- 12 people in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo were killed after two separate bomb attacks hit refugee camps where thousands of internally displaced people are sheltering. The fighting between the Congolese armed forces (FARDC) and the M23 rebel group, a proxy force backed by Rwanda, has displaced over 150,000 people. Kambale Musavuli of the Center for Research on the Congo gives an overview of one year of violence and explains how the Western powers are involved.

I'm following pan-African social media and many people seem to believe Kagame's rhetoric. He makes nice speeches about African unity and independence from the West.
It's not enough to be Pan-African. To be an effective anti-colonialist, we have to be anti-capitalist. An exceedingly wealthy country like the DRC should be doing infinitely better than they are. The Congolese need to work far harder on their politics and military strength. Little Rwanda is wiping the floor with them.
The DRC acts like a failed state, unable to secure its borders or provide internal security.
