As a Norwegian, living in America, I have to say every time I hear “Take on Me” on the radio (it’s at least once a day on certain radio stations), I am surprised that this was the one that became a hit here. Not a bad song at all, awesome video that didn’t hurt them. I dare say that there are 4-5 other tracks on “Hunting High and Low” that are far better than “Take on Me”.. They are such an underrated band here in the US, and offer so much more than “Take on Me”. I’ve been a moderate A-ha fan since the mid 80’s, however their music has grown so much on me over the past 20 years, and the Summer Solstice album shows how talented they really are.
John Vadseth when I first heard the soundtrack to the Bond film Living Daylights, I didn’t even realize this was A ha, but the song has grown on me over the years. It’s amazing that they didn’t even know the plot of the film when they recorded the song
@@ObamaFromKenya That's an interesting fact there - I had no idea that they didn't know the plot. As I said before, their music has grown immensely on me since their early days.
Agreed. I've been a fan since Hunting High and Low came out and a-ha couldn't breakthrough with anything from their follow-up albums, which is a shame. Corporate radio owned stations were not good for a-ha. Morton's voice is amazing and the band sounds amazing as well.
Their other records was also big back in the 80’s and 90’s. But now, we remember Take on me, and James Bond fans remember this too

This version sounds like if Radiohead did it (interestingly, Radiohead themselves did a James Bond theme tune, originally for Spectre, which was rejected). Is it odd that I now want to see this being used in the last Daniel Craig bond movie? It has that feel to it.
This also for some weird reason reminds me of that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang lullaby song “Hushabye Mountain”.
