2 weeks away from my x1 M35i in the UK. Would of gone X2 but delivery dates are September maybe later. Not sure why the X1 doesn't have aucstic glass or l.e.d front grill. I think US cars have option for Sport plus in drive modes
When l first clocked the X2, l can understand why some people say that the car is ugly, but once you look at the car again esoterically, you see that it’s actually a good looking car. I have a big problem with BMW grills, and admittedly the X2 took some getting used to, but it works.
Pick mine up on Monday!!! I don’t get all these rough reviews?!? And really unfair to compare it to a X4M or x6M… at almost double the price for the x4 and 2.5 times for the x6… I’m happy with my driver purchase!!! And value for the money I drove pretty much everything under 70k from large suv to compact and this was the winner hands down! Way better than the CX40, Audi 3 or 5, and at way less money puts the F Pace to shame!!!
Great review 👍 And a huge round of applause for knowing how to work with a mic in windy conditions. And another round of applause for stating your height so viewers have an idea of fit. One suggestion. Maybe use a tape measure for a quick depth, width and height measure of the cargo space ?
That wind was something else. Was 100% sure we couldn't get the sound right. Yes, I always like to state the height, even though some people said I was constantly bragging about that. But I think it's quite important. Will get a tape measure for future reviews and use it
Got my X2 28i HEA full loaded package… these vids are so off unless the x35 is that rough… mine with the Veganza seats are so comfortable and the adaptive suspensionZzz from pot holes to Gravel to train tracks was like driving on a cloud…. Too many reviews are hung up on the it’s not a true M car… no kidding it’s half the price… but the power, torque and drive are class leading in my opinion!!! 1000% happy with my purchase and to have one of the first delivered in Canada!
In Canada an X2 M35i is 70k the X6 M40 is 148k Even an x4 M starts at 98k and full load easily hits 130k I’m just saying for a car in its price bracket it crushes anything else out there in the same price bracket… it’s a really nice fun car with tons of power even in the 28i
What I meant was front-wheel drive platform, so you can feel that as you drive. In comparison, the X3 is xDrive also, but it sends more power to the rear and has a different behavior. Maybe I should have been clearer. I always assume everyone knows these little details :)
Good review but I would considered the target audience a bit more. At 55k real enthusiasts will likely opt for an m340 or used M2. This car is for families that need something practical but still want some sporty-ness. I think all prospective buyers are aware that this is a compromised “M lite”vehicle so I think treating this review with that context would be more helpful. Regardless good stuff!
Agreed! M Performance cars should always be as powerful as M cars. In fact, BMW should just discontinue the M Performance line entirely. Causes way too much confusion and constantly gets compared to M cars. Why make two different cars when you can make one? There is no way these two lines can exist at the same time. I mean, quad tips?!? That’s so confusing when you see them on anything but M cars. Ugh!
It needs to have black roof bars to finish it off and blue brake calipers. Shame it hasn't got that brilliant B58 Straight 6 amazing engine. It has a 560 litre boot bigger than X3 M40i boot you got that wrong.
Hey, BMW Blog… Having g driven both X1m35i and X2m35i, they are similar, but not the same. The X2s slightly longer wheel base does create a bit of a different vehicle handling wise. It rotates differently, and transfers weight and drive (to the rear wheels) a bit better. Your opinions on the qualities of this X2 are a bit unique, and differ from other reviewers… but hey, that’s what opinions are!
Yes! Pls do. Especially after you drive it for a while. Unfortunately, we only get the chance to drive it initially for a few hours, and sometimes our perception of the car changes when we drive it for longer.
Early days, but I’m not keen on not being able to switch off the stop/start! The constant warning sound of going above the speed limit, which has to be switched off every time you start the engine. Apart from that, for now it’s a nice comfortable drive.
Further to my previous post, I have had my X2 for a month now, so what do I think? Generally, it’s a nice comfortable drive, but it’s a BMW in name only. My previous vehicle was an X4 M40i which had that premium feel about it. The engine was great and the gearbox was superb. The X2 just feels like an everyday run of the mill European car. The gearbox is quite different in the respect that the first gear change is very quick and it’s not so responsive when accelerating to overtake. Holds the road very well and corners well too. Fuel consumption is not great, averaging 28 mpg. Slowly getting used to switching various functions off on start up. Lane departure, speed warning and stop/start.
I pulled up on an x6 the other day i love the x2 look over it hands down… I love the non “bubble” look of this that Audi, Mercedes and frankly everyone else is going to… I personally love the unique chevron style brake lights… Can’t wait to get behind the wheel for an extended drive
Pretty honest review. Compared to X1 the X2 has no rear window wiper/washer, no spare tire, poorer mileage, less room, bumpier ride, same lag/lurch from a stop. So a tiny bit faster on a curve and a different look, and for more money!
Said someone who hasn’t shopped for a car since before Covid? You can barely get a base model SUV with AWD for 35k LOL loaded Mazdas are going 55k+ nowadays! Bought my F150 Tremor 3 years ago for 60k same model today is 85k…
@@kevinnagle2235Well genius, I’ve actually bought 5 brand new cars in the last 7 years. My current vehicle is a 23’ Raptor with the 37 pkg. I spend plenty of money on new cars all the time. I’ve also owned BMW’s in the past. So I can comfortably say, I don’t see a 55k vehicle when I look at this BMW
I agree with giving the M135i, the X235i and X135i more M characteristics (such as the tail pipes that are not precisely the same as M models), as BMW will never offer these models in a complete M variant. The M240i, the M340i and M440i will never get these tail pipes because the M2, M3 and M4 already have those tail pipes.
Man, you are driving too many super sport BMWs that made you forget what a car that transports people from A to B feels like. No offence ofc. Thanks for the video
@@bmwblog May be but i like more the old design. This, new X2 appears a little of BMV , hunchbacked, for me the ugliest model.I didn't forget the model. However ,this is my on opinion.

Such a disappointing engine choice for the top trim, the M35i. Opting for a 4-cylinder engine in what could have been an exceptional blend of sportiness, character, and performance feels like a monumental lost opportunity. The decision not to fit it with the B58 engine-a powerhouse known for its thrilling performance-is baffling. Equipping the X2 with an engine that doesn’t deliver the power to match the M badge feels like a step back (even though it is an "m-light".) It’s a stark reminder that the automotive landscape is changing, and not always for the better. Larger BMW models may offer the horsepower missing in the X2, but they can’t replicate the feeling of driving a nimble, sporty car-a feeling many of us are unwilling to forfeit. It isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about what makes a BMW a BMW.

Very bad review. You just compare it with other m products presenting it average car and just personal thinking. Do you believe that everyone has the money to buy the m cars you dream ? The worst review
BMW X2 M35i or X1 M35i?
X4 M40i
Apples and oranges though

That's a valid point. But this is not a cheap car either and it's not a full M. The more realistic comparison would be X3 M40i and X4 M40i
Great review 👍

Yes, but the M2 and M340i are very different cars. Not in the same segment

I think this is aimed at those who want a premium brand smaller suv with a different typical suv design. I mean, to me it looks good to be fair.
The design is 90% fine.

True. I didn't realize it was slightly bigger, but very comparable
Have you driven a GLA? What's your opinion? My wife had 2 Current model GLAs. Can't wait to see the difference
I have not recently. Sorry.
Is there anyway we can compare x2m35i and Porsche macan pdk?
We will try one day

i’m looking at this, the m228i grand coupe or the ct4 v cadillac in the summer. probably will end up with cadillac

The trunc is bigger than the x3. What is the gut takling about?
Slightly bigger. Yes
Quick, but not fast enough for those quad tailpipes. Doesn't put out much more than a mildly tuned 230/330i.
X1 for me
Why?
X1 looks uncle
Bmw x2 m35i or bmw 420i?
Tough choice. Very different cars. I would still say X2

There is no other engine to use. They cannot use the B58
Do you want it to be another 12” wider for 2 more cylinders?
Where is the sun roof on this car?
There isn't one
Fun daily
they overuse 'M' here and there.
It's too much. Are all models 'M' ? It's really boring.
Yes, a bit too much, I agree on that
The latest BMW designs seem to be inspired by the Bionicles. They look like the've been made out of a kit for 11 year old children.
😊
Your conclusion makes no sense
Very incoherent design language, the front and back end are two different cars.
Apparently they tried to connect them via the lights. I dunno
