Once again, Brandon Foltz, proving that a great teacher can be a great teacher anywhere! Thank you so much for this logistic regression list!
*NEW* video is up! Logistic Regression in Excel, Excel Online, and Google Sheets for PC and Mac. Enjoy!
I love your videos!!! I have midterms on Monday and plan to spend the weekend with you! Hahaha!
I just watched your Stats 101 video on RUclips and had additional questions.
***** cant wait to check this out! I was expecting this. thanks:)
+Brandon Foltz What if I have more than one independent variable? How do I enter that info into Excel Miner on Google Sheets? And will forcing my constant to be 0 do any damage? Thanks for the great videos!
For me its showing dependent variable is constant, must contain atleast two class labels
Thanks Brandon!!!
I have never seen someone explaining like this. Awesome teaching style with exact clarity! It takes a big heart to help shape little minds. Since you have touched some portion of Machine Learning concepts. Just make a full series video on Machine Learning. That would be the best thing I wish I could ever have. You have proved that "The one exclusive sign of thorough knowledge is the power of teaching."
May god bless you brother!!!
I am a new graduate student and was in desperate need of a foundation in statistics. Before my understanding was piecemeal and now I feel much more confident in how various statistics are derived and how they can add insight to reading data. I watched all your videos from PL01 to PL16 and feel so much more confident understanding what the statistical measures mean and more importantly how to better understand values I see printed in scientific journals. Thank you so much for all your time, your clear explanations, and words of encouragement. You are a great educator. Albert Einstein would be proud: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
Thank you Brandon. Great way of learning with problem at hand in first place and teaching concepts based on that. God bless for your efforts and making an impact in our lives!
brandton.....you are like a GOD for statistic students....thanks alottttt & keep sharing!!
I began loving stats after subscribing to your channel and watching your video. You are the best!!
p(Excellent | Brandon Foltz) = 1.00
Many Thanks, Brandon. You totally knocked it out of the park with this series.
Awesome series on Logistic Regression! Thank you.
Thank you for the excellent tutorials. They are very well explained. It would be better if the author could make more videos on model performance evaluation and testing. Also, basic logistic regression is good to get started, but it would be more useful to have multicategory logistic regressions. Would you please explain more about various types of link functions? Thank you.
Thank you Sir . Your step by step approach and simplicity is awesome.
Thanks for this. Never knew you could do this on excel. I'm currently implementing machine learning in my third year project and this will help me sooo much!!
THANKS is not enough.. i should say more than that, I started my day with logistic regression, planned to complete in 2 to 3 hours.. i had gone through lot of stuff which lead to confusion between logit and sigmoid function..... felt bad and sad, that i couldn't make it, then your stuff came, it is SAVIOUR.. You explained very clearly, detailed every thing in simpler manner. I ended my day with SMILE with your stuff.. APPRECIATE.. APPRECIATE.. APPRECIATE... Expecting stuff on Machine Learning Algorithms too.
Another awesome series !! Thank you so much for these great videos Brandan....I got decent marks in my stats assignment coz of your playlists 8-15. Thank you so much !! Also, I kinda miss those motivational speeches at the beginning and the end of the video. They used to be really good :)
Once again and again. I sincerely appreciate your video. That is so awesome!!!!
Your explanations are crystal clear!
Excellent work Brandon. Thank you for sharing. Very informative and helpful.....
Thanks Brandon. Love your videos.
Thanks for the recomendation on the add-on. I'll use it in a class soon.
I really can not be thankful enough! This is just great! :)
Even my Biostat prof loves "Free things" Lol, Prof recommended the video and this was awesome :)
love you, man, thanks for your excellent tutorials.
Thanks a lot Brandon. This is s gonna help me in my test tomorrow :)
Amazing videos Brandon, they really helped me. Anders.
Thank you for demystifying statistics!
Great set of videos. Thank you
Fantastic job, Brandon. I learned so much from your videos. I think you could do a great series on control charts with statistical process control too.
Amazing! This video is the BEST!! Thank you so much!!
You're very welcome!
Thank you sir for this tutorial series.. it's been very helpful...
You are just AWESOME!!
Hi Brandon, I loved these logistic regression videos! You have the gift of explaining difficult things in an easy way! Do you have any videos on dealing with multicollinearity in logistic regression?
these videos were a life saver1!!!1 thanks so much
Your videos are really good, keep up the good work. Please create a MANOVA tutorial video, thank you.
Great video!!!! Thank you
Great material as always
Very helpful.. Thanks a lot.
hi enjoyed your video a lot! one thing I would add and leaned after researching was that each unit of x will result different amount of probability depending on the starting point. I for one was looking for an answer to that explicitly, but was not mentioned although you can derive that from your explanation. anyway, still I learned a lot about logistic reg in your video. thank you
Thank you so much for your great videos, so helpful.
And could you make videos about Multinomial Logistic Regression. That would be great too.
Brandon thank you for wonderful explanations, where I can find the dataset which you have used in your lectures ?
Thanks
Great Work
Superb!
nicely done
Hi Brandon,
Any plans for a video series on multiple logistic regression? Thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work!
#1 Item on my Christmas wish list is a multiple logistic regression video series. Brandon just explains things so well, and it helps me when explaining findings to co-workers!
hey do you have any video on multiple logistic regression and also on how to display the logistic regression graph with the curve?
Hi Brandon... Your videos helped to learn the statistics.. They are superb... Can you post video on non-linear models.
Hi brandon thanks for all these videos really pedagogic !! That take time for me to find them because i put anova on youtube research and your first key words is statistic 101,.Tthen i share it with all the labotarie center !! :) i want ask you about effect size and intraclass correlation coefficient if you want to continue and make others video thanks again !!!
Is their a playlist that puts these in order? Thank you for the great work you're doing.
Brandon Its not enough to deeply know statistics, you also know how to teach it and create the best multimedia material to do this. Keep doing this. Where can we get the data that you use in the videos please?
Thanks a lot for your hard work ! Can you please provide the excel document for practice ? Thank you !
Hi Brandon, Great video. Thank you . Can I request you to share the dataset with 1000 records. Do let me know.
Thank you Brandon for this clearly explained tutorial video!... Could you pls. teach us how to draw the logistic regression curve in Minitab and/or excel? appreciate
Dear Prof. Brandon, you are awesome. Thanks for these wonderful videos on logistic regression. Where can I get the raw data for logistic regression. I just want to practice the tutorial
Thanks a lot, very helpful. Can I also integrate this into my website for making surveys?
Thank you very much! BTW, how do I get 95% CI range of each coefficient value?
Thanks!
You bet! Thank you Sabrina! I really appreciate it.
Anyone know where to get the dataset? I would like to duplicate the results.
same here
awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome!!!!
Hello, I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on survival analysis?
Hi Brandon, thank you very much for this channel of videos on stats. With the Logistic Regression on Excel, I notice that the XLMiner Analysis Toolkit only caters for one (1) independent variable when it computes the Logistic Regression. Would you know of a toolkit that can compute logistic regression using more than one independent variable?
Great great video tutorial, can you share the excel file you used in the video? Many thanks!
Hi Brandon, thank you very much for your wonderfully clear videos. Just a quick question. How does excel take of a logistic regression problem with multiple independent variables (IV)? Specially, if some of those IVs are not intervally scaled?
I love your videos, I have a question: Which book do you recommend to study logistic regression? Thanks in advance, David
any video on how to actual create the plot?
and multiple logistic regression?
Thanks great series on logistics regression...
Adding to this, I have one query ?
Is there any to slipt the data set into training and test is excel (just like R ) ?
I am trying to understand if we can predict or classify things using train data set on test data set
Thanks
Sumeet
I LOVE YOUUUUUUU
Thanks for the great effort Brandon ! :)
My data does not converge it appears that i have the "perfect separation" problem, any idea on how can i apply the "Firth Bias-reduced" logistic regression on excel ? (its a small sample 30 rows)
Sir your videos are very helpful!
thanks for making them!
can we also perform multinomial logistic regression using the XLminer toolpak?
vidyasagar k Thanks! Yes, it can perform Logistic with more than one independent variable. However I would keep it to just a handful or less. Any more variables than that and you are better off using a dedicated stats program.
thank you sir :)
pls also make tutorials on Linear Discriminant Analysis
Hi Brandon,
what is null deviance and resdiual deviance in the model output
Hi. In this video, you do logistic regression to get the coefficients and then use those coefficients in the formula to get the p-hat. Can we instead get the coefficients by doing linear regression and use them to calculate the p-hat? I thought that was possible to do when I was watching your previous videos.
What prep work we have to do when there are more than one variable?
Was looking for information on how to draw the graph,
Is it possible to use logistic regression with multiple independent variables that affect the dependent dichotomous variable?
Hey Brandon, can I have access to the data so I can try this in Excel myself. Many thanks, Mickey.
cannot see xcel page
need to reshoot w better closeups
thanks Brandon
Love the vids in general tho!!
May I check if XLminer is available in older MS Office versions (Excel 2007)?
How do you interpret the Residual Dev?
I teach a stats class. Great stuff! Where can I access the dataset for this example?
Can I get the data file used for this video
hey did you get the data file for this video
please share if you have so
The dependent variable is constant, but must contain exactly two class labels. this is the popup message get it. how can fix it?
Please teach how to read the results.
where is this data-set of Home mortgage for logistic regression?
Anybody know how to run the XLMiner in Excel 2016?
Hello Brandon. Your videos on logistic regression on binomial probabilities is very helpful to me. Thanks a lot. Please do you have any videos on multinomial logistic regression.
When i do it in Excel online, this message appears "The dependent variable is constant, but must contain exactly two class labels" , What am i doing wrong? pease help me
+Rensteve Elmido The dependent variable can only be a 0 or 1
Hello Professor Foltz. You are awesome. Unfortunately, I am in a dead end, since there is not a video in the ENTIRE web explaining logistic regression when the predictor variables are nominal. Thank you very much for everything but I'm done with statistics and I will shoot me in the head just right after this post.
Hi Miguel! Good news that Logistic Regression can handle categorical/nominal predictors just fine. You will mostly likely need to dummy code them depending on the structure of the data. No self-harm over stats! :)
Wow, I never thought you will actually reply my dramatic message. Yes, I read this model fits but I guess for the matter of tutorial videos is easier to explain using continuous predictors. I am a Medical Doctor, indeed I never thought I would go this far in the comprehension of statistics. Probably It won't fit because I have 24 nominal groups (Kind of crazy) and depending on Excel. Thank you, Professor. I appreciated the work you're doing online. Besides, you're doing it for the love of teaching, everybody who has ever benefited from your vids should support you with at least 1 dollar per each beneficial videos - (I KNOW YOU DESERVE MORE). multiply a dollar per view that is a lot.. I now stats is hard but making videos is even harder, I have done it and it takes so many hours to complete until you're finally happy with the result.
You convinced me to drop the gun..LOL
This is out of date for google sheets.
The biggest problem is Excel of course is not free. Lol
