The man knows his way around the neck of a guitar!! Don’t judge a book by its cover. He may not be “young” but he can make some young top notch pros look like beginners!! Great job. God given talent.
Thanks very much David for watching our humble video, unfortunately RUclips hasn't associated your comment with the video in question. Would you please tell me what guitar it is, I'm certain Dan would enjoy your comment. Thanks once again 😎👍!
Great review!! I just purchased on Amazon for $209. Liked your song too, sounds like a band I was turned on to from a friend in Norway!! The band is called "Spooky Daly Pride." Keep up the good work!
Your guitar playing is great! I bought that guitar and I own a few expensive guitars. I was blown away by my version's quality for 200 dollars. Not as good as some of my pricy guitars but a damn good bargain in my humble opinion! I was very happy with this guitar but it could have been lighter for me. That guitar piece gave me goose bumps, damn inspiring brother!
Love your videos, awesome playing! I just picked up one of these beasties and have to say that it had a few more finishing blemishes on mine. Once again, this model had Marvel L3 tuning machines that are higher quality than what comes with Squier, Epiphone, and lower end Ibanez guitars. This said, I still replaced them with Gotoh locking tuning machines. Like my IJZ-500 (again, Use an Epiphone Jumbo Broadway hard shell case), the fingerboard and strings had a metal dust and a very dry fingerboard. Looks like they were both strung with no-name 0.010s. Heavier half round, coated or round wound strings are my (0.012s) recommendation, besides the strap buttons, and overall clean-up for the guitar. Case wise an ES-335 hard shell case that has not been internally form fit will work, but you’ll need to add a bit of padding to the back and sides internally to the case. This is only a partial block (very unfinished) under the bridge area. There is binding on the f-holes, but it is not the same as the external binding on the edge of the headstock, neck and body. There was a bit more wood splintering in this $178.00 (from Amazon) semi hollow guitar verses the IJZ-500. Sustain is not quite as lengthy as the IJZ-500, and funny enough, my IJZ-500 is also a bit more resistant to feedback, too. I also noticed a bit more bass and upper mid range from the neck pickup relative to the IJZ-500., but the bridge pickup is very similiar between the two on the amp settings I like to use. The IJZ-500 has a very chunky/beafy ‘C’ neck and the IJZ-300 is a slightly chunky ‘D’ neck, it reminds me more of an Epiphone than an Ibanez in profile, but having a volute tends to be more often with other manufacturers. Both of these with the obligatory cleanup and setup are gig worthy guitars out of the box in my opinion and don’t tend to suffer from the same lesser electronics and pickups that come from cheaper instruments.
Upon deeper inspection of this guitar I have a concern. This is the first set neck electric guitar I have played/ owned so I’m not sure if it is normal to feel and see a line at the joint where the cutaway is, directly in line with the 16th fret. It goes into the binding as well. Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated
Another Fantastic video, Guys! Leo - glad to see you back in action today! Where to start.... well, that thing was treated like a step-child, and beat all up to pieces in shipping. And it arrives with no damage to speak of. Crazy! Unbelievable, really. Maybe the driver(s) were really careful with it. Anyway - gotta give em' some credit here. And the guitar - awesome. I have this same guitar. Got it several months ago, and I absolutely LOVE it. The one I got is a Killer! The Destiny Wound pickups are smokin' on the one I got. Right slam out of the box. And it's marketed as a Jazz Box... and it can do smooth and warm Jazz tones. But it's a rock and roll machine! Love this axe. Crazy that you can get this for $200. I think I paid $189. Last comment - Dan - great playing, as always. I swear.... when you cranker her up.... for a sec I thought I was on the Lido Deck of the Love Boat. With Captain Merrill Stubing and Gopher. And the lovely Cruise Director, Julie.

You guys are the best - really. How do you think it compares to an Ibanez AS-53 or AS-73 - that would be a fair comparison(?). Thank you for what you do
Thanks very much, Michael, once again for watching our humble videos and for your kind question. Unfortunately, we have never reviewed either of those Ibanez guitars. Maybe Dan has played one on his own, or at least at Guitar Center and will chime in 😉👍!
20:46 Dan always love your playing!! I thought I noticed that you were calling the bridge position the neck position? Toggle switch down is usually bridge and up is usually neck.
I believe they use binding. I read a post where the IYV Les Paul had a busted neck. Anyway he looked more into it since the neck was broken and it was binding. Not paint.
I have one of these arriving tomorrow. Yours certainly is beautiful and sounds very nice. Now if I could only play a fraction as well as you I would be set!
Such a beautiful guitar for the money. I was just looking at hollow body kits that cost almost $100 more! Thanks for the review and the awesome playing!👍😎🎸🎶
Might I add very nice playing. I mean really great playing. I now own two IYV’s. The green Les Paul and the Hybrid Fender mustang/jaguar. That in itself is an original. I also own a 32 year old Martin D28. A Taylor, 2 Gibsons but I still can’t believe the sound and look of this Korean owned company’s guitars. And like you both necks on my IYV guitars are chunky as well. More than I like but I’ll get used to them. I know you can take what you read online with a grain of salt sometimes but I hear I YV is selling their guitars through Amazon at almost cost trying to introduce their guitars to America and their goal is to compete with Eppiphone. Maybe that’s true or maybe it’s not I don’t really know but I do have to say I think these guitars look, play and sound as good as any $500 to $700 guitar.Thank you again for your nice video.
Outstanding single note soloing. This is the first review that has mentioned the neck being "chunky". I just ordered one, and I hope the neck is more of a modern C shape. Great review.
Wow. You make that guitar sing. It’s pretty obvious your not a big fan of this particular model but you definitely did it justice in the review. Unbelievable playing. I recently bought this same guitar and love it. I dont have it dialed in just yet but still enjoy picking it up. Ordered new tuner heads and a roller bridge for it so will be playing it more soon. In the meantime it’s one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve seen and am enjoying just looking at it on the wall for now.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments, I wasn't notified of this comment until now. I apologize for taking so long to respond. We're glad you enjoyed our humble video 😉👍!
Well Fellas I got mine yesterday! WOW! The back is a solid color which I love. Question: I paid $181+tax. I think it’s worth more. What would you say this guitar is really worth? Thanks, Fellas!
I know I'm late to the party but I'm trying to settle a debate, not having one in hand: does it have a full length center block or just a tone block under the bridge? You guys might not have it anymore...
Wow, beginner player from Canada here. I bought the itf 300 from that brand last week. It's a bit more raw of a sound but not that far from yours. The way you make that guitar sing is simply AMAZING. I wish I could play like that one day. (and btw, I've seen much younger guys with YT mega channels have much less dexterity in their hands). Again, amazing.
Thanks very much Fred for watching and for your kind comments. I'm certain Dan will appreciate them so I'll be certain to pass them along. Good luck with your new guitar 🎸 😉👍!
Thanks very much, Bob, for watching and for your kind questions, and it's been awhile since we reviewed this guitar, but as I recall, it was a pretty good player, and yes it was made for Jazz 😉👍!
Most "jazz" players rely almost exclusively on the neck pickup, so much so that lots of jazz boxes only have one pickup. The rest is the amp setting and the tone control on the guitar. Lots of experienced players use pretty simple amps, and a minimum of pedals. Older Fenders seem to be popular, as well as the Roland Jazz Chorus line. Hendrickson, a line of tiny amps from Colorado, has become popular with some heavyweights. Thanks for listening. 😊
I play Revelation all the time too, one of my favorite electric guitar recordings of all time along with Michael Bloomfield's Maryann and Albert's Shuffle! Great guitar for the money!
Thanks very much Rick for taking the time to watch and comment on our humble video, I'll pass your kind words along to Dan 😉 👍! BTW, So are you (a monster player).
Very nice review, I'm a big fan of the fretboard inlays. That really dresses up a guitar nice. The sound is really good on this guitar. Another great video guys! 🙂👍👍💕
Nice playing sir. People in Asia have been woodworking for 5000 years the fact that these guitars can be built and sold for what is asked is a tribute to their skills. Would have paid more.
Nice video, nice review and of course a lovely played track in the end. Shame this guitar's not available in the UK. Thanks for the great video, though.
Thanks very much my friend for watching and for your kind comments. I'm sorry I missed a couple of your videos. I haven't been well. I'll be around soon!😉👍!
IYV (Inyen Vena) make some pretty nice guitars. I have several and for the money i think they are a good brand. I sold my IJZ 300 TSB and i don't know why really. They make a much larger Jazzbox which is beautiful but very heavy. I never pick mine up . Great review as usual. Thanks!
Dan your guitar playing is just phenomenal! The fact that you had not heard that track before just shows how great your feel is for the tempo of the piece. In addition the strings are pretty bad I’m sure so you still managed to make it really sing. Amazing. Thank you both for these reviews. Happy Holidays from Phoenix. ( was that the jazz setting on the LT 25 ? .
I only really use two patches on the Fender Mustang amp. One is just called "Basic Clean, " which is pretty much exactly what the name implies, with just a touch of reverb. The lead patch is called "Boosted Brit," which has a very good blend of sustain, distortion, and echo. I figure it's fairer to the guitars if they all get treated equally. Thanks for listening!
Amazon gets these IYV guitars in batches that sell out really quick because they are amazingly good instruments for such a low price. I saw this IJZ 300 listed for $220 and when I went back a couple days later to buy it the price had dropped down to $149! And two days later when I went back to Amazon to send the link to a friend it had already been sold out. I also got the IYV Les Paul model for $170 and it sold out a few days later too. Check out all the reviews at Amazon and here at RUclips. The only negative ones I've seen are due to shipping damage issues due to the cheap / unsafe packaging they come in, and from nitpicking connoisseurs who are unhappy that a $200 guitar doesn't rival a big name brand model that costs thousands of dollars. Perfectionists are going to tweak these guitars out with their preferred pricey pickups, tuners, micropolishing the frets and so forth, but really, both of my IYVs came nicely playable right out of the box with no setup required except for changing the cheap strings they come with. This IJZ 300 reviewed by Leo & Dan Ryan has a tremendous range of tone, from the low and mellow almost bass guitar-like rhythms, to the crisp and ringing high lead notes it can deliver. As a guitar player with more than 50 years experience I love playing it. In this video you can hear how it sounds in the hands of an expert musician. If you're in the market for a nice guitar at a great price then an IYV won't disappoint you. And if it does arrive with shipping damage Amazon will give you a refund or replacement, so no worries!
The F holes on mine were bound, just not very well out of the box. I had to sand down the binding to finish it properly. Looks good now after a little work.
@@leodanryan966 , to be sure, I wasn't scared off by my experience with IYV. They are well worth it for the price, if you are willing to accept some flaws and put a little work into them. From my experience, I wouldn't hand one fresh out of the box to an absolute beginner, but if you don't mind doing a little extra work, they make a nice playing guitar. My TSB has a really nice feeling neck. One of my favorites. I wish you and you channel the best!
You Rock dude. You made that guitar sound amazing. Love your playing. Is there anyway you can let me know where I can get those backing tracks. What is that tune...Awesome. I'm 60 and when I grow up I want to sound like you...lol
I swear I responded to this comment yesterday and the day before. De ja vu all over again, in any case thanks for watching and for your kind comments Bernie
Just got one based on your review. The exterior looks fine and setup was good, frets fine. The interior body is as rough as a chainsaw cut on bottom and underside of body. I'm a bit concerned that such a non concern could lead to cracking. A little bit of sanding would have done wonders. It's nearly impossible now going through the F holes.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I'm not certain I understand the issue you have described, but if you are not satisfied with the product, I'd send it back for a refund or replacement. I hope you enjoy your new guitar in any case 😉👍!
@@leodanryan966 Thanks for your reply. I have requested and received a return RMA and they are sending a replacement. To describe my situation you only need to look in the F holes and see the wood is rough cut with no sanding. Deep cutter blade groves in the underside of the top. The bottom is also unsanded but not as obvious as the top. My worry was if no smoothing was done how good is the fit of the body seams when glued. Uneven surfaces don't mate up with a glue joint. I didn't expect a flawless guitar at this price but solid construction is a must. I'm 74 and own, repaired and played guitars for 60 plus years. Love your channel and reviews with superb playing.
Thanks very much for your kindness and we're excited that you are receiving a replacement. You know Larry we don't ever reccomend guitars, they either reccomend themselves or not. We don't receive any free guitars either. I (Leo) purchase nearly every guitar we review. I just wanted you to know that, so you can better understand what we're about 😉👍!
I've been looking at the Leo Jaymz guitars. I think we can probably get ahold of one in the future. Thanks Steve as always for watching and for your kind comments 😉 👍!
Man! I watched your video because I was thinking about buying this IJP-300 model, but got blown away by your guitar skills!! We look to be close to the same age, but I can't begin to play anything like you! I just retired from full time so I wanted to buy a new guitar to improve my guitar playing, but after listening to you maybe I should forget it! 😎 Would you suggest this guitar for a intermediate player? Can I ask you if you started out with guitar lessons, or are you self taught. I've been trying to figure it out mostly on my own, but hasn't been able to get very good. Thanks for the amazing video and for your reply!
I was self taught until I moved to L.A. in the 70's. After living there a couple of years I started attending the Dick Grove Music Workshop. I wasn't studying guitar, but improvisation, using Dick's theories. They had four levels of improvisation classes and they put me in the fourth level right away. It was incredibly valuable training.
I'm afraid that isn't possible since I record everything with my phone. Maybe you can turn it up on your end. I once in a while get a comment about the low volume, but most people are not having the same issue. I used to use lavalier mics, but the new phones don't support them. Thanks again 😉 👍!
Thanks very much Nana for watching and for your kind comments, yes it does except a little bit thinner body. I haven't seen it in white, but it sounds beautiful 😉👍!
mine has the rounded horn like the one in this video, but searching google iyv 300 always brings up an identicle guitar but with the sharp point horn...anyone?

Thanks very much Jeff for watching and for your kind comments. Actually, the amplifier was about $600, but we've recently changed the amplifier from the Fender Mustang GT 100w, to a Fender Mustang LT25 to save space and make it easier for Dan to move around while seated, but we get what you're saying 😉👍!
You want a see a guitar that is vintage and gorgeous big I have a Ventura BARNEY KESSEL take a look at that one made in 1967 I have at going on 12 years bought a long time ago
I'll take a look at it! Thanks and have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday 😀 👍! I was able to find one on Reverb for $375+$40 shipping in Cherry Burst. Strange that it's got a bolt on neck, not usually a feature of Semihollow guitars. I saw a few that were much more expensive as well. Thanks so much for dropping by.

The new phone had terrible audio and I was unable to hear my own videos for editing. I sent it back, but I personally am listening to the video right now and I can hear every word.
Awesome! Sorry I took so long to respond, I just received the notification. Enjoy your new guitar 🎸 👍!
I know I'm late to the party but I'm trying to settle a debate, not having one in hand: does it have a full length center block or just a tone block under the bridge?
You guys might not have it anymore...
I'm not near the guitar at the moment. I'll try to remember when I am 🎅👍!
I'm sold! Excellent playing and demo
Thanks very much, Michael, for watching and for your kind comments. Have a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄!
Great playing! Would that guitar be good for jazz clean warm tones? Is the neck pretty straight and flat with no fret buzzes? Thanks!
Thanks TJ for watching and for your kind comments, I'll pass them along to Dan 😉 👍!
Great playing brother. I gotta get one of these soon
Thanks very much for watching Marcus and for your kind words 😉👍!
Nice guitar and your playing is just amazing! Good job sir👍
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind words Bobby. I'll pass them along to Dan 😉👍!
You play so amzing makes me wanna dance and have a beer while at it😂
Thanks very much again, feel free to dance and drink whatever you like 😉👍!
Tasty playing and great vibrato!
Thanks very much for dropping by and for your kind words 😉 👍!
I have the IYV green LP copy. I assume this would be somewhat similar but jazzier tones?
Thanks very much Jim for watching, and I suppose it's possible. The LP is probably a lot heavier as they tend to be 😉👍!
Besides a good review and excellent playing you get awesome tones from that Fender GT. I enjoyed every minute, thanks.
Thanks very much for watching and for your very kind comments, I'll pass them along to Dan 😉👍!
I bought one of these guitars and just think its an awesome guitar. I would like to change the tuning heads. Do you have any recommendations.
Thanks very much Bernie for watching and for your kind question, what is it about the original tuners that you wish to change?
Beautiful playing, guys👍
Thanks for watching Dwight and for your kind comments 😉 👍!
Awesome playing, just ordered one I hope it is just as nice.
Thanks for watching Josh and for your kind comments. We appreciate your time and hope you get an even better one 😉👍!
Man that's some good playing.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind words 😉 👍!
Dan's a monster player. Nice video, guys.
Thanks for watching as always and for your kind words 😀 👍!
Thank you for the review.
Thanks for watching Joe 😉 👍!
my GAWD! man you can play the hell out of that guitar! Amazing!
Thanks very much, Simon, for your "Saintly" comments and for taking the time out of your busy schedule to watch our humble videos 😉 👍!
Wow, great playing, sir! You kicked butt all day on that one bro!
Thanks for watching and for your kind comments. I'll pass them along to Dan 😉 👍!
Nice playing sir. People in Asia have been woodworking for 5000 years the fact that these guitars can be built and sold for what is asked is a tribute to their skills. Would have paid more.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I'll pass them along to Dan 😉 👍!
@@leodanryan966 thanks for the reply. God bless
SUENA MUY BIEN Y ESTA HERMOSA
Gracias por mirando nosotros video y por tu parablas de amistad 😉👍!
Nice video, nice review and of course a lovely played track in the end. Shame this guitar's not available in the UK.
Thanks for the great video, though.
Thanks again Adam for watching and for your very kind comments. We appreciate your time and kindness 😉👍!
Very nice good looking guitar & the sound great too. I really like the inlay. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks very much my friend for watching and for your kind comments. I'm sorry I missed a couple of your videos. I haven't been well. I'll be around soon!😉👍!
@@leodanryan966 i hope you get well soon Leo🙏 All the best to you & your family. Cheers.
Thanks!
Thanks very much as always for watching and for your kind comments. I'd like to see the other jazz box.
( was that the jazz setting on the LT 25 ? .
Thanks very much Tim for your kind comments. I'll pass them as well as your question along to Dan. 😉👍!
@@dryan08 Thanks Dan!
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments 😉 👍!
The F holes on mine were bound, just not very well out of the box. I had to sand down the binding to finish it properly. Looks good now after a little work.
Thanks very much for watching Aaron and for your kind comments. I think it's been a couple of years ago since we did this one (pre covid-19).
@@aaronchilds4279 Thanks very much for your kindness.
Leo in the back ground making comments and correcting Dan is like Ed McMahan on the Johnny Carson show - how he interjects stuff and fills in....
Thanks very much for watching Michael, and this is exactly how I (Leo) describe my role in this. I always use the Ed McMahon analogy 😉👍!
I just go to RUclips and search for "guitar backing track." Lots of them come up and I just pick one. Thanks for listening.
Who knew you could purchase a jazz box for a little over $200.00... pretty guitar and nice playing as usual.
Thanks for watching Steve, actually they were originally $179.00. I just waited too long to get one. 😉👍!
Amazing Dan Ryan! You play extremely well
@@Darrylks5961 Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I'll pass them along to Dan 😎 👍!
Leo...just purchased a Leo jaymz USA flag hss guitar from Amazon.. would love to see a review on this model.
I've been looking at the Leo Jaymz guitars. I think we can probably get ahold of one in the future. Thanks Steve as always for watching and for your kind comments 😉 👍!
Its a nice bazoo but I'm not a fan of trapeze tails. Nice playing Dan.
Thanks for watching and for your comments 😉👍!
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I'll pass them along to Dan 😉 👍!
@@dryan08 Thanks Dan! At my age I'll just have to be satisfied being able to learn a few good riffs. You are amazing!!
Killer playing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Mike and for your kind words 😉👍!
Nice jam !
Thanks very much Allen for watching and for your kind words 😉 👍!
Turn the volume up on your mics.
I'm afraid that isn't possible since I record everything with my phone. Maybe you can turn it up on your end. I once in a while get a comment about the low volume, but most people are not having the same issue. I used to use lavalier mics, but the new phones don't support them. Thanks again 😉 👍!
wow! I just ordered one. now to learn how to do what you did 🤣👍
Thanks very much for watching and good luck with your new guitar 🎸, I'm certain you will master it in no time at all 😉👍!
Thanks for the review waiting on a white one, reminds me of a Gibson Birdland
Thanks very much Nana for watching and for your kind comments, yes it does except a little bit thinner body. I haven't seen it in white, but it sounds beautiful 😉👍!
mine has the rounded horn like the one in this video, but searching google iyv 300 always brings up an identicle guitar but with the sharp point horn...anyone?
Thanks for watching and for your kind comments, I personally haven't noticed it, but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Thanks again 😉 👍!
I see that this is no longer available on Amazon. Mr. 1000.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comment. I just checked, and it's gone up in price to $202, but it is still available: IYV IJZ-300 TSB Jazz Solid hollow-Body Electric Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst a.co/d/c4v9yB1
I just looked today and it said currently unavailable.
It's probably not available in the Dominican Republic, but it is here 😎👍!
Just bought one!!!

Yes it is! Thanks for watching and for your lengthy comment 🎅 👍!
Love it
Glad to hear it, thanks for watching ☺️ 👀!
Its definitely Korean. Only Korea does 700 ply binding.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking 🤔. Thanks for watching and for your kind observations on linguistics. 😉👍!
Very nice playing. Total proof a $3000 guitar doesnt mean crap if you cant play. Your whole setup prob cost $500.
@@leodanryan966 no it doesn't have a bolt on neck it's set neck exactly the same as a Gibson Barney KESSEL replica see the Gibson Barney KESSEL looks like YES A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING WERE GOING TO my daughter's house my wife makes the stuffing my daughter cooks the turkey and the other fixings and my three grandkids
Turn upp the volume on the recorder
Thanks very much for watching, but it's you that needs to turn up the volume. There are many other comments on the video, but you are the only one suggesting that the volume is low. I can hear it quite well, and I am 75 percent deaf. Lol 😉👍!

Are you kidding me with that playing? I just lost myself listening.
Thanks very much for watching, and for your kind words 😉 👍!
I can't hear you!
Thanks very much Jimmy for watching, and I understand. I recently purchased a new phone. A Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. These videos were recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S21. The new phone had terrible audio and I was unable to hear my own videos for editing. I sent it back, but I personally am listening to the video right now and I can hear every word. I'm sorry you can't hear it on your device. I don't think I have a solution that will allow everyone to hear 😉👍!
