  • Shadow Falls is a unique urban waterfall hidden in park right in St Paul Minnesota. Read about our visit here www.bigboytrave...
From powerful views of the Mississippi River and lush 1/2 mile trail leads to the secluded waterfalls that you can go under and behind the falls just like a movie. Getting to the falls is easy but try to wear shoes instead of sandals as the wore hiking trail at the end of Summit Avenue can be even and there are large drops. Consider bug spray, do not drink the water, and if you go under the waterfalls rise off afterward. The water is pretty clean but it's better safe than sorry.

At the very Western end of Summit Avenue right at the Mississippi.
It is the biggest in the Spring when the water is higher but is enjoyable still in the fall, especially with the elevated Mississippi River views at the start of the trail.
I will be posting a complete guide with interactive maps of the Summit Ave area, St Paul, and the greater Twin Cities over the next 45 days at my website.

I know where this is but don’t think it’s actually a “park”, the overlook is awesome. I know the place as “The Monument “. 👍🏼☮️

The Falls are below the bluff at the World War I memorial at the western end of Summit Avenue. It's within the long ravine that juts like a finger along Mississippi River Blvd. just north of the avenue. You can get down from the rocky bluff near the memorial, but there is also a path down from the river boulevard. I've been down there but it's been years since then. There's also a stone grotto below the former Seminary, along the river boulevard further south (beneath the short bridge that spans the spring) if you're interested.
