Hi David . Another David here from UK. What a fabulous and informative channel. I'm forever trying to compare boats and it's very difficult so great to see it so well laid out . I have a similar situation with Aurora . We tried blasting around in a monohull in the Solent and did a delivery in the Med and although she loves sailing ,however heeling is a definite red line after trying to cook at 45 degrees , so cats it is. Like you I lust after a fast spacious cat for a global adventure but that's a giant leap for babe kind. Slowly slowly - I have bought an owners Lagoon 40 in the Med with a charter company , its slow , stable, tons of space in that master and en suite. However I'm an idiot for not getting a FP - so much sexier and I quietly lust after a 42 . A little faster , more room etc . The strategy has worked, She is now super keen to go sailing as much as possible and positively refuses to board a monohull. You have slightly ruined me with the Portofino though 🤪. If 2 or 3 like minded reliable Brits got together to buy one for 5 years, I'd be in as realistically I'll only get 4 weeks sailing over the summer anyway. It looks stunning 😍. Anyway I loved your review of the FP 42 and was surprised it scored so well so may swap in a few years . All the best David
@@navalgazingatcampdavid maybe take Sylvia to the BVI on a moorings 42 Leopard cat. ? Easy sailing , nice and warm . If Sylvia doesn't like that your going have to start a golfing Channel. Come on Sylvia 🙂 Aurora describes cat sailing as sitting in the sunshine by the sea having a cold drink while hubby knocks out an amazing bbq. 😀
@@davidwebber6956 i actually laughed out loud at the golf comment. Re the BVI …That is exactly the advice that Seth from HH gave me. I better get on it! Thanks for your wife’s comment I will certainly pass it on!!
Dave, why don't you pull the trigger for the Balance 442 because Sylvia would like that? If you ordered the Balance 442 now, you would take delivery in 2028 for your returement.
Oh my friend, THAT is a loaded question. Like asking is a Van Gogh worth more than a Matisse. Totally dependent on your taste and application. Neither is big enough for me to get Sylvia on board. Lol!

Hey Marc. I’m hoping to tour the 442 in Miami so we will get a read on what Sylvia would say within a month or so!!
@Naval Gazing at Camp David, Hey Dave, it would be cool to meet up with you at the Miami Multihull Show. I will try contacting you to coordinate.

I have a special question for the astrea : is it worth the extra cost with the Isla 40 ?
