In my experience for the many wealthy people I've hung out with in the U.S. It's the new money people here that care about all the little details like brands/etc. The old money in the U.S. show up in their pajamas, not caring. Cause the new money people have something to prove, the old money people care less.
It's different in any country, like Germany for example they just showing up like normal citizen and we only know that they're from wealthy family is when they're at someone party or ceremony. In Japan, it's a mixed between showing off or not and in Korea you will see the more well-dressed they are the more wealthy their family from.
