      I'm glad you appreciate the video and how I made it its own thing. My original plan was to have the drainage layer/false bottom, building out the front and installing the glass. But then I would have had to cut out some of the details with the ceiling. I'm glad I decided to chop that into 2 videos. Stay tuned for part 4!

    I appreciate this channel. I've been puzzling to build large bioactive vivarium with water feature for my growing leopard tortoises for a while. One I have to do will be so large it has to be walk-in, almost zoo exhibit style enclosure taking up 3/4ths of a room for the ease of cleaning, maintenance etc... Watching your builds have been helpful. Since there's lots of flat area I've been thinking about panels of fogged plastic to use as light diffusor to get skylight sort of look for the ceiling (maybe with pull out drawers like you had in your other video to access the lights), but then again I do need exposed lights for the UVB lights and basking lights. I like the "hidden" floodlights placed on an angle here.
    In depth setups for (custom) thermostats, light dimmer schedules setups etc would be nice.

    It's feels like the only thing missing from the realistic light cycle is some form of low light at night, even something like a dark blue bulb.
    Other than that, this is amazing, and I plan to build something similar eventually 😁

      I agree, I have a fluval aquasky I was gonna use, but I like the arcadia and how it all links together. But if you're looking into something with even a more day/night cycle looking into those. I have them in my last paludarium build. It also has options for cloud passing over and lighting storm simulation.
      U did give me an idea, though. I'm gonna look for a moon image light I can mountain on the ceiling in the center of the reptile room so everyone can enjoy a moonlight. Amazon, here I come 😆

    This is a perfect setup. The only thing I think that could push this over the top is if you added a dimmer to your lights to have them slowly transition on & off to add that rising & setting sun affect. But besides that chefs kiss

    • @bradsbioactivebuilds
      @bradsbioactivebuilds  Год назад

      Thank you!
      And i agree, I haven't looked into if there is a way to have the basking lights dim on slowly or not. They are on a set dimmer switch. But once turned on, they automatically go to the setting its at.
      I was thinking of adding a fluval aquasky I have that I can set sunrise and sunset times. I might add that to the enclosure, and it would just be the 1st light to come on and turn off.
      Decisions, decisions, 😆

      Thank you and good question. I have the mistking nozzles are pointed away from the lights. The one in the center (DHP) only comes on for nighttime heat (from 1130pm to 430am). But the lights them selves are flood lamps used for outside. Also, that's why I installed them above the enclosure. Not only to maximize space but to reduce water if it was to get onto them. The uvb has its hood that would redirect the water if it came into contact with it. Hope that helps woth your question.

      I was surprised on how strong it was just by attaching insulation board to the wall woth spray foam. I had a few gallons of water on it with not sign of it breaking. But it really depends on what kinda topcoat your gonna be using. In this video (attached) I was able to sit on the ledge with no issue using polygem zoopoxy. Hope this helps

    Does the govee smart plug turn back on after a power outage (or at least follow the timed schedule and automatically reconnect to wifi)? Only reason I’ve never felt safe switching to smart plugs.

      I have had the power go out a few times, and I have not run into an issue with govee smart plugs recalibration. (my fluval lights get all messed up if the power goes off but they are Bluetooth. and have to reboot them but not my govee smart plugs) I know they were working on some bugs with daylight savings time. I believe they resolved the issue, but I still just turn off my internet on those 2 days a year for 15 minutes and turn it back on to be safe.
      I'll let you know what happens this year with daylight savings.
      Hope this answers your question.

    Hello there
    I one of your vidéos you're using an external heater.
    Wouldn't it be à fire hasard if the canyster fails an the water stops flowing througth it

      I believe it has a kill switch if water is not running through it if I remember correctly. I'll have to go back and read the details. I honestly unplugged it because the temp was staying in my desired range for all 4 seasons of the year. It's still nice to have the option if needed, but it was just wasting an outlet that didn't need to be used

    What are the dimensions of this enclosure again?

    • @bradsbioactivebuilds
      @bradsbioactivebuilds  Год назад

      8x4 and just under 6foot tall but taller than 6 foot with the heat lights ontop creating more space inside of that makes sense.

    How long total did this take you and if you were to sell it how much?

    • @bradsbioactivebuilds
      @bradsbioactivebuilds  2 месяца назад

      @amandafarley6469 it's hard to gauge how long cuz of the recording and editing videos takes a lot of time to. But with all that it took 252 days. About 2 months of that was waiting for the plants to root.
      Message me on IG and I could tell u what I would sell something like this for, but it's definitely not cheap
