This is beautiful! For a size 3x what would you recommend for the starting chain? Thanks for your help.
The chain you start with doesn't determine the size. It will determine how close it will be to the neck itself. It's the number of rows you will be adding and increasing will determine the size. I would chain a number of chains I think I want, make the first row, place it around the neck and see if it fits like I want. If it does - proceed, if it doesn't - redo.
Hope, it helps. :)
Thank you so much! Can't wait to try this out!
I don't do math when I crochet, never did and I do beautiful work. I'm used to hearing things such as chain X multiple of six, easy to figure out and I didn't do math that I know of
Yikes

A cardigan opens at the front. Love the color and style.
I love to wear longer cardigans...it makes me feel more elegant for some reason lol. I have been crocheting for just a few weeks now, but am already in love with the craft!
AN excellent design and tutorial. So beautiful !!! Thank you so much, Lenysea !!!
Looks like a beautiful pattern! I can’t wait to try it!
Cardigan is a divided sweater with /without buttons. Pullover is just a closed sweater you have to pull over your head. I know some of the other RUclips crocheters from Europe often call sweaters vests. It must be confusing when English isn’t your primary language. You’re doing great. I always know what you mean.
Excellent sweater design! Thank you for this outstanding tutorial!!
Definitely want to get the confidence up to make this!!!! Thank you so much!
Feel different than some of the others. Love that you showed the math. Guess I'm a nerd.
Done!!! I followed this tutorial and I made this beautiful cardigan!!! Thank you very much for the tutorial!!
Wonderful, I would classify this as an easy intermediate pattern, lovely cardigan, great explanation thank you very much
Love the sweater, I'm going to try.
Love stitch studio yarn. All of it. ACMOORE IS GREAT
I will be making one of these for myself. Your work is lovely and a great tutorial.
Where I live in the UK that's known as a cardigan. And a sweater would be called a jumper. 😊
Thank you very much, i just love this sweater of yours. I have been crocheting for couple of years but have only recently started with sweaters . This is a very beautiful and easy way to design something for yourself...thank you very much. I absolutely love your channel.
Krásny sveter a perfektný návod.Ďakujem.☺🤗Jana
This is just darling! I can’t wait to make it! I’ve subscribed, too 😊! Thank you for sharing!
What size are you making and how can I make an ex large?
Can somebody post the measurements for each size I’m lost
Gorgeous 👏👏👏👏💗💗💗
HELLO, my name is Autumn and I just COULDN'T resist subscribing to your channel!!! You do such beautiful work, I'm extremely impressed and you've restored my 'spunk' if you will to continue to crochet and be patient. It will all pan out accordingly!!! Thanks so much for sharing! *HUGS*
Autumn Dear Autumn, thank you so much for subscribing and welcome to my channel! I am so glad to hear that my tutorials are keeping you motivated. Comments like yours make my day!
Me encanto Hermoso!!!
A lovely sweater. Thank you. A cardigan is just a button-up sweater. A pullover you have to pull over your head because there are few or no buttons.
I really like you!
Well done!
Cute thank you
Oh, I forgot to add. The thing I love most about your patterns is that they are very modern. My daughter-in-law is about your size so I know she will love many of these garments, as long as I can accomplish them. Love ya Lenysea!
I will make it to my self for the winter 😉😉
I loved this work and will be doing the same thing in black. When completed, will upload my pic. If possible will show you. Love you. Thanku so much for this cardigan
Thanks for teaching how to do this beautiful cardigan!!!!!I simply love it!!!!! I am almost done with mine. Later on I will send you a picture. Get a huge hug from me. Thanks again!😍🌹🌻🌷
You can put the stitch markers from the beginning when you crochet the chain. When looking at the drawing you mark the chain where you need to increase it’s not that hard , it’s a very nice and I love the pattern
From what I can see this looks awesome, I haven't started it yet but would love to make it. It seems you show us everything with the exception of how much wool is required.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I made the same in black. It came out so good. I can believe I made it all. All very thanka to u
Thanku for the love.
Hi,dear very lovely project and easy one to give a try.lovre the yarn it will be perfect for a cardigan 😘😘😘😘😘. thanks a lots lot's and lot's for the easy explaination.
Beautiful 🌷🦋🦋🦋🦋🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Waw That a beauty projet thanks
To increase the size to accommodate my back width and shoulders, do I add additional sets of 3 double crochet to increase the size in inches by increasing the stitches. I hope this makes sense, I'm new to crocheting.
How do we know how to measure around our neck tape measure or yarn thanks
what size hook did you use
Loving all your projects 💎 I just don't know which one to do first
Lyn Carson
Ikr?! They are all so nice and look easy enough to try!!
Can you tell me how many chain would I need to make size 16 uk ladies size
This is lovely! I was wondering if you could do a princess style cardigan? Having a snug waist would be so nice.
On the gray sweater, did you decrease stitches for the arms and how many decreases did you do in each row, thanks, I do love this pattern and I did the first pattern (cream and blue) and it’s huge on me, so now I’m doing this gray one, I’ve only been crocheting for a year and love it!
Very beautiful your cardigan, I can't find the sizes I need large please, thanks

Have you ever used Caron Simply Soft Yarn for your sweaters it is listed as a #4 yarn but it is a narrow or Lite 4 ? Could I make it solid by simply putting a double crochet iñ each stitch ? Your Sweater Beautiful, but I would like to make a solid no holes sweater, I Love how you teach. Sincerely, Renae
Thanks you are so sweet to share I think I can try this you explain so well.
Very good
When you attached the sleeves for the grey cardigan how did you do it since you changed from 3 double crochet to 2 double crochet?
Monica Revelo Followed the 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc pattern so the garment is cohesive 👌🏻
Hi could you please send me details of making sleeves as can not find in discription box
Very nice
Nice 👍
I liked it before watching it.
😁
Me too, lol!
Same here
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
what is the numbers if I wanted to make a small?
I have just subscribed to your channel. Your crochet projects are so beautiful and the tutorials such a huge help.
I am interested in the elegant cardigan. Am I able to purchase the pattern and if so how?
I have not found it on Ravelry or your Etsy shop.
Thanks for subscribing! I usually don’t write patterns for the video tutorials :)
hello mam...how many cheins for size medium?
How many sheins did you need for the Gray cardigan?
I can’t find the pattern in your shops on Etsy or Ravelry.
Beautiful. . Lindo. De. Chile. Mariet Suarez
Where did u buy the yarn at? Beautiful
I love the sweater! The beginning of the video was very confusing with all the "math"! I almost didn't continue with the video. Why did the sweater completely change in the middle of the video with a different color and at a different stage than the original sweater?
Thank you for writing that. I had the same exact experience...
I moved on after watching 21 x 21 Too confusing
Hi please can you please complete the first row thank you
A cardigan has an opening, a sweater/jumper does not have an opening. Many thanks for the video.
Hi my dear, thank you so much for this tutorial! I kept on working on my cardigan (I am using cotton yarn and a 4mm needle so it`s a lot of work) - anyway, I wanted to ask you since I am not an expert: how do I know "my size" and how many stitches I need for one round to make it fit in the end? I am a M person, but L would be fine, too since it`s a cardigan and it can be more comfortable instead of supertight. would be great if you could keep me some instructions or refer to a video!
Miss Miri Keep expanding the square until you can easily pinch it in the underarms. The beginning chain doesn’t matter for the size. It’s how close it will be to the neck.
@@Lenysea pinched :) !
I’m a medium too, I’m confused, how many chains did you do?
Can someone help me the part of sleeves??
Hi i like to know how crochet. Where can i go
Can't find the pattern love the cardigan?
Lindo saco💓. Un favor, se puede poner títulos en ingles o español?. Gracias.
What size is this sweater? Can it fit a person of size 44 -- 46 by chest?
Mine is sz small. The size of the garment is determined by the number of rows you will be adding and increasing.
So how do i make a big size my between 44---46
I'm super confused right now on the first cardigan you chained 84 and then you just changed it to the grey one and you chained 76? Now why would we have to chain an extra 12 for the grey one? Did you chain an extra 12?
Monica Revelo If you use thicker yarn, the stitches are larger, therefore you need less of them (grey cardi). The thinner is the yarn the more chains you need.
@@Lenysea I got it thank you!
@@Lenysea and how did you figure out that your shoulders need to be 16?
Do you have a written pattern?
How do you know how much you need for shoulders? You said you need 16...how do I know what mine would be?
When you put the piece on your shoulders, it needs to be big enough so the angles where you put the increases in must close in the armpits. I hope it makes sense :)
What would a uk size 22
I wear sz US medium. Google would be the best place to find out. I have no idea.
I Love, love, love this sweater but all the math is confusing to me. I am going to try one of your pullovers I watched the other day The Oversized Pullover it was in light blue. I think this would be easy if not for the math. But maybe down the road. Thank you for all the time you offer for us crocheters...
I see that many people got confused by the math. I will probably film another video, taking more time on explaining it better and showing step-by-step. I just want y'all to enjoy it :)
👍🏼💖❤️🌷
Love this so much. Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects with us. Anyway, is there a project for men coming soon?
Thank you for watching my tutorials! For now, no. I have nothing for men. But will definitely start thinking about something.
On the picture is only one color why is this two
How many grams is needed in total please
You were at 68K. Todat, 2 yrs later, 148K. That's what you call growth. Congrats.
Aquarian Queen Aww! Thank you! 💜
It’s surely slow, but organic.
@@Lenysea lovely designs as well! 💚💚💚
Very good.nice

started off to be a very confusing pattern..all those numbers...but eventually it made sense when you worked with the actual yarn
I love the cardigan and would like to make it; however, I do better with written instructions. Have you thought of putting the directions in a document or even just putting them in your post?
Susan McDuffie You will be surprised to find out how much time it takes to write it all out. :)
how many chain you did to start the cardigan? please and thank you....
She started with 84 chains. If you'd like a larger one, just make sure your chains are a multiple of 4 :D You're welcome :D
Why did you jump from one cardigan to another coz it really confused me
Well didn’t get an answer
Why did you change the colour... The first blue and cream cardigan was going properly but once you changed the colour and it has became difficult to crochet. About sleeves about length and width... Entire calculation is different... Sorry to say but I could not made this as the chain calculation is also different than earlier... You would have continued the same one... the earlier... 😥😥
Kanchan Tole - I couldn't agree more about your change in colour comment. I was just watching this video, enjoying the bright colours and looking for inspiration to see if this was doable for me, when BAM! All of a sudden, we are onto a different yarn, different colours and a different psttern! I liked the video up to the point that the colours and everything changed. I am really glad I didn't start making this at first blush with the video only to get stuck in the middle and not know what to do. I think this was very unprofessional and mean unless this done unintentionally. Was one video inadvertently taped over another? Not a happy camper!!! 😐
En français
The cardigan is lovely and the video is very easy to be fallowed. Thanks
How to add a color to this cardigan? It looks unfinished.
Love this cardigan but you need to give us more information for each size in small, medium and large! I don’t understand your chart. If ur teaching us you must have the chain amounts available for us, some of us don’t have the time for charts, just need to make a cardigan.
This is a free tutorial. I don’t “have to” or “need to” or “must”. If I will do all the job for you, then it will not be free. 🤷🏻♀️
You completely lost me with the increases at the beginning. Oh well. It is a pretty cardigan.
The sweater looks nice but the math was a turn off. Why
Don't you just say how many chains and stitches needed according to the to size??
Because everyone crochets with different yarn and different gauge. Plus, I don't have time to sit down and do the math for ALL sizes. That's why the pattern IS free: y'all have to do some leg work on your own...
How would you decrease while making a sleeve. I'm a newbie and I'm making this for my sis.
