oh my god, a kal on that heart sweater in a dusty pink for valentine’s day sounds like a genious idea!! I’d be so so so up for that! Barely got through the video so far but had to comment haha I also loooove the new location and that dusty purple looks STUNNING on you 💕
omg i'm getting SO excited to host that KAL now!! love the enthusiasm as always, you're the absolute kindest wiktoria 💕 i feel like the lighting makes the color of that sweater look so good in this location, will definitely be filming here more often hehe (also it's so practical as i'm basically sitting at my desk, huge win!)
i have a few of yucca's sock patterns, and they are so incredibly well-written! the pattern is very simple yet concise, and has a really balanced amount of detail. at the beginning of her patterns, she offers a schematic, a legend with all the abbreviations used in the pattern, and a handful of relevant tutorial links. i'm currently working on the yuki watari socks and they are my first cabled sock, and it's genuinely taking me forever 🙃it's definitely worth it though!
I love the Brady Loop by Other Loops. The minimal cables seems to make them all the more a focus; and I think a great option for a beginner to dip their toes into cables.
I am planning to cast on the Elara cardigan by emknits, which is a very simple cable knit cardigan. It will be the first garment I've ever made for myself. I have four daughters, and I've knit them hoodies and sweaters, but I got some lovely yarn on vacation and want to knit myself something. This pattern roundup is beautiful, and I love your suggested color palette!❤🧶
So many nice patterens, thx for all the research you have done.So inspiring. As a Norwegian I will compliment you for your Norwegian pronunciation, you are spot on. So much so that I was sure you had some Norwegian connections
Thanks for a fun video. I already have more than enough heavy sweaters, but I really love the What a Catch and can see it working well in my climate and wardrobe.
The Heart Chain Sweater has been on my list too! I haven't tried KFO Heavy Merino or Soft Silk Mohair yet, and am dreaming of ice blue or dusty artichoke
If I were a beginner, and someone who didnt want a time consuming knit, Id make a cardigan with one column of cables each side of the button band. If you work a round neck , bottom up design it will be a simple matter to work a hood instead of ribbing around the neck if you had 100g leftover. I rarely use hoods but I like the look and the warmth they add to the shoulders and neck.
I would love to join you in knitting a Heart Chain cardigan for Valentine's. I subscribed to your channel today, so I will know when you post the KAL announcement. Great video. I always enjoy watching your episodes.
thank you so much for subscribing! happy to have you here 💕 i'll definitely be doing the KAL as there seems to be a lot of interest (yay!) 🥰 probably somewhere in january! keep you guys posted 💗
Pachira sweater is so beautiful, I dont know why its not very popular yet! So many beautiful items, thank you very much! Saved Asterism socks for my plans 🤎
i absolutely agree, that would be stunning!! wiktoria from blank stitches texted me she test knit these socks and they were for sure a challenge, so i'm excited to hear about your experience in your podcast should you end up knitting them as well ✨
i have a masters' degree in english linguistics, so the funny thing is i actually know this 😂 just a silly mispronunciation that slipped in there! you noticing gave me a good laugh, though!
@@candidknit I thought it was a very cute mistake and loved that you would know either of these relatively uncommon words. The only reason I corrected the mistake was for the benefit of the rest of the class . Your English is superb :)
Oh, I love your current colour choice for the baguette cardigan. It'll look like an outerwear garment and it suits the style of the jacket. The baguette cardigan was the only cable piece I wanted to knit, but now the Auguste cardigan is also on my list. Don't you find Peer Gynt itchy?
omg that's such a big compliment, thank you!! ✨ i haven't really used peer gynt myself if i'm being very honest, but my mom has and she says she's 100% fine with it! i guess i place a lot of trust in her experience, we have similar sensitive skin 🥰 (edited because of a little typo)
thank you! i talk about it in my everything i knit in 2023 video and in my (more recent) video on knitting according to my seasonal color palette ✨ it's my elevation loop sweater by other loops & i used filcolana pernilla (dusty lavender) held with isager silk mohair (12) 🪻💜
@@candidknit I'm not entirely sure yet. I might go for Lana Grossa Merino Uno in color 29, but in some pictures, it looks more bubblegum pink (which is not the look I'm trying to go for). I'm also a bit worried about doing such a big cable sweater in merino, since it might get quite heavy and stretch too much. Maybe I will check out your highland wool suggestion. I will definitely add a mohair, like in the sample pictures. I think the fuzziness really fits the Valentine's Day vibe.
ahh, i see! i would strongly recommend the peruvian in that case ✨ for a wool it feels a lot like a merino but it has a bit more stiffness and structure indeed! i knit my grandfather's moby sweater in that yarn and it's been holding up quite well (although he doesn't wear it as often as he'd like to because he's afraid of ruining it 🥹)
Just discovered your channel, and I really enjoyed watching you going through the different patterns and the yarn suggestions. Maybe you should do a Christmas sweater/cardigan/accessories/socks "roundup" in your next episode? 😅And by the way; I think you pronounce the Norwegian words / names perfectly! 😀👏
thank you so much for such an incredibly kind comment! i was actually thinking about doing a christmas pattern video next, and you've just further convinced me i should 🥰✨
Love the suggestions! A few I have been obsesessed with lately are: Siri Cardigan Solo by LeKnit, Uyuni Cardigan by Suuko Knit, Must Have Hat by Wool & Beyond, and Minou Scarf by Luisa Rehkopf
i have noticed but tried to ignore it a little bit haha, it really would be too cute! but i'll have to wait until i have my purple set as i already have the hat done and the yarn ready 🥲 i'm thinking the next set could include the flowerknot hat and mittens in pink or blue ✨
@@candidknit Pink or blue set sounds so cute! I'm actually picturing that set in a slightly icy light blue. That would be so beautiful and would also suit you. 😊
ohh thank you so much!! that's my elevation loop sweater by other loops, i held filcolana pernilla (lavender gray) with isager silk mohair (12) 💜✨ (edited due to a little typo)
For the tessa sweater the short rows are for sleeve shaping (so you have less fabric in the underarm) if you want wider sleeves you would omit the decreases along the sleeve
thanks!! am i mad for thinking of omitting both? 👀 for some reason i think it would look so good with a more chunky sleeve, especially a deeper one too!
The perfect video to watch on a rainy Sunday evening ❤ For Fridagagenser (day off sweater❤) I don’t think Rauma Vams is discontinued, at least not here in Norway, but you could substitute Sandnes Garn Fritidsgarn, if that would be easier to find.
thanks for the very kind and helpful comment! something must have gone wrong when i was researching and taking notes for this video 😅 i added a note in the description to hopefully pass the information on further... also not me clearly being overconfident in my norwegian skills 🥹 fredag in dutch is vrijdag, so i guess i must have confused that there 🙃 (oh and if you noticed me editng out my mistake now, no you didn't 😂) i really appreciate you commenting! 🥰
i tend to use drops yarns when my budget calls for it. but if i can afford to, i'll always try to choose more ethically transparent brands to use! so of course, i prefer for my recommendations to follow that trend as well ✨
I love pattern round up videos! I would be up for a heart sweater kal. I bought a book I think last spring that has all cabled patterns. Its called “Cable, Knit, Style” by Joan Ho. I think you’d like the Willow pullover from this book, but there’s a bunch more. they’re all on ravelry
thank you so much for letting me know! i seriously contemplated leaving them out because of accessibility issues, but those designers really deserve some hype as well
oh no that's terrible! i must have been so busy with my notes that i didn't notice, i'm so sorry! i'll message the designer, maybe she could grade for more sizes and see whether people whose sizes are not yet included want to knit it as a test, i've seen that done plenty of times 🤍
that's very sweet of you to say 🤍 i think i will be messaging them myself even if you decide to do so yourself as well! it's unfair for the burden regarding non-inclusivity to fall only on those who are excluded... and i also feel like if i'm hosting something like a KAL, it especially becomes my responsibility to see to it that it is inclusive 🤍
