hello lovely people! if you're looking to apply for the winter 24/25 season in whistler with the mountain, feel free to use me as a referral! ID: 374528
Thank you so much! An amazing vid! I’m from the UK but currently in Aus and desperately want to do a ski season in whistler 😊 Are you able to apply for multiple roles as I’m not really fussed what I do, just want to experience mountain life and snowboard the season away
Yes of course! Just apply for a bunch, that’s what I did. Don’t bother applying for manager positions though unless you have experience. But if you’re leaning towards a certain department definitely push for it :)
Hi Caitlin, Thanks for you video! Have just started applying for a bunch of jobs through the whistler site as they have only just opened up recently. I was just wondering how long after you applied were you getting contacted for interviews/when were you officially offered a job? I understand that the housing process is a bit slower but were you having interviews/offers around the August mark or later? Thanks!
Hey! That’s awesome that you’re coming to Whistler! I just did a little search and saw that I had my interview August 12 and was offered the job on the same day :) so yes expect August for things to happen for WB jobs! After that point the information will come more slowly. All the best!
Hey, you've got the best advice! I am planning on moving to Whistler next year, did you go through a company to help you with your jobs and accommodation, what is the website you showed on the screen ? I think i want to go through The Working Holiday Club if you have heard anything about them from friends you have met over there?
I didn’t go through TWHC (The Working Holiday Club) because I wanted to save the $$ and I had already done the visa myself. However it’s a great option if you’re not feeling confident in the visa process and it’s a good way to meet people in the beginning. But if you want to save yourself some money, it’s definitely easy to do on your own if you do lots of research to get familiar with the systems and terminology :) always here to help if you have any specific q’s! Thanks for watching!
thanks, do you know the situation with visas from the uk do you apply for them after you’ve got the job and everything sorted or is the wait for them too long ? also if your planning on staying year round whats the situation if you have been working on lifts for work and housing. many thanks
Hey! Great Q! Definitely make sure you get your visa first, it’s a much longer process and some countries only open for visas certain times of the year! The visa can take a few months to get approved. I just talked about this in my recent q&a if you want more details! And then for work it’s pretty easy to keep working from winter to summer or to get a year round position if you have a qualification (trade, management, etc).
No you should be okay! There are plenty of jobs in town for winter, but the hardest part is just getting housing. So if you’re late to that it can be harder but not impossible! Good luck.
thank you! do yk if most “with the mountain” jobs/departments offer free ski season passes if you’re working full time for a full winter season? or is that just for snow makers, patrol and liftes?
Indeed we do! Full time and Part time staff get a free pass if you work for Whistler Blackcomb :) there are also a lot of other great benefits too like free lessons, discounted food, discounted retail. Other businesses do offer some sort of ski passes I believe, but I don’t have much knowledge about that side :)
Yes they do! They always joke about how they dont need to visit Australia because they already met so many of us here 😂 but its great, I feel like aussies and Canadians get along so well because we grew up in such opposite places that it makes each other interesting!

What do the local Canadians think of us Aussies? Do they like us?
