  • Here’s a look at the eaglet exam with Dr. Vickie Joseph. The baby Bald Eagle from the Lake Natoma area is doing well in our care while Bird Of Prey Health Group is working to assess the nesting site and overall situation. They will determine if renesting is possible, which is of course, the outcome we are all hoping for.
Wondering what the exam entailed? During the exam Dr. Joseph, with the assistance of GCWR Wildlife Technician, Moriah, inspected wings, body, feet, head, and mouth and also drew blood to check for any deficiencies or other general health issues.
We filled with gratitude for the extent that the community has come together to help this eaglet. The multiple organizations and agencies that made the amazing rescue happen played a key role in this little one getting a second chance. We will continue to work with Bird Of Prey Health Group to do everything we can to successfully return this bird to the wild. Working together across the community is key to making big things happen for little lives!

Such a well-behaved patient. They have a very large beak and very large feet to grow into lol.
