    It's amazing how clean you keep your truck inside and out, and all the chains are oiled, tagged, and painted. Keep up the great work and stay safe.

    Great videos, Kenny from Tyrone Malone facebook fan page. I retired last year,sold my truck. In 11 years never went on the hook. I'm proud of that, that's called good maintenance. I'll be watching your videos, be safe out there.

    Congrats on 200! Trent, I found your channel awhile back and subscribed when you changed over to this channel. I never thought I would find watching videos of towing operations interesting, BUT....I love watching your videos. You are very professional and that is always good to see in younger people. I'm sure your folks are very proud of you. You should promote your videos to local schools so young kids can see that not everyone works in an office. Please keep making the videos and more importantly keep up the good work! P.S. stay safe out there. The videos along the highways are frightening.

    Congrats Trent really pleased for you .Noticed a bit of bitching in the ranks (not especially this video) . I look at it this way. You are only young but that doesn't give people the right to be disrespectful towards you. You have done enough tow's and recoveries to know what's right and wrong and have been tutored by some good operators . End of the day if other people don't like your way of doing things then by all means let them pass on their methods but with respectfully. I cant abide condescension . Your at that point where age is irrelevant. Now its just experience you need. With the crew you have around you I cant see that being a problem . . After all its not like you are stupid by any means and unwilling to learn, If its passed on to you like they would want to be spoken to themselves. Here's to the next 200 great videos and a prosperous future in which ever path you chose to work. Daz UK.

    Congrats to you for hitting 200 videos. DEF, aka PITA, lost count of how many issues I've run in to with adblue here in the UK, injectors clogging, bringing on 'dash light bingo', and in some cases damaged catalysts, first warning sign, the vehicle not using any adblue, the original formula was also highly corrosive here in the UK, and would actually dissolve tarmac/asphalt

    I have my remote on a stretchy neck lanyard then the back of it lightly velcroed to my vest or jacket so when I bend over it doesn't go forward and get caught on things. But I never lose it.

    Why do you wrap a chain around the fifthwheel and frame?

    • @seanbowers6439
      @seanbowers6439 5 лет назад +1

      Holds the axle up for clearance, as well as protects the airbag. Air bag is made to lift weight not hang it.

  • @gc3826

    Trent, how about using zip-ties instead of electrical tape to tie the safety chains?

    how often do you have to tow because of diff fluid issues ? Has plaza's fleet ever had any issue with Diff system's keep the vids coming thank you

    • @Chrisghy27
      @Chrisghy27 6 лет назад +3

      Not Differential but DEF - Diesel Exhaust Fluid...truck probably went into limp mode which will cause the motor to tremendously reduce power. He might have ran out or low or something with regen issues. Would have to go to a shop/dealer to clear computer

    Do you ever need to secure those side fairings when towing backwards, seems like the wind would bend them. Great video!

    • @jimmydonegan606
      @jimmydonegan606 6 лет назад +1

      The Peterbilt fairings are pretty sturdy

    • @plazatowing

      Some you do just depends on the overall sturdiness.

  • @ricardoalvira1969

    Why didn't u hook the other side of the safety chain where u put the first hook

    • @cohhx
      @cohhx 6 лет назад

      It has no clip, but he could have just hooked them onto the tow fork boom and used a bungie from chain to chain on the underside to keep tension on them.

    I notice your safety chains aren't crossed over, as many people say is correct when towing. (I don't have any knowledge in this regard, so I have no bias one way or the other.) Your thoughts on this practice?

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад

      I always go straight. Otherwise, chains would scratch the underlift. Thanks for watching!

    Is this episode why did you put tap on the chain

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад

      on longer tows I like to put tape to prevent the chain from popping off when hitting bumps Thanks for watching!

    • @kittykat999a
      @kittykat999a 6 лет назад

      a zip tie seems better?????

  • @tjbenator
    @tjbenator 6 лет назад

    So, what's holding the truck to the underlift? It looks like it was just tied down to the forks at best, but nothing holding the forks down but gravity.

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад

      The truck is held down to the underlift with chains which essentially sandwiches the forks between the axle and underlift. It’s not goin anywhere

    • @tjbenator
      @tjbenator 6 лет назад

      Plaza Towing 15:18, all I see is the left side going around the underlift. Maybe I missed something. Compared to some of your other videos, this looks kinda strange. Anyways, keep up the good work :)

      Also trent, why not use zip ties on the saftey hooks?
