People are always hating that the younger generation is into bands like Lamb of God, but this is solid material for a new generation of metalheads to get into. If they can dig this instead of the other shit being shared among kids these days (not going to name drop artists) we should be thankful nonetheless.

So, it’s also confirmed, this song is about PTSD. As a marine, I think about and listen to this song all the time. “You chased the dragon, but it followed you home” is such a powerful lyric. Love lamb of god, always hitting hard

@@edog6324 i'd heard it was actually a mix, aka it was about soldiers getting addicted to cope with their PTSD.
@edog6324 both come hand in hand in many cases. We usually get the addiction into a state of recovery. The PTS is much harder to cope with. This coming from a combat vet who coped using opiates and is now 13yrs sober.
My God... What a performance. Everything in this song is a masterpiece! The singing conveys a lot of emotions which resonate with my inner feelings. The guitars, drums, my God, this is SOMETHING!!! I just can't stop listening to this! Cooking dinner and headbanging to this song, so do my cats.

I've been to countless concerts of all different genres and I'll tell ya, as a 5'2" 115 lb little lady the only show I ever left with bruises was Lamb of God. Not because I was assaulted but because I couldn't contain myself with the energy this band puts out. The front 20 rows were bolted to the ground seating and I was pressing myself up against the seats as I was chanting the lyrics because I was so moved. I am a music lover. It doesn't matter the genre. I appreciate the thought and pure artistry that goes into the composition. Kudos to this most righteous band 😉🤘

More specifically, this is about an american soldier going to war in vietnam, then picking up heroin as a way to deal with the stress, but even when you get through difficult times (the war) your old behaviors can remain, so he retained his heroin addiction coming back from the war.
