Just ordered a belt from y'all last week, and before putting it on I decided to watch this video. So many nice little tips, like protecting the paint from getting chipped, or mentioning how the belt is supposed to be loosely tensioned rather than tight. If I need more featherweight parts I am ordering from y'all!
Thank you for your clear warning at the start of this video, I was watching it prior to replacing the belt on my machine and my (engineer) husband came in half way through and said "Oh, yes, simple. You just do this and that and hey presto" and I insisted that no, I have to wait til the end because I have a plastic motor pulley. So glad I did. I'm gradually teaching him that following instructions TO THE LETTER can be amazingly beneficially! Many thanks.
I've removed the screw from the bakelite pulley but it will not pull off. I don't want to pry it off as I'm fairly confident that will break it. I've put in a little penetrating oil with the aim of putting it where it will creep onto the shaft (with the end of shaft/pulley facing down so none can make its way inside the motor). If it doesn't budge at all with turning and pulling are there any "advanced tips" you can share please? Or am I best at the stage just to clean it all and pop the screw back and in let that be that? Thanks for any advice from anyone, including other readers, if you've had this problem and figured out how to overcome (or have a cautionary tale!). Ta... Megan
My motor needs to be lowered now that I have replaced the belt on my white FW so that the belt is tightened because the belt won't turn. How do I lower the motor?

Your video was great. I was able to change the belt and adjust the motor height so the new one works perfectly. Thank you.

Many thanks!! Piece of cake, thanks to you!
Please note in your video that once the belt is on, show tightening of the screw and how to insure it is not too tight.
He has another video for that.
