There is a cliff that the downhill side needs to pass over, but the uphill side doesn’t. That tower was built to give the downhill side enough height to pass over the cliff.

This lift replaced a yan high speed quad in 1997 known as greenline
Greenline was where the current Emerald 6 runs. This one replaced Redline, and this is now a six-person chairlift.
