- Phil X & The Drills have been playing this version of FIRE as our show finale since I can remember. Here, Dan and I are joined by fellow Canadian, Randy Cooke, on drums. We tried to capture the LIVE electricity which A is hard without an audience and B even harder not being in the same room. Hence the part at 4:56 when I find my high E string has jumped out of the saddle and I put it back in and try to recover. You get don't get to redo or punch that shit in live so I kept it in there. ...and now it's there forever. Hahaha.

Luke let’s be real for a moment. Yes, he’s a talented parrot, only plays covers, living dangerously on a green card, the drills are not popular and he’s currently unemployed. There is nothing here we haven’t already heard on Fretted. It’s great he can be a teenager at his age and bring joy to some. He was a better person and player when he was with Aldo.

I loved that Phil and the bassist recorded the vocals while playing their instruments to make the experience as live as humanly possible considering the circumstances of these times. Caged beasts needing to be set free!!
