- 16-year old Singaporean violinist Chloe Chua performs the finale of Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, where she has been Artist-In-Residence for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

She plays with such maturity and emotional depth, far beyond her years. Can’t wait to see where her incredible talent takes her. Bravo, Chloe! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
She's so fierce yet elegant. She handles the bow with powerful grace, almost like a weapon. Like a fencer or a swordsman. It's exhilarating to watch.
To be able to smile at the conductor during such a epic performance is next level.

In an interview with Symphony 924 a few days ago, Chloe said that although she had been preparing for her performances of the "Butterfly Lovers" violin concerto with the SSO on 10 and 11 November, she had also been sitting her O' level exams - and still had one more exam to go.
She is already such a wonderful violinist that one forgets how young she is.
That she has been able to give to us this Bruch, and other such similarly superb performances, whilst having to work around the demands of schooling, is truly remarkable.
The future of classical music in this world is bright with amazing young players like Chloe :)

The best version of this that I have seen in person was by Sarah Chang who I saw play live in London in 2012. Bomsori Kim also wowed the BBC proms this year in London with her performance of the same concerto. So many amazing young lady violinists now and lastly..... We the same age, yet im still on grade 7 only 🤡. Cant imagine the amount of work she has put in to achieve this level of playing, watching her play motivates me to practice more. Having someone your age excel at something really strives u to do better.

It always brings a tear to my eyes at the 4 min. mark when Chloe plays and at the 6 min. mar when the entire orchestra plays.

I can really say that Chloe has grown in the year since the concert with Four Seasons in 2022. And I will never, honestly, stop admiring her high technique, unique interpretation and thoughtfulness of each phrase. Chloe is an incredible musician.

It has been known for a while that next year the SSO and Chloe will release a CD box set comprising Mozart's five violin concertos, his Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola and (I think) his Rondos and the Adagio.
But the SSO has just posted that it is also going to release on CD Chloe's performance of the Butterfly Lovers violin concerto coupled with her performance of Paganini's violin concerto #1.

She looks so speed up because of how pro she is already, she knows where to start and to stop, and she stays very still, and knows which direction should she pose, shes very focused fr fr, im a beginner violinist and i can see so much potential she has, shes a literal prodigy

For Chloe fans out there, you might want to compare this performance to her Carmen outdoor performance 5 years ago with the SSO. A number of the orchestral members have played with her through this period so they have witnessed first hand her musical core development. (I would feel like a proud mother hen if I were any of them.) She really listens to all of the orchestra and vice versa. It is so clear in the finale as she accelerates, almost pushing the orchestra to the final notes. Really loved it! 😊
She outdid herself this time again. Outstanding performance from Chloe and SSO! She's got a bright future ahead of her. 🎻🎻🎻

What an outstanding musician and incredibly talented violinist. Her joyful and engaging personality coupled with her natural ability to interpret shines like a bright star through every beautifully constructed phrase.
