Hello! Great videos! Just subscribed to your channel! I’m on the merge of building my first home. I really can’t wait. Just out of curiosity though. Do you think a general contractor is needed through out this type of projects? Or do you believe it’s possible without one?
Thanks for watching my videos & for subscribing to my channel. I appreciate your compliment as well. It's exciting to build a home, but it can be pretty crazy. Most of my experience is working directly with homebuilders who have their own general contractors to oversee their entire community. Doing it on your own can be very over-whelming. but if you know what you're doing, you should be fine. If you've never done anything like this, I would probably hire a superintendent to oversee the project & make sure the different trades are staying on schedule & that mistakes aren't being made. Best of luck to you!
Hey ty: how are you it’s Reinaldo again I just saw your video on how long it takes to build a new construction home, very good video by the way but like you said that’s the way they build in Utah. I’ve spoken to you before about me moving to Tampa Fl when I retire God willing. In about two to three years I wish you were in Florida I would ask you to build a new construction home for me. In Florida the time they give you to build a new construction home is about 7 to 8 months but the way they build a new construction home is not the way they build in Utah. In some of your video you speak about plastic to keep the insulation in place they don’t do that in Florida, the air conditioner leaks, there’s a lot off dry walls, lots of mold, the builders in Fl are Taylor Morrison, homes by west bay, MI homes, but I don’t who are good builders. Homes by westbay are a Semi custom builders which I think I’m going to go with. They have lots of model homes that I like but the up grades are very expensive. I was looking at bay shore 2 model 31 hundred square feet 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, three car garage. The community is the problem because each community is a different price. I’m looking in riverview. What advice can you give me or what should I do when I’m ready. I thank you very much for your honesty and your professionalism in this matter. May GOD bless you and your family and please continue to do Gods work for the people. Blessings
reinaldo rios Hey, it’s great to hear from you again my friend. I appreciate you watching my videos and your questions. I think the best thing you can do is go online and look at the reviews of each homebuilder. In most situations, I would not build with a homebuilder that has 3.5 star rating or lower. Also, in your situation because you’re moving from out of state, I’d contact multiple real estate agents until you find one that has a lot of experience working with homebuilders. If you do those two things, you should be OK. Again, thanks for watching and best of luck to you.

Realtors should be well versed and taught to tell buyers that it may take longer than anticipated and give a realistic timeline. Do you have any videos that explain the different professionals involved in planning and building a home, especially a custom home? Thanks!
MiyakoBJ Thanks for watching my videos and especially for your questions. I appreciate that more than you know. The timeline generally is longer on custom homes and pricing often higher.
