I like coming back and rewatching a lot of videos from my favorite tree channels, August Hunicke, Guilty of Treeson and Westcoast Saw. The main thing I take away from all 3 is, the comradery. Ole Dan just gets in there and bangs wedges and at least on video, doesn't complain and just keeps going. Gaining all sorts of knowledge and doing what it takes. I dig it.
What Mike said about crossing the trees to keep in lay with the bend in your strip was a good little touch in there… not many people will comprehend that but I get what your doing. Good work Gordy.
I still have a sachs dolmar 112 my dad bought in the 80's. Use it weekly on the sawmill to trim up logs. It screams. Not a light saw but a good saw for what it is.
Great video, perfect for a Friday night watch. Also really liked the 661 tune up you did with Jacob, you guys work well together, hope to see more like that, thanks! 🙂
My Pops used to have an old bleach bottle and Prestone jug for gas and bar oil 👌👌 Only thing was it wasn't bar oil he used, it was used motor oil in his Ol' O38. miss that guy every damn day no regrets
You are the man, , watching you fall trees, and your little buddy Jake climb trees have inspired me to quit my job and get into the tree cutting industry, keep making the videos boss
Wow that’s Awsome to hear There is nothing better than driving home after a good day of tree work and you feel beat and you can’t wait to get back the next day it’s great 😆 Good luck with your new Adventure 👍👍
Another great video. I love watching you guys getting out there and cut. I’ve been operating heavy equipment doing site development and underground utilities for just shy of 20 years. I’m just to damn old and broken at this point to take on a new trade but I sure like going out out on a weekend and helping some buddies do tree work. I’m down here in the graham area. Anyways, Mr west coast, I can’t be the only one that would love to see a video doing a walk around of all your beautiful trucks. You’re teasing us gear heads every time you pan right on past one of those bad boys like it’s not even there. There definitely something to proud of, give us a little closer look… build specs, engines, axles… I’ll talk all you give me. Thanks Gordy. Here’s to you and your continued success. -Ryan in Graham WA.
Makes me want to go tip over trees with my 7900. I have the older pre-cat era, was a decent saw stock but really came awake when I ported it. Added a port to the muffler before I even ran it, so I guess I don't know how it ran bone stock.
I always appreciate your videos and look forward to them very much! I really like the technique demonstrated for top compression! I know there is regional jargon. I thought that on the West Coast they refer to that as "reaming the cut". Here on the East Coast we call it the "see saw".👍
I enjoy your videos. Thank you for putting them out. We don't get to see much big wood here in Maine anymore. Just want to say I'm running your bark box on a stihl 400. Absolutely love it. Dogs and air filter are great also. Keep up the good work.
I like the new intro! Looked like a fun day of cutting with a great group of guys. The Makita is running great. That filter took a beating. Nice thing about foam filters, rinse lather repeat.
Awesome video. Real men doing real work. Got your clutch cover, bark box and 3pt dogs for my 462cm. Love everything. 3pt dogs are a game changer. Great products. Glad to see they are made in the USA.
I live on the east coast and have a full wrap bar on it with Gordy's clutch cover, bark box and 3pt dogs. I might get the WCS air filter but hardwood we get a lot more fine dust. I will definitely order a couple of his chain pouches. Really like all the products on the website and can't wait for the axe handles to become available. The bark box Really helped my saw.
@mikebeaver2998 I'm on the eastcoast to with a full wrap & I did the wcs filter it catches fine dust better than the oem, I would go for it. Oh & I'm waiting for the axe handle to. We must be related lol
Funny thing is I did the same bucking on a fire clean up job and my employer said it was unsafe to widen the kerf bucking,he was always hung ulnd wedgin himself free. I sure do miss falling valley fir so much easier then pondos in eastern oregon. I am pretty much outta the game but still ove to knock down timber when I can.
Really love that saw! I had a 7310 that I loved but it got stolen out the back of my truck. Can't find anything new that I like half as much as that Dolmar.
Hell ya this is what I am talking about didn’t know if I was going to be able to go much longer with out a Gordy video!!!! Keep them coming Gordy!!!!!!
Nice video Gordy! I had to laugh when you were cutting the uprooted blow downs; the other day I had an uprooted black cherry that I thought would be neat to get a video of flopping back down when I cut the tree off. I set the camera up made the cut and there it set! I could probably cut 20 without a camera on them and they would flop one way or the other but not the one I wanted footage of:) I am glad you are sharing your time in the woods.
Cool. The best part of this saw video is little talking. Woo. Some of those other saw videos, they just don't stop talking about themselves. Good video. Keep up the good work. Thanks

Would love to see a vid about your different square grinders and the pros and cons of each.
Man, that saw screams. This makes my stock 390xp look like a poulan pro from Fleet Farm.
Side note: I wish we had a US chainsaw manufacturer.
Can’t wait to see parts for the Dolmar’s!! Would love to have some dawgs

Dang, wish my 7900 ran like that! 👍🏼
Another absolutely outstanding video you have made / produced!!
I’m jealous of you guys out there. You get to fall those big tall firs.
nice to see something other than stihl and husky
That dolmar is a nice machine
no wedge required 1:08 just pushes them over.root balls are no joke never know for sure if they are going to sit stand up or roll over.
