Absolutely here for Badab War slow grow. I've got a big force of Minotaurs but have been planning to start an Astral Claws and Tyrants Legion force recently - perfect opportunity to start! I'd also suggest checking out the Boarding Actions rules as something else to run around Combst Patrol level. It uses the same terrain as Kill Team and is only 500pts, so usually a couple of squads and an (optional) character - personally some of the most bloody and fun games I've had in warhammer.
Badab War sound like something that could actually get me doing 40k again. Although I have no idea where to start with Kill Team, at least I could set about aping a combat patrol box with older models.
@@joesturn7740 I've actually spent the time since watching this digging in to find out more and knowing that I can run a Tactical Squad in Kill Team is enough for me to begin with.
That Prospero terrain looks very cool, and Bobby's Imperial Fist army is bonkers. That massive D20 Mira is giving away is a thing of beauty. Ian's got a "Dead Animal Bits" sticker 😍 representing for Pete the Wargamer. I hope that Ian get's Mira to do a theme song for the Badab War campaign, using "Barbaras Rhubarb Bar" as a basis. Those Word Bearer infantry are smashing.
I haven't participated in any Tale of Four Gamers stuff, but a badab war sounds like the perfect excuse to do so. I have a tortuga bay model for Tyberos, but I also deeply adore lamenters and mantis warriors, so ive got some thinking to do
I thoroughly enjoyed my day of LI gaming, thanks! It was great to see all of the lovely armies and to play on the Prospero table in particular. We should do it again some time :) I have plenty more tiny Word Bearers in the pipeline too, I have enjoyed painting them. Thanks for the shout out.
The Badab War sounds like a good excuse to perhaps play some games using the Boarding Actions rules and terrain. Possibly as another point in the force build process between Combat Patrol and Full Force games.
Based on your recommendation lan I have just popped by Bad Moon Cafe to see what’s going on, what a venue! Definitely going to take my Blood Angels along for a game soon! And then to top it all I walked by a table and thought “I recognise that voice”, it was Russ. Amazing 🤩 a little bit fan boy struck at 47yrs old 😂
I love the Imperial Armour Badab War books; the tale of the Secessionists and fall of the Astral Claws. Going to be a great Tale of Four Gamers to look forwards to!
Great news that you're going to do Kill Team! Will be interesting to see which teams you go for, hopefully some of the Xenos/Chaos teams get a look in, even if you do end up proxying them with Imperial models to fit the Babad theme.

You could always use old models and play something like Planet 28 or Rogue Hammer and use the Badab War as the setting.

Agreed. With all the void engagements going on in the early Badab War, Boarding Actions is a very flavorful game mode.

Bad Moon Cafe sounds similar to Ancient Robot Games in Edinburgh if a little bigger.
Rather than Badabs maybe you could do Goodglutes.
The rapid fire rule has been matched with the AT version of the rule which didn't have an equivalent to the assault rule
