Just programmed two additional remotes using your video for my 2016 Suburban LTZ. I remember paying a locksmith $300 a few months after I purchased the vehicle back in 2017 when I lost one of the fobs. Today I was able to program two additional key fobs purchased on eBay for under $40! Thanks for the clear, correct, and concise video!
Great vid. I do not have push start. I have a key. Also my drivers side door lock button doesn't work. Is there another alternative way to program a fob if those 2 options are not available?
I bought a used 2016 Suburban. The car dealership gave me a GMC Yukon key as a second key. It looks identical to my working key. Followed steps to a T. Got the programming lights on in the truck, but no luck. Also took it to one of those battery retail stores that programs keys/FOBs. They replaced the battery in the second key but they couldn't program it either.
I've never programmed a GMC smart key to a Chevy but the first thing I would check is that the two remotes have the same FCC ID. You can find the FCC ID's on the inside of the remotes. Open them as you would if you were changing the batteries - if you are unsure of how to do that you can find a video on it here ruclips.net/video/sF-zYy3zP5g/видео.html
You show lock & unlock buttons work, but will the program also open the tailgate buttons on the fob? Like your directions and that you went at a good pace to follow each step. Thank you.
Thank you! Worked on my '16 Chevy Suburban LTZ. Question, how do you de-program the old remote? Haven't looked/searched for a video, just thot I'd ask.
Just purchased 2016 LTZ (Texas) and want to copy remote. This is not a push button start but has a laser cut key in the column. How do I copy that remote? It looks similar to the one in your video??
Probably a stupid question 😅, but by any chance… would this work without the original? We’ve been looking for my moms keys forever and still can’t find them and the replacement keys cost a fortune.
A bro would it also work if my original key fob locking button wont work.Does the key fob you want to program have to be a chevy one or can it be a different brand from like ebay?
unfortunately there Is no manual way to program a remote for a 2015 Suburban. You can program the ignition key though - you can find those instructions here www.programautokeys.com/classified/2015-chevrolet-suburban-ignition-transponder-chip-key-programming-instructions-listing-9423.aspx#.YXLqJS-caw4
You'll need to use a longer produce that erases all the fobs and then the order in which your program them back in will determine the driver #. You can find a video on that procedure below. You will need to start the procedure will all the working keys far enough away from the vehicle so they cannot be detected - ruclips.net/video/jBOvQExhh0A/видео.html
The fobs are not manually programmable on the non push-button start vehicles, you will need a dealer or automotive locksmith. The ignition keys are programmable in most cases though, you can find those instructions here www.programautokeys.com/classified/2015-chevrolet-suburban-ignition-transponder-chip-key-programming-instructions-listing-9423.aspx#.Y9AKLC-B2w4
Say I have two working fobs but only have one in my posession (because my brother-in-law is an a-hole). I take it that if I program a replacement without the missing fob, then the missing fob will no longer work?
This procedure does not erase previous fobs. There is a longer procedure that does - you can find the video for that here ruclips.net/video/jBOvQExhh0A/видео.html

Followed the procedure and remote works fine; locks/ unlocks, remote starts, etc. But when I get into the vehicle it says "No Remote Detected". Did I do something wrong? How do I fix this issue?
Put a brand new battery in the fob. Also, put the fob in the slot (same slot he shows in the video) under the console where it can detect the key, press the auto start button to start the vehicle
I got as far as when the inside panel says “ready for remote 2.” Unfortunately, I was not fast enough, and instead of programming an extra remote, I erased the original. As we speak, I’m waiting for the locksmith to arrive so I can pay him $150 to program them both.
There really isn't a time restriction once you get to "ready for remote 2" so there may be an issue with the second remote. Even if your original was erased you can still program it back in .
This is a little misleading, because apparently this does not work on keys with proximity sensors. I have tried this procedure with (4) four different new key fobs, and this will not work at all.
@@PYR-Auto well, I tried this four times with four different remotes. The DIC displays the messages as shown in the video, but the remotes do not work at the final step. I have a 2016 Chevy suburban.
Are you using virgin or unlocked remotes? These remotes lock to a vehicle once programmed and need to be unlocked by someone with the correct equipment before they can be used again

There is a 30 minute procedure that will erase all previous remotes - you can find that video here ruclips.net/video/iMglvkUlHI0/видео.html
I'm glad you asked this question and so lucky we got a response from the creator!! Thank you buddy! Wish you good health

Will this work with 2016 Chevy Silverado adding new smart fobs?
No, this will not work on a 2016 Silverado
Does the remote start feature on the new key work after completing this programming?
Yes - as long as your vehicle has the factory remote start option. The new key will function just as the original did.

@@PYR-Auto Then why do you need all the fobs in the car when you program a new one?

I'm not sure - I have not experienced that with a remote that has successfully programed.
Put a brand new battery in the fob. Also, put the fob in the slot (same slot he shows in the video) under the console where it can detect the key, press the auto start button to start the vehicle
I tried this process on my 2015 suburban, but the new key did not learn.
