I've always wanted to cover this. Based on the debut album version (purchased the album in 1980 at age 15...that studio version was the only version I knew until around 6 years ago).
Seeing THIS absolutely OUTSTANDING live/extended version and, the craftmanship of the then 3-piece (I figure JUST prior to Andy Summers joining?) band (Such a fan of Wyatt's drumming! He's so multitalented at this point in time) and, the reaction of the audience (especially the young ladies who are REALLLLLY into it and begin dancing) as the electricity builds and builds and builds...they seem to be completely immersed in the performance if you watch their body language as the performance plays through...
NOW I REALLLLLLLY want to cover this. Such a great and talented band. No wonder such a vast array of musical heavyweights (of their respective times) as Jimi Hendrix and, say Captain Sensible are/were such huge fans!!

He was forced to leave the band in 1967 when he was refused entry to the UK. By the time this was recorded he'd already helped found Gong.

He was booted out of the band just a month before this was filmed, in September 1967, when he wasn't let back into Britain (he was Australian and I believe his work visa had expired) after the band had gone overseas for a little while.
