- We pit the new Skoda Karoq against the Jeep Compass and even though in theory it seems like an odd comparison, in reality, they’re a lot closer than you think.
The Karoq has a 1.5-liter 148bhp turbo-petrol engine under the bonnet and the Compass houses a 1.4-liter 160bhp unit.
But the Karoq has more features and an upmarket cabin. However, the Jeep has that air of indestructibility even in this city-friendly variant. We were equally confused and had to get them together to find out what’s what.

Karoq anyday, I’d spend some more and be assured about the quality since it’s a CBU unit!
other areas where karoq beats compass:
1. It has bigger ground clearance (200 mm) compared to compass’ (178 mm) for limited plus I mean
2. 9 airbags in karoq compared to 6 in compass so I can be assured about the safety as well
3. Bigger boot space (521 ltrs) compared to compass (408 ltrs only)
4. DSG (more preferred) gearbox compared to DCT
5. auto dimming and anti fogging ORVMs and IRVM in karoq
6. Adaptive cruise control available in karoq
7. Premium looking dash and upholstery with ambient lighting
8. bigger panoramic sunroof
9. Other clever features like removable led boot light, headlight washers, mini dustbin, diffused footwell lighting, vanity mirror lights, ticket holder, cooled glove compartment, tyre pressure monitor
So yeah, compass is an amazing suv too, but karoq just has that German edge to it!

CBU frankly means nothing for quality! Skoda uses plastic trim that is less durable than a Maruti 800 from the 1980s. This from a Kodiaq user. At 120kph+ it rides and handles really well over road undulations and expansion joints on the average Indian highway. Its easily the best in this department for any SUV in its segment as well as a segment higher. But that's where its strengths begin and end.
Those who comment karoq will not buy but those who comment jeep may have owned jeep compass ❤️🔥

But compass is 4x4 and more rugged (I'm not into off-roading thought, so Karoq any day)

Karoq is high on style quotient. Keep is muscular attraction. But karoq being an all petrol exclusive will have competition unlike the kodiq which was in both fuel varients petrol as well as diesel......karoq being a cbu what about parts for service when needed it will have to wait and no awd or 4x4 for this is not something to write about......

Compass has selective damping suspension which is quite ahead of the skoda suspension. On the other hand skoda has expensive maintenance and reliability issues in the long term. So compass is the better choice

New skoda maintenance programe simply brings costs at very low
I have skoda Octavia no breakdown yet
My old Fabia made in Germany 10 years old no breakdown yet +2 lakh kms

Maruthi? seriously? my family owns a rapid, linea and a T Roc. U might be lucky not to spend much on ur skoda cars, but maintenance is an issue for most of the skoda and Volkswagen owners. Karoq is a good car no doubt but can’t match with compass handling, driving dynamics and suspension. Also maintenance of compass is decent. Don’t teach me what reliability and maintenance is. I drove in about 12 countries till now. Cars ranging from Maruthi 800 to the Mercedes S class.
@@sam-fu7sc don't take it personally bro but in my family literally we have most German cars skoda and vw from polo ft tsi ,kodiaq,German built mpi fabia,and Octavia and a rapid automatic bro tell me how can I get lucky all times

if u are a petrol head: Then skoda karoq any day would be better option for petrol enthusiast
but if u are a diesel head : Then jeep has better engine in specs as compare to karoq ,offroad capabilities, and offcouse The power and torque so yeah its your pic what do u want a diesel offroader or petrol performance

Karoq has the looks especially from the inside, but less ground clearance and power compared to Compass. So that's one of drawbacks when it comes to challenge Jeep and it's price range🌻
Karoq has 200 mm GC whereas Compass in its non Trailhawk models have less GC as compared to Karoq.
What is Jeep doing with that extra BHP when it is slower than Karoq in 0-100 as well as in Kickdown Acceleration.
@@deepikavats3397 karoq is faster to 100 but what happens after that? locks its speed at 180 😂😂 jeep goes all the way to 216 ,you pay 32 lakhs for skoda karoq and 20 lakhs compass just humiliates you in highways , if you are saying karoq is faster in cities dont think about buying it think about buying a city car nexon EV it is faster than karoq in 0 to 100

@@ananthanmb4659 You don't have any knowledge about the car you are talking about and still writing comments,I'm telling facts obviously Jeep Compass Weighs more than Karoq so it is slower and the DCT used in Compass is also slow and not as responsive as DSG and the top speed of Skoda Karoq is 203 Kmph.These all are facts based on information and Skoda Karoq Costs around 28 lakhs on road Gurugram.
Talking about Nexon EV it is electric vehicle still it needs around 9 sec to reach 100 but many people have managed to cross 100kmph in 8.3 sec in Skoda Karoq.
Jeep only offers DCT Auto in Top Spec Petrol Variant which is very slow and sluggish to respond

Let noone be fooled. The Skoda is well but a Skoda. Have owned a Kodiaq for less than 3 years now from new. The durability of the plastic trim is poorer than a Maruti 800 from the 1980s. I have had so many pieces of trim ( including the handle lever) break and come off in this small period that I have lost count.
Karoq delivers better mileage than the compass
Karoq is CBU nd that the biggest downside to it....high price+ availability spare parts will be an other big issue too..🤦🤦🤦

Karoq is simply amazing elegent looking extremely powerful engine literally a lot more safe 9 airbags
and that amazing 1.5 litre powerful tsi and extremely reliablity of skoda is unmatched
Rather if you want to buy pure SUV pls buy mahindra XUV 500 that's the true SUV if you off-road
Also with new service programme maintaining one is damn easy
Hahaha do u know the meaning of a pure SUV? XUV500 is built on a monocoque chassis. A monocoque chassis can never do off roading properly. Real SUV’s are the body on frame chassis vehicles with 4x4 capabilities. All these monocoque chassis cars which are marketed as SUV’s like XUV 500 are not proper SUV’s. They can just avoid potholes on road and can do some basic off roading but not built to do rugged off roading. Watch this video below to know how miserably xuv fails in the off road test

My friend has Jeep 4x4 trailrated and he is simply a great off-road enthusiast
He is frustrated with poor built and cost of maintainance is damn high higher than even kodiaq
Poor customer service and poor built broke down 2 times since 3 years 😂😂😂
If you are true offroader buy thar top varient hard top @16 lakhs and save extra 5-6 lakhs and buy a grand I 10
And to your kindest information mostly people in India don't offroad seriously as we don't have proper off-road trails so XUV with its huge ground clearance bigger wheels and torquee engine is better for most of people also damn better features than compass also lower maintainance high reliability of mahindra an easy availability of spare parts

Your a poor knowledged person. That’s what I said any monocoque chassis is not an SUV. Same goes with compass or XUV500. Compass is a good on road car not off roader. Yes thar is a good choice over compass or XUV if off roading is your priority. Yesterday u where calling XUV500 a pure SUV which is a joke and with ur over night online research and half knowledge u come up with a new statement today. U hav no idea what FCA cars and engines are so can’t argue with u much.
