I was a vinyl floor installer for 37 years. We used a leather tool to put a groove on the back of rubber base so it would bend easily around corners. Might be able to use it for tires too.
@@prof2bobajob.klonded5 Yes re cutting has been around for some time BUT only for tires that were made from the factory to be recut such as tractor tires or off road tires etc. You cant just go and do this to any tire you want.

If this is for artistic purposes then I'm very impressed. The detail is outstanding. If this is for profitable purposes then I am disgusted. The tyre hadn't worn evenly and will never sit flat on the road again. Very dangerous in wet conditions.
@@chickenpopper its most likely for profit. Safety isn't a thing for a lot of parts of the world. Reusing, fixing, and modifying stuff even at the cost of safety is the norm. Most of the time they're just making the ends meet and both parties are well aware of it

So there is a special kind of tires that are manufactured to be regroowed after some time (for example cargo truck tires), and with theese its ok to do it. But the tire from the video looks like just regular non-regroowable tire. And it is unsymetricaly worn down. Therefore you should not perform regrowing on this tire if you are ever goin to put it back on a car
As someone in this trade I can say great job especially for not using an electric groover , manually that's a lot of work! And for anyone wondering if it's safe the manufacturer will tell you on the tyres if it's recommended or not !
Taking banana peel tires to a whole new level. Just not enough rubber to be safe. It definitely does make the tire better to be able to thread water, snow providing better traction but at the end of the day i would not want my family driving with tires like that.
A green tire before cooked is almost 1 inch thick ...after it's cooked around 3/4 or .750 the ome grooves are only .300 less than 3/8 which is a 1/3 low speed would be ok but high speed would scare me

I would rather see these used tire casings be rethreaded at a tire manufacturing plant, with a vulcanisation process bead replacement than using these thinned out grooves at high speeds. That's why I'm insisting that tire manufacturers get ahold of these old tires, inspect them, and rethread them the conventional way, just like truck tires. Techno -pneus in Rimouski QC. does this process, and Bridgestone in Joliette QC. could do it too, given that they build an extension on the existant plant. They already have the trackage that leads to the plant, so old tires could be sent by train gondola wagons to the plant to be rethreaded. It would save millions on the basic materials, and give stakeholders and shareholders higher R.O.I.s.

Все эти домыслы, что восстановление несет угрозу, не подкреплены ничем. Просто домыслы и страхи. Ничего не случится, если не резать протектор глубоко и без фанатизма, всего на 1-3мм. Люди ездят на куда более ужасной резине и все норм. Ну запихай в эту шину камеру, если уж ты боишься. С ней уж точно ничего не приключится.

Just fine for around the city... People are worried about balancing and all of that, in the city it is fine, probably even up to 60-80km and hour. It's high speeds on the highway that would matter, if at all. And you dont want to speed regardless. Realistically it should be just fine with some experience and being safety conscious. You can use a dremel tool and get more life out of a dirtbike tire this way too.

This tyre is not meant to be rethreable, it has the markers where the rethreading tool stucks/stops to show its level with the min tire thread of 1.6mm, means end of life for this tyre, put it on a vehilce will endanger lives....
