WAVE NOUVEAU is a COLD perm and you do not go under the hair dryer. I hope that helps as a lot of people call a curly perm Wave Nouveau which is not the same process.
You are absolutely right, wave Nouveau way is not made for heat and you never blow dry that hair. You can use a diffuser in your blower to get the excess water out of your hair without blowing your hair all over the place.
Sweetheart when you first get any curl, the first three to four days the looks thinner and the roller parts will show. After the four day it finally fills out and your parts are gone. I think it looks good. I just wanted to share ti stick with the finishing lotion and finishing mist. You will get your best results because they are made for this chemical. Enjoy your wave!❤
I think it’s so amazing how ammonium thioglycolate can be used so many different ways! I get the Japanese straight perm with it, but I wanted to say I think it’s nice that you have instructional videos and advice for the Wave Nouveau on your channel. My mom’s hair is a bit thinner lately so I’m considering transitioning her hair to the wavy version since the straight shows her roots. I’ll be doing more research and consulting stylists on Oahu in the meantime ❤

I stand corrected... we didn't use Ferm by Avlon. I was mistaken. We actually used a perm called Essation Bouncy Curls. However we used the Ferm curl moisture retainer products.

There are times when I will use a wide tooth comb. I believe it happens the most when I am moisturizing my hair and then scrunching it up so I try not to do that often.
Yes gel can be used. I know some people are against it but my beautician uses it. She recommends using a water based gel. I have tried several and have not found one that I love just yet. So far it has not caused any issues with my hair.

Peach and Orange rods are the same diameter. Purple is just one step down. It is not going to make a significant difference. Using rods large than purple gives a wave not a curl. Just because she used a wave Nouveau doesn't mean that she has to use Wave Nouveau styling products.
Shedding is natural however, you want to make sure you are not experiencing excessive shedding or hair loss. Talk to your beautician about your concerns. You may need to have several protein conditioning treatments.

I am so sorry 😞 My recommendation would be to speak with your beautician or go get a second opinion from another stylist that specializes in this type of service. You should also start deep conditioning treatments every month and if you are using a lot of heat in your stop that immediately.
Sweetheart is you are not using the finishing lotion and the moisturizer spray , you will have extreme shedding and then breakage. You should be applying the lotion to the hair and scalp every two days. In between use the moisturizer spray. You may need a trim but this will stop your problem unless it needs over processed. 3) rinse with water.

I don't recommend it. It's best to wear it curly.
You are not suppose to use carefree on a wave no way it has to be all three Step 1 Step 2 and Step 3 😮
