Gauthier can be waived or traded. He didn't do anything in Bridgeport either. He is a "looks like Tarzan; plays like Jane" type.

Engvall is horrific. I don't care how they get rid of him. But dump him before Wally or anyone else! Shane on Lou for the trade & resigning, he knew what this guy was from his time in Toronto.

@LockedOnIslanders Islander fans & organization will continue to suffer for Lou's mistakes long after he is gone. What message does it send to keep a guy who refuses to provide anything to the team? They should at least bury him in the minors. He is the new Josh Bailey (when Bailey was at worst or usual), guy who hurts the team, won't play hard doesn't care, & we are counting down the days until that contract expires.
positive-11 duclair could be the third wheel winger for 13, 14. 7 typslakov could be line 2 winger for 29, 21. That could give isles two solid top lines.
The bottom lines are a shitfest of overpaid bums and slugs that shouldn't be on an nhl roster mixed with two first round busts.
negative-the third tier back-up goaltending past 40 is shaky and unreliable. I'd be worried if isles had to go with a third tier back-up for a long stretch during season if 30 is out for a while knowing 40 can't go every game. Or if both get injured forget about it, isles are cooked. Louzer should give lennox some playing time to see what he can do in pre-season.
And 21 is a ? mark if he will/can score 30 again going on a hot streak while staying healthy for once.
I don't count on Palms staying healthy and scoring 30 again. Ideally, the time to trade him was this offseason because he's unlikely to match that production again. I am concerned if Sorokin is out for a long time, Hogberg will have to be an effective backup Thanks for the comment and LGI.
Hey Gil - When it comes to the pre-season I don't pay attention to the final score. So the final 2-0 meant nothing but what did make me happy was the play of Marcus Hogberg especially if Sorokin will be out for longer then a few games because he played calm and relaxed . Next thing was the amount of shots on goal the Islanders had on the Flyers # 1 goalie who also played well but if we had our 1st line I think we would of at least earned a point. The last thing was the play of Maxim Tsyplykov and his ability to get his shot off multiple times during the game and also I'm impressed with the release and accuracy of his shot and the fact he has some size and his age keeps him calm under pressure. I'm pretty optimistic for when the entire team gets on the ice on Opening Night Oct 10th against the Mormons from Utah lol. Lets Go Islanders !!!
I don't worry about final scores either in preseason. I like the way Hogberg played and yes, the Isles got shots but couldn't convert any of them. I like what I've seen from Tsyplakov so far. I hope he can keep it up once the season starts. Thanks for the comment, ssbouncer. LGI.
I guess senile Lou is still in charge. Telling st. Patrick he’s got to play holmstrom on the second line. When we know players like engvall and holmstrom aren’t his cup of tea. He doesn’t belong on the team. Only reason he was called up was because he’s another teachers pet just like mdc. Simon with his 5 points gets the call but iskhakov with two fifty point seasons can’t get a sniff. Smfh let me know when the fossil retires or fn dies.

Engvall could be 3rd and Tsyplakov 4th to start the season. Or visa versa. We'll see. I think Tsyplakov can be top six pretty quickly if he continues to play well. Thanks for the comment, James. LGI.
Been impressed with Cholowski, he is composed with the puck and makes good decisions. Much better than Bolduc, Bolduc looks lazy and uninterested. Bolduc is terrible in his on end, clueless at times. Cholowski should be the 7th D IMO. Amazes me how Bolduc is still being considered as an option. Last game against Philly was terrible. For the past two years Bolduc has had no intensity...all the skill in the world, but no Juice.

hey Gil any chance of the Islanders leaving MSG and finding a better TV outlet? I know the game was streamed on ESPN+ but once again if feels like the Islanders are second banana to the landlords the NY Rangers.
They're locked in to MSG for a few more years. After that, it will be interesting to see what they do. The Rangers and Knicks are top priority at MSG Network for obvious reasons. Don't think the Isles and Devils could form their own network so they'll probably stay there. Does SNY or Yes make any sense? I doubt it because then you're second banana to the baseball teams. Good 🌄, Gil how are you? The Islanders got blanked in Philadelphia last 🌙, but some positive did come out of this, and it is preseason. Marcus Hogberg was solid in goal. Maxim Tsyplakov was solid, too. The 2nd line was impressive. Pierre Engvall could be better; however, it is preseason. They've got The Devils tonight at UBS Arena tonight. Anthony DuClair is living up to his expectations so far. Barzy and Bo, looked good, too. I think Patrick Roy wants his first look at Keith Kincaid just to 👀 what he can do. HAPPY 🎂, CRAIG JANNE. Before I go, I got to tell you, I was 👀 Game 6 Semifinals against Buffalo. The Isles were down 2-0 in the 2nd period. 🏒 Night in 🇨🇦 was broadcasting the game. The broadcaster, either Dick Irwin or Gary Dornhoffer said that Bossy was rather quiet because he hadn't scored a goal. Boss must have had a listening device in his helmet because right after that was said, Boss scored. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

Thought Hogberg looked great. Very pleased!! Hey Gill Thought u might make reference to sumthin from last night? But maybe I was just making to much of it? But did you think sumthin was wrong with the ice last night? Saw a bunch of guys from both teams blow a tire last night. Lots of guys losing control of the puck or just flat out over skating it. Idk but I thought that played alil bit of a impact on the game? But I guess both teams had to deal with the issue if there was one.

Good morning team! Gil, I have a positive outlook for this season, but reading some of the comments, I see some have doubts about that. I see a lot of positive signs from the preseason games thus far. Hopefully there are spots on the roster for everyone I like right now, but I know that can't be the reality. The players that are on the roster when the season starts, that will be the team I will cheer by butt off for. That being said, everyone, have a great day and wonderful weekend! @@LockedOnIslanders Good morning, Gil. I'm excited to see what our newest additions bring to the team. Tsyplakov, and Duclair. As for the rest of the team, let's do Horvat, Barzal, Nelson, Lee, Palmieri, Holmstrom, Gauthier, Pageau, Cizikas, and Engval. Of course these are all forwards. Haven't thought a lot about our D yet. Not too sure of the line combinations yet. I like what Roy is trying to set up, playing players at their not so normal line. He's going to find he'll be able to switch up lines and there might be chemistry on multiple lines. Could come in handy when we're playing away and don't have the benefit of the last change.
