    I pretty much did the same thing except I used 1/2" sprinkler system poly pipe. I buried the flexible pipe and now have a diy underground sprinkler system. Don't have to connect/disconnect hoses and all the heads are Hunter pop up rotors. Saved thousands of $. I even connected backflow preventers to each timer port.

    I installed the quicksnap sprinkler last weekend at my parents and love it!

    This is phenomenal. I haven’t seen any video or product like it. Great idea for DIYers who don’t want to install piping at this point. Thanks!

    I have the orbit spike sprinklers. I like that I can run a hose from one sprinkler to the next and only have one connected to my spicket. I will say I like the idea of the pop-up sprinklers, looks cleaner.

      As a follow up to this...there is a video with the quick snap that tells you how to daisy chain them. Makes them even more attractive.

    I like the idea of the quick snap sprinklers.... that being said, bury some 1/2” or 3/4” irrigation (poly) tubing 6 inches or so in the ground and just use the same timer that you are using now.... I did this for next to nothing with Melnor timers and basic sprinkler heads. It works like a regular professional sprinkler system and costs no where near as much ...... no more dealing with hoses on the lawn !!!!!!!

      I actually like leaving mine above ground as I often depart from using the system to water my parkways. But, I like the idea 💯👍

    Did you use the support bracket that came with the orbit timer? I purchased the quick snap . Did you need to change the nozzle that was already installed to get such good coverage?

    I got a bunch of those melnor plastic sprinklers and was going to suggest you check them out. They are like $4.5 at Menards. I can Daisy chain 3-4 with 10ft hoses and tune them to water narrow areas. I bought a cheap 75ft hose and plastic male/female hose ends to make multiple short hoses for this purpose. One thing I was going to ask is if you have tested splitting to multiple heads from one splitter or chaining them together like a below ground irrigation.

    Great video! Play therapy watching the sprinkler start up and shoot! Very satisfying! I’m about to get a set of these quick snap sprinklers to plant. I’m considering a piggybacking two of them up with a permanent underground hose but I only have a 2” well. I will have to test the pressure before I plant two of them together. Curious if you recommend any certain hose for putting under the ground permanently?
    Also have you had any regrets, problems or leaks with the orbit or would you recommend using a different one? I’m considering getting one of them to start and stop different sections same as you.
    I’m curious how long battery life lasts

    I looked, but didn't see a video. How do you winterize your quick snap in ground sprinklers?

  • @dylan8285
    @dylan8285 4 года назад +1

    Just dig the lines to each head in the ground. The hoses drive me crazy all willy nilly all over the place connected to everything. A buddy of mine did that, dug a line to 4 sprinklers and connected to hose timer although he connected all four sprinklers together and it just barely covers everything he got lucky with his water pressure handling it

    • @i3oosted

    Hey Jake, do you need a back flow preventer for the time to the spigot? If not why? Thanks

  • @hongsitu3429
    @hongsitu3429 4 года назад +2

    Not sure how this is any more convenient. U still have to monitor it. You still have to move something. Now u have an extra step needing to plug it in. Seems more work to me.
    How far is the front door to the edge of your front yard? You could just hook up a few Hunter Pros with Orbit Bhyves.

    • @currier6306

      Firstly you don’t have to readjust them every time and they stay in the right position. Secondly, you can set it up in such a way that you just leave the hoses out and put them on a timer. So it’s night and day different.

    • @jakestoe
      @jakestoe 4 года назад

      You get to leave the sprinkler in the same spot without adjusting each time plus you can mow over them..

    Jake, I see all the different hoses on your system; any recommendations on value/quality of big box garden hoses or premium ones online?

  • @randallhunter3912
    @randallhunter3912 4 года назад

    You can buy adapters to put on everything else so you can just use the quick connect on everything including that some sprinkler

    • @JakeTheLawnKid
      @JakeTheLawnKid  4 года назад +1

      Yes, I'm very aware of that and LOVE that about the adapters. I can also use these adaptors to connect hoses to my zero turn wash ports.

    If i set station 1 at 5am for 60 min will station 2 come on at 6am, etc on sched A or will they all come on at same time. Idon't have the water pressure to do all at once. I just used one by using all three shed to time one at a time but think i can stagger each time on sched A, ut thoughts?

    • @JakeTheLawnKid
      @JakeTheLawnKid  4 года назад +2

      They all run individually in order from 1 to 4. Yes, if runs for 60 mins, the next will come on right after. I hope that makes sense.

    Just a thought but i’d recommend making a a more permanent in ground system like what I did so you don’t have to bother with hoses but do what works best for you

  • @sarathbe

    Suppose if I install this in zone 3 of my backyard, DO I need to turn on sprinklers in zone3 to activate this Quicksnap or is it automatically put water because the sprinkler usually have pressurized water always?

    • @sarathbe

      Jake, so this runs only when the particular zone is turned on right?

    You could just set the timer to water every 2-3 days....also, you are young bro, get a good workout and dig some trenches and use either pvc or funnypipe (ask toro to send you some) to rid of the hoses plus it’ll be a good video for us noobs.
