hi there.great video of the 08 doing what its meant to do.it looks really looked after, the 117 also looks superb just as i remember them back in the day.thank goodness the 117was not out of order. cant have AECs breaking down !
Great video Jamie, i also actually thought the DMU had failed!! Be interesting to see what would rescue the DMU if it conked out at Wareham on the Summer dated main line runs. Obviously they will need 33012 available at all times but if that was OOU for any reason?!
Good to see those preserved 08 shunters still in use 👍 Just curious, had the DMU conked out, or was it a trial rescue ? On a separate note, any news if 33 D6515 (Jenny) is returning for the spring ?
It was a training exercise , D6515 has still got lots to do before it returns, I think there working on the interior of both cabs at the moment. Not to sure if she will be finished in time for the spring Diesel Gala.
@@southcoastshipsandtrains1194 According to the “BLS (Branch Line Society)” website, the SR Diesel Gala for 2022 is on 6/7/8 May. I find that this website seems to get the info very quickly, they have also listed Diesel Galas for the WSR and Watercress Line. Hoping the SR one is correct, and that they can get the same visiting locos which were scheduled for the 2019 Gala (a 37, 55, 44, the ever-popular 73’s and a different 50 (021) Fingers crossed 🤞
@@jamiesmithgoingloco Hi Jamie, re your reply to another respondent, the “BLS (Branch Line Society)” website have listed the SR 2022 Diesel Gala for 6/7/8 May. Fingers crossed 🤞 this is correct, although there’s nothing on the SR website confirming this, I’ve found in past years that the BLS website get their info very quickly. They also have 2022 Diesel Galas listed for the WSR and the Watercress Line.
Anyone know when this section of line will be officially open to the public ? Also how many miles is this section of track from Norden to Wareham ? went on the Swanage Railway yesterday was a bit disappointed how short the line was only 20 minute run, would be great when they run straight through from Wareham Main line station.

Fortunately only an exercise, then. With the amount that DMU cost to overhaul, they'd have cause for some 😠 if it broke down
It's probably the most unreliable thing in the world😂 the amount of corrective work the fantastic diesel fitters have had to do it it is incredible.
