour 1982 I think. Saw them in Coventry with schoolmates. Amazing band and songs, still so good now. God bless Burke and rest of the band, and all listening in 2020!
I see many of this comments is years old. As we are. Thanks. Love you. Loved Budgie. Timeless. Time goes, but we older , noone can ever take away our souls. No mather which country we came from, we had this in common. Music, love.

How great is this band? What a gorgeous epic masterpiece this song is. So sad it’s one that has to be discovered decades later.
Not heard this since I was a teenager - what a brilliant song and fantastic guitar from Tony Bourge.
classics never go away, and this is up their with the best...........still love it even after all these year, i'm Zozerely who is now 66 years young. ; )
i first heard this track in the summer of 1976 in a friends car coming back from a Queen gig in Edinburgh i had never heard of Budgie untill then. I can remember being speachless after hearing it...... one of the most astonishing bits of music i have ever heard then and now. Thanks Burke what a talent you are.
The Budgie track... Tony Bourge must be the greatest unsung guitar player of all time.
Born in 1969, got to know them through this CD in 1986 in Korea where few people knew Budgie at the time, saw them at London Astoria in 2003, and still listening in 2020...
1976 manchester, blown away, best couple of quid i ever spent
z taką muzyką się rodzić,z taką umierać.Byli ze mną w trudnych, przełomowych chwilach, dzisiaj towarzyszą mi zawsze w chwilach zwątpienia.

THIS IS A MASTERPIECE BY BUDGIE… BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES… WHEN LIFE WAS SIMPLER AND WORTH LIVING… LOVE IT…💯🎵🎶☮️🥁🔝🎸🤍🤍🤍
The words are timeless for me.
Just perfection, this is real music
This song still does it for me, it has everything 40+ years on
I was 15 when I discovered this song, what a pleasure to listen to it again...♥
My mum gave me this vinyl along with some others from her collection. I'll admit to not having heard of Budgie, but i loved the album cover so stuck it straight onto my turntable. Got through the whole album and loved the Black Sabbath style. Great songs. Then this song came on. All i can say is wow, just wow. Utterly stunning lyrics and vocal delivery. That guitar solo too! Beautiful. I couldnt believe Burke Shelley was a man though! Such a feminine voice.
10/10 from me
your mother had a great choice of music in them days
God bless your mum..
100/100 friend 100/100
I commented on this amazing band recently and then I figured icomment was fair and precise. They grabbed my sences but tonight I'm for the most part without words. Timeless poetic and very original.
Give their album " IMPECKABLE " a listen its my favourite of theirs.
Do you mean mostly boys went to see them play?
@@stratotega yeah, seemed to be very few girls or women !! Maybe a very few !
@@dommccaffry3802 ahah ok. That's funny, and I would have expected the opposite due to the music they play.
kocham ten utwór
To Ty "stara baba" jesteś. Pozdrawiam - całuję.
One of the most underrated bands of all time, for sure! I started listening to them around 1975. Great 3 piece....
Superb, watched Floyd, sab, Gallagher, ash, genesis etc, from 1970, Great music will never be rivalled.. Norm . Aged 64, true rocker. Peace and love. Out there. Xx
There aren't many songs that get me all emotional. But this is one of them and I'm glad that's the case. Fucking love Budgie.
👍👍☮️
Nice profile pic
Budgie gave me so much all the years and it's going on.
Rest in Peace Burke, thank you!
Hope all is well with you we all have a story written for us. Try to enjoy the ride we’ll get through the tough times with the help of others❤
one of the best hard rock ballads ever written; great music & lyrics.
RIP Burke Shelley! Thank you for sharing your talent to the world!
Am I the only one who fells a little sorrow in the heart when listen this song?
+Melchi Zedeq No you aren't

I’m blown away that this is the first time I came across Budgie - being a welsh speaker and 48 years old !! Love it
