      @stephjsinclair hey, I'm queer (specifically asexual and gender-fluid) and technically disabled as well (dyspraxia and Autistic spectrum in my case).
      Labour might be slightly better but not by much!!
      What we need is a government that will radically change things and make sure its not just respite but changes that can't be easily undone in 5 years time!!
      That's why I got actively involved with people who pushed for voting reform so that a Tory majority (or indeed any majority) would be near impossible in the future so that every future government needed to embrace diversity and work to represent everyone.
      People whose political ancestors created the concept of pensions and the welfare state in the form of the People's budget and the Beveridge Report.
      People who fought for equal marriage, which would be internationally recognised, rather than having the bare minimum (as civil partnerships were) forced upon them by the ECHR!!

    • @quintuscrinis
      @quintuscrinis 7 месяцев назад

      @stephjsinclair I say Labour will be more of the same because that is the experience of history, and I, along with millions of others in this country, can't afford the revolving door of consensus that the two sides of the Labservatives have been giving us for almost 100 years now. We don't need respite of a few years with a party that has only one policy - not using the name Conservatives - we need a proper change, not a few months of respite, we keep getting that and it hasn't helped anyone.

    • @quintuscrinis
      @quintuscrinis 7 месяцев назад

      @stephjsinclair they pledged exactly the same in 1997 and did nothing!! Then, in 2011, they refused to support voting reforms. Starmer is of the same group of thought as they had in charge, then so will almost certainly do the same!
      Similarly refusing to support basic reforms in 2013 and 2014. Or attempts to hold the government to account over Brexit disasters in 2017-2020! Where were the citizens assemblies when we needed them then?

    • @quintuscrinis
      @quintuscrinis 7 месяцев назад

      @stephjsinclair as for being able to win, that's what I was told both in 2017 and 2019!! Indeed in 2019, there were about 100 seats that were told that and got a Conservative MP with a majority of less than 600 over a Liberal!!
      Even last year's election results showed that Labour can't win in many places but a Tory could be displaced by the Liberals. The Conservatives lost about as many seats as in 1991, but Labour still only gained about as many as that same year and the 1992 general election saw that same old message of only Labour can win trotted out with the result it left - 5 more years of the Tories and then a period of a Labour that did very little of note!
