- The New York Islanders have made their initial roster cuts. We'll discuss some prospects who were sent down to Bridgeport and whether they made progress in training camp. Plus, the battle for the final forward spots on the roster which will be an interesting one.

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders made their first round of ✂️ no surprises they've gone to Bridgeport for more developing. I like the way Patrick Roy mixes and matches just to 👀 what works. Now that the ✂️ have started, the competition really starts. Matt Martin and Keith Kincaid is still there. Oliver Wahlstrom scored a goal, but still lacks consistency. The Islanders looked good against The Devils on Friday 🌙. They've got The Flyers tonight at UBS Arena. The way they've been known to go at it, they're going act like it counts. HAPPY 🎂, JOHN SIMM. A hard working winger who can put the puck in the net. Hear from you later, Gil and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

Gil why is it that everything has to fall on Lou? You and I both know he’s terrible.
That was my bigger take away with maxim is his lack of speed I just assumed because he was a Russian he could fly when they signed him
Die hard isles fan here.maxim is going to be real good. I believe foudy will be good and i believe a trade will be made to get rid of walstrom. As for as goalies hogberg and kincaid. With skarick who has tons of potential.
The next round will be interesting because none of the remaining forward prospects are waiver exempt. Fasching, Foudy, Wahlstrom, Gauthier and Karlstrom can all be claimed. If Foudy, Gauthier and Karlstrom keep doing well, one way to protect them is to waive Fasching, Wahlstrom and Engvall. I think that opens up enough cap and roster space to retain all 3. Someone may claim Wahlstrom, but Engvall and Fasching aren't getting claimed.
Good morning team! Gil, excellent show, again. Looking forward to the game against the Flyers tonight. Even though it is only preseason, I have revenge in my heart, and want to avenge that loss from last week. In my opinion, except for Maggio, I agree with the cuts that have been made. I'm going to agree with the majority of the comments here. If Engvall doesn't start to show something, we may have to find him a new home. That same statement really goes for anyone. If you want to be on the Islander roster, your play should show it. Your play should be so good, it is in your hands to force the organization to keep you on the team. Everyone, have a great day! I agree, Engvall definitely doesn't deserve to be on the roster. Can Lou even wave Engvall?
Yes, but I doubt Lou admits he made a bad signing, even if Roy want's to send him down. Nobody will claim that $2.25 mil contract, but it would free up $1.15 mil in cap.
