We went out to eat with friends last night and they asked me what I liked to do to relax. My hubby pipes up and said, “She likes to watch this couple on RUclips that travels and goes to National Parks and stuff.” Yup! A+K is my go-to! 😊
Loved the video, thank you for all the tips! I had a day in San Diego today and went to Communal Coffee, Balboa Park and Embarcadero. Also got some Bobboi Gelato but at the Little Italy location. Cheers!
I have heard so much about Balboa Park and La Jolla from a weekly San Diego based podcast that I listen to, so it was nice to finally see what the park looks like. Adam with a Ron Burgundy quote for the win!
I'm so happy you went to Ocean Beach!!!! One of my favorite places on the planet. Did you walk the cliffs at sunset? Quite spectacular! And speaking of tacos, There is a restaurant on the historic Ocean Beach Pier called Walking on Water that serves the BEST lobster tacos!!!! Another favorite is the New Break Cafe which is a coffee shop that serves food right across from the beach. And no trip to San Diego is complete without venturing to Extraordinary Desserts! OMG!!! The most decadent outrageous dessert place ever. The Union Street location hits you with a visual feast the moment you walk in the door. Each dessert is a work of art and is adorned with fresh flowers. It's unforgettable!
We were up on the cliffs at Torrey Pines for sunset, but we have been to Sunset Cliffs before (if that is what you're referring to!) Thanks for the food tips! We had heard great things about Extraordinary Desserts and have it listed as a spot on our guide on our website!
Welcome to California and ‘sun’ diego. I was in San Diego from 2005-2008 and I loved every single day! Great video covering all important tourist spots!
Haha! Love the outtakes. I got to visit San Diego when the Packers were playing in Super Bowl 32. Somehow my dad got tickets and I remember just loving the vibe of the area. We stayed in La Jolla and that was my first time in Cali and I remember just being blown away coming from Wisconsin. I’ve always wanted to bring the kids back and we’ll definitely be lining up for those burgers. You all look so relaxed and excited to be there…fun to watch.
You guys are traveling so fast! Love San Diego -- I used to jog up that hill between the beach and Torrey Pines for half marathon training; seems like a lifetime ago. Great to see those views again! Enjoy your taco food tour; looking forward to seeing what you guys try! And shots of Kona: 🤗
5 months seems like a long time to get to Alaska, but there is so much to see on the way! Our videos also don't really reflect real time since we don't film everyday and sometimes spend over a week in a place without filming anything 😄 Excited to share the food tour, it was delicious!
Beautiful sunny San Diego! I have family there but I haven’t been there in awhile, I will soon. So beautiful there with so much to see, and lots of wonderful restaurants and amazing beaches. Enjoy your time in beautiful San Diego. I’ve been loving your travel adventures. Stay safe.😊😍
Oh yea! This was fun! Let’s be honest, I was most excited about the burgers and boy did they ever look amazing!!! From the way you were dressed it certainly looks like San Diego is a bit warmer than Ohio! Oh how I’m dreaming of spring! Thanks Adam and Katherine for another great vlog!
Just love following you guys. Your videos are always fresh and fun and so well produced. What a contrast going from the saguaro cactus and desert of the Superstion Mountains to beautiful San Diego, Tory Pines and the Pacific Ocean.
Well that looks a lot warmer!!! Latte flight I love the concept and the flavors sound really yummy! What a beautiful hike! Toes in the ocean always a treat!!! Kona is like a toddler wanting attention lol! Looking forward to more from San Deigo!
I lived in San Diego for three years and went to Communal all the time during my lunch breaks. I live in LA now, but SD has a certain charm that LA doesn't have. I'm glad I can still go down and visit on the weekends.
Great overview of San Diego. I once walked the beach, mostly, from La Jolla to Torrey Pines. It was excellent. There was an area for hang gliders that were fun to watch. San Diego is a really fun city!
I loved seeing San Diego again! Really enjoyed every part of this vlog! That burger was a burger lovers dream not to mention the onion rings and fries…oh so yummy! 😋 Lets not forget that really creamy looking gelato…would have loved to sample some of that! Thanks for taking us along for another wonderful area of this beautiful country!
Beautiful San Diego! Last time I was there was in my early twenties! It's so nice to see warm weather, beach scenes and beautiful cliffs! Thanks for the tour and enjoy your trip up the coast!!
Perfect timing! I'm heading to San Diego for the first time in 3 weeks. Thanks for the tips in the video and guide. I've added the coffee shop and burger place to my list. Yummy!
Outstanding video! I already love your videos, and I spent some time out there in the 1990s. I wanted to go back watching this. And I want to try Hodad's next time!!!
San Diego is probably my favorite US city. Been there numerous times for business and pleasure, but have never been to Torrey Pines. Thank you for taking us along on your hike.
We understand!!! We had five hours in San Diego last time. Still squeezed in so much. Could explore Balboa Park for days. We are now buying a “You are the Yee to my Haw” sign. Thank you, coffee shop! Imagine playing hide & seek in the Midway. You outbended the statue! Hodad’s…yes. Yes. That burger is the size of your head. Will never forget how hard it was to find ice cream in LA on the Pacific Coast Highway. Not one place was open. But about 20 donut shops! So we got ice cream in San Diego. But that gelato!!! Dogs not allowed? 😢 Miss those oceans!
Thanks for the beautiful video. I haven't been to San Diego in years. On my bucket list. You must have been there on a Monday. I didn't see any people and businesses looked closed. I see you were able to take your dog, good to know dogs are ok to walk in the park. I love seeing your hikes, I am unable to do long hikes anymore due to health reasons. Thank you
Absolutely wonderful journey! Those treats especially that burger look delicious.😋The sea lions lounging on the reef were just soooo cute. Can't wait to plan my next trip to San Diego! Also looking forward to more shots of Kona
So fun to see SD through your lens! I lived there for 12 years and travel back monthly for work but it’s rare that I get to explore. Thanks for the fun day trip. Can’t wait for the taco tour!! Ole!
Just finished a hike in Bells Canyon to see a frozen waterfall. I love having the Wasatch so close. Keeps me busy every weekend. San Diego looks amazing, and I've heard lots of good things about it. This vlog is a great way to relax and contemplate all the places I hope to see in this great American West. Also looking forward to the upcoming food tour. I've got tacos on the menu this week.
12/19/22 I live right by Coffee and Flowers aka Communal Coffee in North Park. My takeaway from this light, fun video is that I do something I thought I would never do in many years of living here--take San Diego for granted. Thank you for prodding me to get out of my recliner and hit Balboa Park next Sunday, Christmas day.
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, I see that y'all are eating really good in San Diego🍔🍔🍔! Those HUGE burgers looked sooooo gooood! 20 years my brother, my so Alex and I flew into Albuquerque and drove to Williams, AZ and took the Grand Canyon Railway to the South Rim, and then drove to San Diego which was the 1st time we had ever been to Cali. Such a beautiful city and the food was awesome. That ice cream looked really good too! Great video👍👍👍👍👍.
Fun watch - Lived in OB ‘99 to 2012 about a 5 minute walk from Hodad’s which used to have great shakes as well as great hamburgers. Brought back some great memories!! Thanks.
@@AdventuresofAplusK For the future: Mahi Tacos at South Beach (closest restaurant to the pier on n Newport Ave. -great views from the second floor) and Olives Tree Market located at Sunset Cliffs And Narragansett. Try the Manhattan!!

Okay, so NOT the point of this video at all, but at 1:36, those dungarees in the coffee shop, come flower shop, come gift shop were SO cute ❤ I really liked how colourful Balboa Park was - very quirky and totally looks like a unicorn threw up all over it - winning! That beach that you guys had lunch on is all kinds of beautiful. I don't blame you for getting take-out despite their cool interior. It's SO miserable here in the UK. We've just come out of a really bad storm (I appreciate in comparison to the tornadoes, earthquakes and hurricanes you guys get over there, this is probably nothing) but for us, it was pretty major, and watching you guys sat on that beach, and sat outside eating gelato outside is making me beyond jealous!!! Loved the wildlife later in the video. Usually only expect to see it from you guys at the start of videos and when hiking, so a nice surprise. The Cormorants were amazing - I've only ever seen the yellow ones, never blue!! The shot you got with the eggs in the nest too was amazing! 😍 The Torrey Pines area and hike looked so nice, but costly if you had to pay to park, so good job on scoring the on street parking!! Whilst I did notice the lack of tacos, I did pick up on the Taco Birthday card right at the start in the shop 🌮
They had SO many CUTE things in that coffee shop! All high quality gifts! Adam was just telling me about the storm and how he heard people were watching livestreams planes try to land at Heathrow. Sounds wild! We were very thankful to have a beautiful winter day in San Diego, although it did rain the next day, so it's not all perfect haha We were stoked to get free parking...more money for tacos in the next video! 😜

we just finished a very similar trip from PA to OR (the very southern route to avoid any snow) it’s been so fun watching your videos in almost real time with our trip! we loved all the NP we hit in NM and AZ!
I only have one problem with your videos. I gain weight every time. I feel like a seal laying on my side in pain. Seriously, totally enjoying your videos. Kona was getting her exercise in also.👍👍💖🙋♂️
One of the prettiest large cities in America. It gets overlooked a bit because of LA and San Francisco, but San Diego is great. Agreed, those sea lions at La Jolla stink.
So crazy! One second you are in the Superstition Mtns getting ready to see some golf and now you are in SD. I love SD by the way! I see you guys took Interstate 8, that is a much more enjoyable drive then the 10. Have fun on your trip north bound. Our family will be on our way to California in 2 weeks. Going to go see Channel Islands NP, Big Sur, Monterrey Bay Aquarium and Pinnacles NP. I am curious to see if you hit any of those spots. 🙂
I do wonder the next videos should be a rail journey from San Ysidro, CA at the Mexican Boarder to Vancouver, Canada; Vancouver to Halifax, the Alaska Railroad, and Amtrak from Maine to California and to Texas.
We were married in La Jolla at La Valencia next to the Bobbio (btw, it's the best gelato I've ever had)! San Diego is honestly so gorgeous! I wish we could live there. We have wedding pictures from the seal area and from the Scripps Pier. It's unforgettable!
We unfortunately have much less time for fun than you may think. Filming, editing, writing, etc takes us 80+ hours a week. And we have deadlines to get to specific places for commitments we have. Doing our best!
Love all your videos, I did a day hike on the PCT last year near Warner Springs called Eagle Rock that you might enjoy. Make sure to eat healthy sometimes 😉

Going to go see Channel Islands NP, Big Sur, Monterrey Bay Aquarium and Pinnacles NP. I am curious to see if you hit any of those spots. 🙂
Hahaha in vlog world we move fast! Stay tuned for more CA fun!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I only recently found your channel. I will have to check out some of your older trips. I love the National Park ones. Have fun!
I do wonder the next videos should be a rail journey from San Ysidro, CA at the Mexican Boarder to Vancouver, Canada; Vancouver to Halifax, the Alaska Railroad, and Amtrak from Maine to California and to Texas.
That would be a lot of fun, but tough to take our dog with us on that type of experience. Plus it sounds expensive. Thanks for watching!
We called wedged potatoes “joe joes” when I was growing up. Soo yummy!! 😍
Haha that’s a cute name!!
Loved the video as usual. How many coffee houses and restaurants have you been to around the country...
We have lost count!
We were married in La Jolla at La Valencia next to the Bobbio (btw, it's the best gelato I've ever had)! San Diego is honestly so gorgeous! I wish we could live there. We have wedding pictures from the seal area and from the Scripps Pier. It's unforgettable!
What an epic spot to get married!!! And that gelato so incredible!
What a great city. Enjoyed it every time we’re there. Housing price has gone up a lot though like every other desirable place
Unfortunately that seems to be the trend these days. Thankful for our van where we can live wherever for cheap!
omgoodness, never say you don't have time.....you have all the time in the world.
We unfortunately have much less time for fun than you may think. Filming, editing, writing, etc takes us 80+ hours a week. And we have deadlines to get to specific places for commitments we have. Doing our best!
@@AdventuresofAplusK You're doing a great job.....just take time to enjoy life...okies
work 4 days, play 3 days
We wish we could do that! But being self employed doesn't really create that type of lifestyle 😉
Love all your videos, I did a day hike on the PCT last year near Warner Springs called Eagle Rock that you might enjoy. Make sure to eat healthy sometimes 😉
We eat extremely healthy off camera and are very active. Y’all only see a tiny sliver of our life and meals 😉
I live in El Paso as of 6 months but I wanted to ask if you guys have ever visited my hometown Santa Cruz, Ca ???
We have! When we road tripped down the California coast a few years back we stopped there 😃
Come to Ashland, OR!
We will be making some stops in Oregon!
Try swagyu chop shop next time your in SD super delicious japanese waygu burgers!
That sounds good!
Thanks for visiting my home! Very San Diego of you to wear a Patagonia pullover
