Yet again, the new Criterion release announcement day has made for great cinema discussion! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Daisuke. I was so thrilled to see The Roaring Twenties in the announced titles. Having recently given Humphrey Bogart a lot of thought and being a big fan of twenties decade era theme, I can know with great certainty that I will love this film I have never seen. The hype you build for it with your dvd story and I recall your consideration for a gangster series 2.0 on your channel... I've also had a major hankering to go back through a favorite series of mine, Boardwalk Empire, which is also set in the 20's and I can see a roaring twenties theme in my life going into 2024. There are thankfully many films and television series that capture that era perfectly. The Eric Rohmer set definitely seems intriguing to me. It will be interesting to see if it will get the digipak, enlarged dimensioned release or a regular plastic casing akin to the Michael Hanake trilogy that only had slightly larger dimensions but just one spine number. Typing that makes me wish sincerely that they would consider multiple spine numbers to adorn the side of the box. With the recent news of Richard Roundtree, that Shaft release needed two bold spine #'s to represent the TWO films in that release. It would have better commemorated the films in my humble opinion. I always love to hear you bring up the movie professor you knew and the films you were able to rent from the library there when you were younger. I can't wait for a chance to pick up this Four Seasons set and see what we're working with there. The other films seem interesting, as all Criterion titles usually do and I love your enthusiasm for them, but those first two that I mention really have my attention. I just know they will be perfect additions to my collection and how much I'll love watching them for the first time & hopefully many times. It is hard to believe that the end of the year is fast approaching and that you will be announcing March's release announcement before you know it. Hopefully the rearranging of your shelves, the November Barnes and Noble sale and all the Criterion talk you are having will make for an easier time ranking your favorite 2023 releases! I cannot wait to rank my 2023 first-time Criterion watches. It will be interesting to look back on these releases years in the future when they are considered older in the collection. It is always fun to consider series of 100's in the Criterion Collection and where you might consider those series of 100's stronger or weaker, with box sets in-between, etc. etc... Fun times with Criterion this month of November 2023, and may the good times continue to roll into December!! I've been watching some good movies including Halloween 5 multiple times! It all came rushing back to me how much I love that film when I rewatched it thanks to you, my friend! So much more I could say. Also, I really dig your newer effects you use on your channel such as showing the cover art design right next to you. Looking snazzy! Thank you for all your hard work putting these discussions together. I look forward to these announcements and your comments each month so much. Great reactions as always, my friend. Cheers!

I am happy to see The Heroic Trio/Executioners on this list. Took long to finally get a physical release not with a standard Blu-ray/DVD version but a Criterion Collection Version.

Criterion is getting all my money this month. I wanted McCabe and Mrs. Miller for years, but with Criterion updating their back catalogue to 4K I’m glad I waited. So along with that I’m picking up The Roaring Twenties, Nothing But A Man, and The Tales of the four seasons set.

Your positivity and enthusiasm for both Criterion and cinema at large is so inspiring and needed. I also love your insights into every review/discussion you have. Keep up the exceptional work!

Looking forward to your reviews of the Browning set and The Others. Daisuke, is this a trend you plan to continue, i. e. discussions and reviews dedicated to each new Criterion release? The thought has me pumped up.

Thank you for your interest and yes!
I have been doing videos on all of the recent releases since 2021. I usually do it on a very relaxed schedule though.

The Heroic Trio and Executioners is one I'm looking forward to. I have the Tai Seng VHS and DVD releases as well as the Hong Kong laserdiscs as well. Eric Romer boxset is another for me as I've never seen any of his films.

Cowboys and gangsters in 4K on Criterion. Americana at its best. The Altman film is one of the great westerns of the last century. THE ROARING TWENTIES is one of Warner Bros. big genre releases in Hollywood's milestone golden year of 1939. Both are must haves.

Roaring Twenties is the film I’m the most excited for. The other films sound interesting, but I’m really looking forward to seeing the Roaring Twenties in 4K. Thank you for the video Daisuke, I hope you’re doing well. Take care!

I’m looking forward to getting The Roaring Twenties on Blu Ray when it comes out. Loved Bogie in both In a Lonely Place and High Sierra, so it’s nice to see another film of his getting the Criterion treatment. Plus it’d be interesting seeing him alongside James Cagney and Priscilla Lane.

On Nothing But A Man and Michael Roemer I’m fascinated and sorry if you’ve already answered this in a previous video but I’m very curious where did you study film?

I think you own the Arrow Academy box set called The Éric Rohmer Collection, so if you liked the Comedies and Proverbs films, you'll really like the Tales of the Four Seasons; very similar in tone and style.

The Roaring Twenties is a good film, but thr not the best Bogart or Cagney movie not yet on 4k.
I'd love to see White Heat and The Desperate Hours come to 4k.
