Hi everyone, I'm so sorry but there's a mistake in the voiceover. For size small (shown in the video) ch 77, and you'll have 76 stitches at the end of row 1 (and for all the back panel rows). Continue the rest of pattern as stated. You can check out the full free written pattern sizes XS-3XL - forthefrills.com/cuddly-cardigan-easy-free-crochet-pattern So sorry for inconvenience!
This is so pretty! I was looking for a nice cardigan pattern and this looks great. I'm making one for my grandma! She loves the colour red, so I'll be using a bright and dark red for this cardigan.
I’m making this sweater right now. Just finished stitching the 1st arm. Soon will start the finishing edge. I’ve really enjoyed making this pattern. Clear and easy directions and video. I used Eddie Bauer Cozy Camp in Dark Berry. Such a soft rich color and this pattern really shows it off well. Thanks so much!!
Oh my gosh! Okay I commented on a slightly older video about a cropped sweater... then found this one!!! Its perfect. I think maybe I would add buttons and a wider trim to this one and it's exactly what I would want!
This is my first cardigan and I’m confused about the sleeves as I was crocheting row 3-4 sc and then add 2sc at the end of the third row til the end it ended up being the same width I thought your video at that part of the sleeves should have been a little longer to watch with you I hope you can explain what I’m doing wrong , I would really like to give the cardigan to my granddaughter thank you
I'm going to start making this, however I have a question, if I want to add the rows of the sleeve, will that make the armhole bigger or smaller? Love the tutorial anyways! Thankyou!
Salma Gomaa you should learn the basics, I’ve been crocheting for just a couple of months now and learning the basics would really help you out to make any project you want.
Thanks. I’m going to try to make this at some point. I’m sure I’ll make mistakes in the beginning. Thanks for showing us close ups because sometimes I get confused if I’m to grab only one stitch or two?
Hi,dear! @forthefrills I am crochetting now this cardigan, and i have a question. So, when we crochette the sleeve, we must repeat the raw 3,4 and 5 until the raw 50. It means that we just have to single crochette until the raw 50.I got it right? Thank you for the answer
Hi Daniela, you want to repeat rows 3-5, so you will have 2 rows of FLO SC and 1 row of increase to make sure that your sleeves will fit. You can check out the free written pattern for a full description - linked in description. Grace :)
Just finished this cardigan! Thank you for the tutorial. Super cute yet simple!!! Would you be able to suggest the chains and stitch count for kids size? My daughter wants the exact same one she says. She's 48inches and 50lb, and wears kids small size.
Hi, I'm so glad you like your cardigan! I'm sorry but I've never crocheted kids clothing before! I'd recommend using a cardigan she already owns (and fits well) and chain until you reach the width of the cardigan and then base the rest of the pattern of that. I hope this helps, Grace :)
Hi! I am getting confused about the sleeve, when you put two single front loop crochet into the front loops it doubles the number of stitches for the next row. Is that supposed to happen?
Thank you for this easy and beautiful cardigan! I am making it with 100% acrylic yarn would anything happen if i washed it? Will it shrink or have any other problem after washing? I also heard about blocking should i do that or it’s not an important thing
Hi Rana, 100% acrylic shouldn't shrink in the wash but follow the care instructions on the yarn label and you should be fine. I block my items if I want it to be slightly larger or more loose and drapey - if you're happy with the way it looks without blocking, just leave it as is. I hope this helps, Grace :)
for the back panel are we going top to bottom or bottom to top? cause if i were to switch out colors i would need that different color for the towards the top
I’m a little confused when you start the second part of the front panel you said there should be 36 stitches but aren’t there actually 38 since you chained 78? Or do you just ignore two when you go onto the second row?
Hi, if you use another stitch that will change your gauge so your cardigan might end up a lot bigger than the suggested measurements. Feel free to experiment and alter the pattern but I can't guarantee it will fit since I haven't tested it! Grace :)
Hi, since it's hard to find polyamide yarn in my country, would you please recommend another type of yarn? I think of using a cotton-blend yarn with milk fiber. How about that? Thank you!
Hi, this pattern is very forgiving so anything from acrylic to merino to wool will work - just make sure its a worsted / aran / medium (4) yarn. Grace :)
CAN THIS BUT GOING UP 2 SIZES SINCE i WANT TO USE 3PLY YARN? PATTERN BE MADE WITH 3PLY YARN? I WAS THINKING OF USING THE PATTERN with 3 ply yarn and going up 2 sizes for dimension.
Just sock it and never squeeze just let it dry aside and don't even hang it when it's wet to avoid stretching, follow the instructions written on the yarn label, yes u can use fabric conditioner.
I have to double everything. I wear a 14-16 in U.S. women's. I made the back panel and 2 front panels and it only measured half way. Same with the sleeves. My arms measure 19" around. No way 8" fits for the arms hole. I'm probably going to have to start the sleeve over about half way and just add 2 SC in the last stitch of each row.
Can you answer me please Because I am a Biggener to crochet Can I use any size crochet hook Because I have small size hook I love all your crochet I started crochet by watch your videos Thankyou 🤗 love from india 🇮🇳

I love this pattern! I'm particularly fond of how the sleeves were done. They are much neater when done your way. Thanks for the great video!

What is the space left in 4:39 meant for?
Hello. Thank you for this nice tutorial. May I ask how many skeins did you use, e.g. for the size small? Thank you in advance!

for the back panel are we going top to bottom or bottom to top? cause if i were to switch out colors i would need that different color for the towards the top
hi,what if i didnt have any space between right n left panel?
Hi please answer ok so I chorhet with my left hand. Does that mean I'm doing it wrong or is it just a hand thing, thx
Hi Tabia, It's fine if your crochet with your left hand as long as you follow the instructions :) Grace
hi what to do if the yarn finished before we finish
Will it cost me just one piece of wool?
no i used about 2-3 balls of wool
I am having problems obtaining gauge, the length is right but not the width any suggestions?
Dear forthefrills. May I ask? How much yarn you need to finish this cardigan? Thankyou!
I’m a little confused when you start the second part of the front panel you said there should be 36 stitches but aren’t there actually 38 since you chained 78? Or do you just ignore two when you go onto the second row?
You leave some stitches so you have a gap for the neck
How many yarns i will need. 300g is enough? I hope u answer ✨

Must we use the stitch you used?? Because I prefer using double crochets.
