Thanks for your posts! Been watching them since Feb. My first time to Paris will be July. Since i am going solo (and dont speak French), i been very nervous. Your posts have given me confidence.
On aime beaucoup ta chaîne ! Tu es un ambassadeur de la France et de Paris sur la toile internet ! Merci beaucoup pour toutes tes belles et intéressantes vidéos !! 😊 😎👏👍
I am keeping a journal of what to see next time I visit Paris. So the umbrellas were at the Le Village Royal? I really didn't catch what you were referring to. Is that a high end shopping centre? Thanks.
Your Mission Impossible comment made me want to do an IMDB search for movies filmed in France! Now that I've been watching your vlog and following you, I feel like having a Paris/France-themed movie marathon.
Loving the 20-in-20 series, Jay - really helps make sense of all of these different areas. Plus negotiating skills to cross a Police line too...impressive!
HAPPY Easter Jay and PUXAN!. Thanky you for your Morning tour. Beautiful and sunny with beautiful colors being shown by those gorgeous blooming florals!
Dang, Christopher beat me! I was up late talking to my parents who are in Paris and number 8 video just popped up. Naturally what's staying up for 12 more mins. It's only 2 in the morning... Hey Jay, my parents had a waffle at the Peloton Café on route to Perpignan today. They say "Hello" and a virtual wave to you!
Parc Monceau is super nice, especially when the flowering trees first blossom. My ex works in the 17th and we lived near Line 2- I spent a lot of time going to Métro Charles de Gaule - Étoile to go to movies at the Georges V movie theater. It’s local to the people who live around Étoile and there are some Parisians who frequent the area, just not really the Champs Elysées much, it’s true. I was sad when the Virgin Megastore closed, though. They had a great English book section and stationers, plus a restroom, on the top floor. I loved stopping in there.
Jay Swanson It’s not a huge “hangout area,” more like a “pass through.” I always loved popping up the escalator at Étoile and seeing the Arc de Triomphe at the top. That was pretty special. 😊✨
We were in Paris the last time over Thanksgiving. The only reason we walked down Champs-Élysées, from Place de la Concorde to Arc de Triomphe, was to see the Christmas lights. Then did the most touristy thing by eating at the McDonalds.I have to say the Paris McD has some options you won’t find stateside.
I'm glad you found a way to navigate through this arrondissement on Saturday! In 8th arrondissement I recommend you have a look at la chapelle expiatoire. This chapel is dedicated to Louis XVI and his family. It's hidden in a small, cute garden next to gare Saint-Lazare. It has this weird royalist vib. It's lovely and interesting.
can you do some saturday farmers markets, and even some covered markets. when i visited paris, i made sure to rent an apt with a small kitchen so i could at least do some shopping, and cooking of meals. on various days i visited a couple of farmers markets in the city to compare which ones were really good, and which ones were just ok. i also discovered walking around a few streets like rue de levis that had a concentration of food stores.
You'll see one in my video on the 1st in this series, and you can search my videos for the Bastille and Versailles markets which feature a few times - I'd like to hit more for sure 😊
Excellent video, Jay. Too bad you had to make detours because of the closed streets. Just a suggestion. People might want to visit the Musée Nissim de Camondo when in the 8th. It's a lesser known museum so probably never crowded.
Thanks! Continuing to enjoy your 20 in 20. I think I enjoyed the umbrellas of le Village Royal a lot more than you did! (By the way, “village” is masculine and pronounced ‘vilaj’ not ‘viyaj’). Looking forward to exploring more of the less well-known arrondissements. Cheers, Fred in NYC
Thank you for the tips Jay! The wife and I will be there next week. Staying at the new Hilton on Astorg nearby. I'm really hoping to hang out at an old- school jazz bar, with classic jazz music, not the new funky stuff. Do you have a recommendation ? It could even be at an old hotel. This is a relax and "Unwind" trip for us.
Are all the stores on the Champs-Élysées closed on Saturday? I wanted to visit the Louis Vuitton store next month on a Saturday. Also, just became a Patreon!
I agree about the Champs Elysees being overrated!!! I did have to get macaroons at La Duree though!! We got to our hotel in the 17th (Hotel Ampere which was very good) and wandered to Arc de Triomphe the minute France won the World Cup!!!! We got great pics when we walked up to it but then 10 minutes later there was a sea of People there. It was a great experience!!! One I will never forget!!!
Hey jay! Visiting Paris soon but only for 2,5 days, and I was wondering if I should find places to eat before I go? Im basically only gonna have 3 lunches and 2 dinners, and I really don’t wanna waste a meal in a “bad” restaurant. Hope you understand my question 😄
Sure! I actually wrote an entire guide to the city if you want to look them up in advance based in where you'll be staying bit.ly/ParisVloggersGuide Just be sure to check in advance that they're open to save time 😊👍 Have a great trip!
Well wow, so this is where they demonstrate on Saturdays? Glad you could still maneuver. A few years ago a small beauty influencer went to Paris with two friends, and stayed at a hotel on the Av. des Champs-Élysées and they drank incredible hot chocolate and ate lunch at a famous restaurant on same street... I don't know the name of the place but I will NEVER forget the video of that hot chocolate or lunch!!!! (4 exclamation points, the video of that lunch really embedded itself in my brain)... So when you get to film anything food Jay I implore you to pass the camera over it S L O W L Y. Is this the arrondissement that also has L'aduree (known for their macarons and other specialty items)? Pretty pretty stuff, beautiful, which I saw in another video a few years ago... And it's time to stop writing this book... Thanks Jay and Happy Easter to all!
Thanks for your posts! Been watching them since Feb. My first time to Paris will be July. Since i am going solo (and dont speak French), i been very nervous. Your posts have given me confidence.
I'm glad they're helpful!
You will be fine, I only ran into two people who didn' t or wouldn't speak English.
Jennifer Isaiah thanks!
Kristie Zilis How was it??
He's made me know more about Paris without me visit the place... 😄
=)
On aime beaucoup ta chaîne !

Je parle français car tu connais cette langue 😛 ! 😉
Thanks Jay! Loved the umbrellas! ☔🌂☔ Happy Easter!
Happy to share them! =D
I am keeping a journal of what to see next time I visit Paris.
So the umbrellas were at the Le Village Royal? I really didn't catch what
you were referring to. Is that a high end shopping centre? Thanks.
Carol McCoy The umbrellas are Rue Royal. That’s between Place de La Concorde and the Madeleine Church (on your left)
Your Mission Impossible comment made me want to do an IMDB search for movies filmed in France! Now that I've been watching your vlog and following you, I feel like having a Paris/France-themed movie marathon.
I have had similar cravings that I simply haven't acted on 😂
Loving the 20-in-20 series, Jay - really helps make sense of all of these different areas. Plus negotiating skills to cross a Police line too...impressive!
Haha, just gotta show them where you're hoping to go and why.
HAPPY Easter Jay and PUXAN!. Thanky you for your Morning tour. Beautiful and sunny with beautiful colors being shown by those gorgeous blooming florals!
So much color to share! =D
0:01 I don't think there is a beach in Paris..... :(((
Great series! I also like the umbrellas. We'll be going to Dollywood this year and their is one just like it there. Keep up the great work! 🌺
Happy Easter Jay! I’m loving the 20 in 20 series! It just means I need to stay in Paris for several weeks instead of just one! 🤪🐰
#fact 😊👍
HAPPY EASTER ☂️☔️☂️
Merci!🌷🌸🌹🌺🌹🌸🌷

I forgot about the Virgin megastores! And yeah, I used to go to the UGC theaters over there back in the day too =) But that was about it haha

Thanks for your posts!! I’m loving the 20 in 20 series. 5월에 파리가는데 잘 보았습니다.

Je suis d'accord !😊
Loving the 20 in 20. And was that a Badger look-a-like in Parc Monceau??? Miss that little guy.
A younger more spry Badger 😂

Sounds really cool
Och another great vid.Love love love your work
Thanks!
St Madelene looks lovely adding to the ever growing list to check out. Also Zaz did a cover of Joe Dassin’s Champs Elyesse
That Joe Dassin footage made my day 😂
Joe Dassin gets frequent play time here my landlord asked if it was Tom Jones singing in French when he was fitting my new washing machine 🤦🏼♀️

My favorite district is the 8th. I don't think it's overrated at all. It's also very close to the 9th district and the famous department stores.
Excellent video, Jay. Too bad you had to make detours because of the closed streets. Just a suggestion. People might want to visit the Musée Nissim de Camondo when in the 8th. It's a lesser known museum so probably never crowded.
Yes…everyone needs a little Pishan in your life. I am totally convinced he is a Bollywood actor posing as a commoner in Paris. Lol
Love the tourists in the background. Did you plan that?! Very clever! ; )
Maybe? 🤔🤷♂️😁
J'aime le Parc Monceau!
🌳🌷😊🌷🌳
I'm partial to the NOFX cover of that song myself
😊
Just before you said it, I thought : that street is from the new MI film. Puxan is the happiest-faced friend of yours!😊 Happy Easter!🐣🐰☕️
He's got a great smile

La Bohème Montmartre i found a little space invader with an aerosol spray can on a wall here by accident hahaha😂 is this you?
What's that place with umbrellas called, please?

Definitely the spot to go after a world cup win! I went there too 😊😊

Having the streets to yourselves makes for a nice side effect to the protests I suppose
Cute dogs and Game of Thrones looking things I'm there. The news makes the protests look really scary. Ugh. :(
They aren't scary at all, at least they're small and easy to avoid.
Joe DASSIN was an American artist like you ;)
Huh, I didn't know that
