      Do you think someone who is 6’5” 280 could drive this? I am looking at getting one with a 9hp engine (John Deere model) for my wife to truck my 2 year old around the yard. But I might want to drive it a little too of course.

    Dingos are awesome!
    I had one when I was a kid. It came with a 8hp briggs (flat head) and was later upgraded to a 10hp tecumseh. I rode the literal wheels off that rig for ten years of my young life. This video makes me remember smelling like gas and mud😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁Awesome memories. Thanks for posting.

    You should take an aerial photo of the property either using a drone or Google maps satellite view and trace out your track layouts. Manco is known for hexagonal axles, I had a go kart with the hexagonal axle, I prefer them more actually, because with a lot of power and torque, it greatly reduces the risk of breaking a key (because there isn't one) and it has pozi. But you're limited to rim's and tire size, because of the shape of the rim.

    Hi guys. I put the same Mikuni carb kit from Amazon on the same 6 hp Tecumseh. I had the same results as you guys except for when the engine gets a few hundred RPM above the rated factory speed the engine bogs and cuts off unless you throttle back. If you throttle back the engine smooths out and will run all day. You can take off at full throttle and the engine accelerates like a beast but when it reaches that certain rpm you have to let off for it to smooth out. It seems like it’s not getting enough gas to support the high engine speed. Would re jetting the carb fix this? If so do you know the procedure for re jetting it and where can I get the jets?

    • @deadlife357
      @deadlife357 Год назад

      Most definitely, your engine spinning at a higher rpm means more air intake, which means you need more gas flow to compensate for the higher air intake

    Tecumseh engines; Stock they do ok but they do a whole lot better once the governor is bypassed or removed. Port out the intake manifold a little bit and tighten the valve lashings and replace the stock muffler with a straight pipe header. The mikuni Carb is a must with a straight pipe exhaust. If yall swap that stock muffler with a straight pipe, tighten the valve lashing and bypass that governor, yall will notice a huge difference in power. Speaking from personal experience here... I promise you guys, you will not be disappointed.

    I just did a series on my channel of fixing up my Manco Dingo IX! It was my very first motorized machine when I was a kid and is still in great shape. It’s got the 9hp Briggs and Stratton and Rips pretty good. The only downside is the lack of suspension so I’m taking the motor from it and transplanting it on a Baja 65 cart frame that has full suspension, rack and piñon steering, and hydraulic brakes. Should be a much nicer riding cart than the Dingo!

    Thought the hex axles were pretty standard on most or all Dingo's, or at least the older ones. I jumped my 13hp "high performance" one and it hasn't bent yet, and I'm 200lbs.

    • @MAD450r2
      @MAD450r2 4 года назад +2

      Only reason mine bent was a friend clipped a tree at 35mph only caught like 3 inches or so. All the leverage bent it easily. My dad brought it to his work and put in press he straitened it. The guy i sold mine too put a 3 inch wider axle on it and stretched it added rear swingarm was much better for big guys and smoother with just rear suspension
