Tbh, the death in JJk feels really underwhelming: for being apart of the “dark trio” it has some of the worst deaths and overall portrayals for death out of the other 2 mangas: yuki’s death is one of the 1st examples that come to mind, and personally, nobara’s “death” also feels rushed, being the flash back happens AFTER Mahito touches her, and while it might be gruesome, as a 3rd party, it has almost no significant weight on the reader, with the most being yuji, which imma be honest: idk how it would work otherwise if yuji didn’t care deeply for people he barely knows, since he knew nobara for like, 1-2 weeks of time? (Now that I’m starting to forget parts of the shibuya arc, it makes a little more sense now how yuji reacted, but still feels weird.) also don’t get me started on Gojo’s death. But really, it goes to show how death portrayed in JJK just doesn’t do justice to it’s characters, compared to HP being gruesome, detailed and vivid, filling in the lack of sympathy of the viewer with aghast horror, with main characters also not being spared, and compared to Chainsaw man, with a mix of mental horror, and gruesome horror. (Ex: Aki, Himeko, and Power’s deaths: Himeko being a blow to Aki, and power and aki being a low to denji, and the audience, not to mention all the other characters who died that people care for.) which outshadows the other 2 by a long shot.

Tbh, the death in JJk feels really underwhelming: for being apart of the “dark trio” it has some of the worst deaths and overall portrayals for death out of the other 2 mangas: yuki’s death is one of the 1st examples that come to mind, and personally, nobara’s “death” also feels rushed, being the flash back happens AFTER Mahito touches her, and while it might be gruesome, as a 3rd party, it has almost no significant weight on the reader, with the most being yuji, which imma be honest: idk how it would work otherwise if yuji didn’t care deeply for people he barely knows, since he knew nobara for like, 1-2 weeks of time? (Now that I’m starting to forget parts of the shibuya arc, it makes a little more sense now how yuji reacted, but still feels weird.) also don’t get me started on Gojo’s death. But really, it goes to show how death portrayed in JJK just doesn’t do justice to it’s characters, compared to HP being gruesome, detailed and vivid, filling in the lack of sympathy of the viewer with aghast horror, with main characters also not being spared, and compared to Chainsaw man, with a mix of mental horror, and gruesome horror. (Ex: Aki, Himeko, and Power’s deaths: Himeko being a blow to Aki, and power and aki being a low to denji, and the audience, not to mention all the other characters who died that people care for.) which outshadows the other 2 by a long shot.
